One Touch From You

Truly, out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouths speak.  It could be in a form of profession, confession, declaration …  or why not, in a song?

“Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19 AMPC)

This song that I wrote was birthed from this powerful revelation that whoever encounters the Love and the Presence of King Jesus will never remain the same.  Times of refreshing comes from even just One Touch From Him.

“As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of His hand healed everyone.”  (Luke 4:40 NLT)

Jesus healed everyone He touched.  He healed the ones who also came to touch Him.  Even a touch of the hem of His garment, power flowed out to heal the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years.  He healed the servant of the Centurion by the touch of His word spoken.  He healed and made whole the woman caught in adultery without condemnation.  He simply said, “Go and sin no more.” By His touch, the blind man saw, the leper was cleansed and the cripple walked. By His Word, Lazarus came to life.

Jesus’ Name is the Word of God.  Whoever receives the Word, receives Him.  Whoever believes the Word, believes Him.  Whoever is touched by the Word is touched by Him.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.” (Revelation 19:12-13)

There are countless accounts of Jesus’ touch that brought heaven’s realm to earth, but His touch didn’t stop when He died, rose and ascended back to heaven.   He said, I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone.  But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.”  (John 12:24 NLT)  This depicts that those who receive Him as Lord and Savior become NEW CREATIONS IN HIM, become a part of His Kingdom, His family and are called to carry out what He started.  His Word says, “As He is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17)  More so, He said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may beglorified in the Son.  If you]ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)

When I have to make a major decision and I bump into a stubborn wall of confusion, I praise and worship.  When my focus gets redirected to our Good Shepherd, cloudiness dissipates and clarity comes.  All things that fight to get my attention and affection fade away in the Light of His presence.  That’s one touch from Him.

When my body feels weak, or is sometimes in pain, I run to His presence and worship, until His presence becomes more of a reality than what I feel.  I sing songs of Him being my Healer and when His healing touch manifests, weakness or pain no longer have a hold of me.

When I am awakened at night because of a dream where I saw someone who I do not even know was in a bad situation, I spoke the Name of Jesus!  I spoke life!  I plead the Blood of Jesus for a hedge of protection around that someone.  I may not know what happened next, but all I know is that when that redemptive solution was revealed to me and I took action by faith as the Holy Spirit led me, His touch over that person was released.

When I am walking in a mall, at the airport or wherever and I feel a tug in my heart to bless someone, I boldly go to that person and bless him/her.  They may be surprised, but I simply say, “God wants to bless you.”  What happened?  They just got touched by the Darling of Heaven, Jesus Christ.

When I have an unction to call or visit someone, I make a move.  I may not know what they’re going though, but until I take that step of faith, I wouldn’t be able to deliver the touch of heaven that was in store for that someone.

You and I are His hands and feet, His mouthpieces and the diffusers of the fragrance of His love.  All we need is to press in into His Presence day and night, meditate His Word day and night, live and move and have our being in Him constantly and consistently. We hunger and thirst for more of Him that we may filled and flooded with the richest measure of His divine presence and get to be a body that is wholly filled and flooded with Himself.

The only way for us to effectively walk as He walks is when we become one with Him and His Word.  We are to be partakers of His divine nature, reflecting Who He is in this world.  You and I, as believers, have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless we live, yet not us, but Christ lives in us and the life that we now live in the flesh we live by faith of the Son of God, who loved us, and gave Himself for us. (Galatians 2:20)

As He moves, we yield to His leading by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit resident in us.  We make ourselves as living offerings to Him, His living epistles, His living doors, then, His touch becomes tangible through our touch.

The best part of all these is, it is never by works lest we boast.  As we become one with Him, His desires become ours.  His Word says, [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and  delight.” (Philippians 2:13 AMPC)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great love for us that You gave Your only Beloved and Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that through Him and in Him, we are reconciled with You and be forever welcomed into Your loving embrace.  Thank You, Jesus, for saving us by the power of Your shed blood.  Thank You for being the Word made flesh that we may be one with You as the Holy Spirit reveals to us Your very being according to Your Word.  Your touch in our lives changes us from glory to glory.  Amen!
