I just came from FREEDOM Conference with Winnie Coco Banov as the speaker. Funny to think that with that kind of title of the conference I thought I already knew what it was all about … but Oh No! Little did I know that the Lord was up to something for me to learn, grasp, meditate and make real in my life.
When worship began, I was contending for a face to face, heart to heart encounter with God. I closed my eyes extremely expectant to see His face but SURPRISED as I could be, I saw faces of people that I know flashing before my eyes. Without saying a word, I asked from my heart what does this mean? He simply impressed in my heart, “you’ll see My face when you see each of them created according to My image and likeness. Remember, what you do to the least of your brethren, you do it to Me.”
Every son and daughter of the Most High God is an expression of Jesus Christ to His body. Our Daddy God has no lesser son nor lesser daughter. He deeply loves us all the same powerfully expressed when He gave us His only Begotten Son, Jesus. But with God, nothing is automatic just because you read or heard about this wonderful gift. His Word says, “without faith, it is impossible to please God.” (Hebrews 11:6) To activate our identity as sons and daughters, we are to BELIEVE that He exists and that He greatly loves us Who executed the power of His love by sending Jesus to the cross to pay for all our unrighteousness ALL BY HIS MERCY and GRACE. We RECEIVE His precious Gift in the person of Jesus Christ Who is the “gift of righteousness”.
“For it is BY GRACE [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] THROUGH FAITH. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] GIFT OF GOD; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. (Ephesians 2:8-9 AMP)
We all know that when a gift is given, it is to be RECEIVED and OPENED to be able to benefit from it. One can never enjoy such gift if left unopened.
One of the powerful thoughts from that conference is that when HE gave us Jesus, the Gift of God, He reconnected, reconciled and restored us back into the loving embrace of our Daddy God. The Blood of Jesus washed us clean and rendered us worthy for the Holy Spirit to abide, live, reside, settle, lodge, stay, house and dwell in us forever. “HE GAVE US FAITH TO ACTIVATE OUR UNION WITH HIM.” (Winnie Banov) A union with Christ that mightily and strongly denotes belonging ourselves to Him that results to becoming ourselves like Him. I so believe that when He cried out, “IT IS FINISHED!”, for me, it meant a total overcoming all surpassing powerful statement that splintered and pulverized anything and everything that resists and hinders our intimate relationship with Him. Therefore nothing and no one can separate us from Him and His love for us.
Once we know this powerful and enduring truth, our intimate relationship with Him postures us to explore, dig deep and delve into Who Jesus is as the Lover of our souls. What does it mean to be thoughtfully in a detailed way united with Him? It is going to be a life-long journey for the knowledge of Him is inexhaustible but it will surely be a ride that is full of excitement with eager enthusiasm and interest. I’m not saying that it will be a trouble-free life BUT it will certainly be a life of complete and joyful victory because the battle is not ours but His, and He already won them all 2000 years ago at the cross and in the power of His resurrection.
Just as lovers in the natural world, we exchange love notes, texts, emails or any other forms of messages expressing our feelings and deep desires. It could be delivered electronically, by hand, mail, carrier pigeon or even romantically left in a secret location. It varies according to our own artistic and creative way. Jesus Who is the Lover of our soul has His own way of expressing Himself and getting His personal love notes conveyed. All we need to do is get ourselves positioned into His frequency in the secret place where He reveals Himself lovingly.
One midnight, I woke up with a whisper in my heart that clearly said, “My delight in you is a breath of fresh air.” Oh wow! It was overwhelming! But then I was so tired and sleepy to get up so I went back to my dreamland. Then, at 2:45am, Lo and Behold, the soft and gentle whisper came again, “My delight in you is a breath of fresh air.” This time, I quickly got up. I remembered Samuel called by the Lord in 1 Samuel 3:1-10.
This is my FIRST love note. The Lover of my soul delights in me that is a breath of fresh air to me. He takes great pleasure in who I am and who He created me to be. He fearfully and wonderfully made me with the moral grandeur and excellence of Jesus Christ. His eyes are upon me 24/7 for He never sleeps nor slumbers. He cares for me. He upholds me with His righteous right hand and never letting me go all because He delights in me. He hears me every time I speak and gives Him a high degree of joy and brings HIM extreme satisfaction.
All because His delight in me is a breath of fresh air to me that I have inhaled, is inhaling and will forever be inhaling, it pushes away anything in my life that doesn’t bring Him pleasure. It is a breath that is revitalizing, refreshing, re-energizing and reinvigorating. It is a breeze that carries the aroma of His love that brings a reviving change to whatever challenges I have in the atmosphere of His presence. It is a grace-flavored moisture produced when communicated in the power of His love sprinkling His love notes, His incorruptible seeds sown when spoken, which is a vitality in its growth and a necessity in its fruitfulness.
“For the Lord your God is living among you, He is a Mighty Savior. He will TAKE DELIGHT IN YOU with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT)
How God sees us affects how we see others. Our identity IN HIM is necessary for us to see others the way God sees them. When “He delights in me” only means one thing … that He delights in you, too. This powerful revelation unveiled before me by the power of His love notes changed me and will continue to change me.
I challenge you today to exchange love notes with Him, too. He is just a whisper away and it will be to His utmost delight to hear your love notes to Him and Him lovingly conveying His to you. It is a wonderful journey that He has taken us into. It is a journey of LOVE that only He can satisfy the deep longing of our souls.
Oh Chee! Thank you for posting this today! Exchanging love notes with Jesus! What a delight.
