Presence Driven

I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End],” says the Lord God, “Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all].”  (Revelation 1:8 AMP)

He is the Beginning and the End.  He is the One Who began a good work in us and is faithful to perfect and complete it. (Philippians 1:6)   We don’t put our confidence in our own strength for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you and I, energizing and creating in us the power and desire, both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight (Philippians 2:13 AMPC).

We are born for a purpose.  No one is an exception, even those who are seemingly born “accidentally.”  We may not know the full extent of our purpose, but one thing necessary is to be alive in Christ and us becoming the temple of the Holy Spirit Who knows all things so that we may know and understand the wonderful things freely given to us by God, so that we may be taught, guided and led by the One Who knows the end from the beginning.

Kingdom invasion is all about the Spirit of God invading every aspect of our beings.  As temples of the Holy Spirit, we have rooms.  The mind is one room that has the most powerful influence within ourselves.  It is so influential that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7).  Our lives go according to our most dominant thoughts.  Thank God that when we received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, His Lordship includes lording over our thoughts.  We have the mind of Christ.

“For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].”  (1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP)

Do you know that when our gateways, what we see and what we hear, receive what has been offered, it changes our options?  When we open ourselves to the same thing again and again, that very thing will create a pattern of thoughts in our minds.  Before we know it, we have been convinced and how it is exposed is when we hear ourselves talking about the same thing.  It didn’t require much of an effort.  What did we do?  We just kept hearing and hearing.  No wonder His word says, “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

I believe hearing and hearing is of rest, yet it says, “we labor to enter His rest” (Hebrews 4:11).  Do you know why?  Because it is harder to be still than to keep going and moving.  Listening is an art that we need to develop especially inclining our ears to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.  There may be times that even in the midst of a crowd, His whisper is the loudest.  But when we are intentional to hear Him speak, we need to be still and KNOW that He is God and is continually speaking to us and that is relationship.

We always hear Christians say, “Christianity is not a religion.  It is all about relationship.”  Yes, it’s true.  We aren’t supposed to be like robots walking around dictated and driven by mere rules and regulations without comprehension.  But when rules and regulations are viewed as God’s parameters for our welfare and protection all because we are His beloveds whom He so loves and so cares, then it changes its effect in us.  Those words which were once despised by us, dragging ourselves to obey, now become a delight.  When we live our lives with the awareness of the Holy Spirit resident in us, Who walks with and talks to us, Who teaches and leads us in the way we should go, then our lives become full of life, excitement, expectations and purpose.  Indeed the letter kills but the Spirit gives LIFE! (2 Corinthians 3:16)

I saw this short video clip about a woman whose dream is to be a National Geographic photographer.  She pushed herself so hard for years until she realized that her door of becoming one is locked.  Instead of pursuing, she ventured into travel photography.  She still went to the same places where she went when she took photos submitted to National Geographic, but this time, she saw those places with fresh eyes that refreshed her soul and changed her heart. She asked what was her purpose of being in those beautiful places.  Then, it dawned on her that she was purposed to help preserve those places by taking even the littlest part in the community, sharing her life with those around her. When she got it, it totally changed her attitude towards what she is doing. Who knows one day she may find the key to open the locked door to her dream just because she found a treasure along the way.

We tap into the purpose of where we are and what we are doing when we see beauty and blessings in there instead of mere being fully driven and consumed by what we want to be.  We all have our dreams and ambitions to reach but I believe we find purpose along the way when we get to see the people around us with value, building relationships, sharing our lives with others and making a difference wherever we are.  Indeed, there is beauty in purpose.

Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (Romans 8:14)  The Holy Spirit in us will lead us to the right place at the right time, doing the right thing with the right heart, thinking the right thoughts and speaking the right words.  The Lord of righteousness dwells inside of us Who makes things right in our lives.  It is He Who perfects that which concerns us.  All we need to do is know Him and His thoughts towards us, be aware of His presence, cultivate our time with Him by choosing to spend time with Him where we get accustomed to and be familiar with His voice.  Our intimate relationship and divine connectedness with Him are vital keys.  The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives birth our purpose.

“Developing a life in God’s presence above all else is the only way to fulfill our God-given destinies.  Keys to our callings are released when we spend time there.”                  — HEIDI BAKER

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You, for opening our eyes to see differently where we are right now.  Unveil our purpose right here, right now, while we are basking in Your presence.   Holy Spirit help us to know, recognize and acknowledge Your voice that we may walk where You lead us to walk and speak what we hear You speak, for it is You Who leads us in the path of righteousness for Your name sake.  Jesus, thank You for being our Good Shepherd.  In You, we will not lack.  In You, ONLY and SURELY goodness and mercy shall pursue us all the days of our lives.  In You, we will find our purpose in life. Amen!
