Make Room!

The Holy Spirit knows ALL things.

Have you ever experienced in your life where God superceded and exceeded your expectations?  These are testimonies in our lives where our revelatory and experiential knowledge of Him are expanded and enlarged, knowing that we cannot put Him in a box where the limitations of our mindsets are contained.

It is time for us to get in alignment to God’s will and ways, and MAKE ROOM for Him to move and break the barriers of our ceilings and believe for the greater, by spending time with Him and abiding in his Word.

GOD HAS A PLAN.   YOU AND I ARE A PART OF IT.

“Enlarge the place of your tent,
And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;
Do not spare;
Lengthen your cords,
And strengthen your stakes.
For you shall expand to the right and to the left,
And your descendants will inherit the nations,
And make the desolate cities inhabited.” (Isaiah 54:2-3)

When Moses was grown, he was disturbed and burdened by the way his people, the Israelites were treated in Egypt.  One day, “he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren, so he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”  (Exodus 2:11-12)  He was unaware that there were witnesses to what he did, and when the incident reached the ears of Pharaoh, he was sought after to be killed.  Moses feared, fled and went to the land of Midian.

Moses must have thought that he would spend all his life in that place, but God had a plan.  Little did Moses know that at an appointed time, he will be called by God back to Egypt to deliver His people from the harsh and abusive Egyptians.

Moses had a God-encounter, the burning-bush encounter, when he came to the mountain of Horeb as he was tending the flock.  It was when God changed the course of his life.  He needed to take off his footwear on the Holy Ground.  And with that powerful encounter, a new life-route was birthed.  The Lord was up to doing a new thing, a new walk, a new call, a new mindset and a new footwear needed because He will then direct each step that Moses would take.

God has surely seen the oppression of His people who were in Egypt, and has heard their cry because of their taskmasters and knew their sorrows.  Moses was part of God’s plan to deliver His people from Egypt and bring them to the land flowing with milk and honey.

Did Moses know beforehand that one day he will be called to be a deliverer?  No!

Joseph was thrown in a pit and sold into slavery by his brothers.  But, “the Lord was with Joseph and he was a successful man in the house of his master the Egyptian.” (Genesis 39:2)  Even as a slave, he developed skills and was so valuable that he was put in charge of his master’s whole household.

When he was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife and was put into prison, he kept a righteous attitude that caused him to be put in charge of the whole prison.  The Lord was with Joseph and he was a successful man in spite of him being contained in a cell.  He interpreted the dreams of the chief baker and chief butler while being there.  In fact, he told the chief butler to keep him in mind and mention him to Pharaoh when he gets reinstated just as Joseph interpreted his dream, but he was forgotten.

Two full years passed when Pharaoh had a couple of dreams that no one could interpret, and only then the butler remembered and mentioned him to Pharaoh.  Joseph interpreted his dreams that positioned him as Prime Minister of Egypt.  Because the Lord gave him wisdom on what to do through the interpretations of Pharaoh’s dreams, he was powerfully used by the Lord to save many from famine, including his very own family, his father and his brothers who sold him to slavery.

Did Joseph know beforehand that one day he will be sold to be a slave but later on becomes second most powerful man in Egypt?  No!

There is still more to where the Lord is taking us. MAKE ROOM!  MAKE ROOM! MAKE ROOM!

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.”  (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)

Yes, these great men that I have mentioned really had awesome God-encounters that postured them for greatness because the Lord our God was with them, but TODAY, in our time and season, the Lord our God is alive!  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  In our personal journey of knowing Him, believing in Him, trusting Him with great expectations, we will see Him move like we have never seen Him move before.

Yes, no eye has seen nor ear heard what the Lord has prepared for us ….”, but the Holy Spirit has revealed to us from faith to faith, from glory to glory what Jesus accomplished and finished at the cross, in which we are invited to receive, believe and enforce, for He has given us promises that are yes and amen!  You and I are living in such a time as this where we have a better covenant with better promises.

“But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is FAR SUPERIOR to the old priesthood, for He is the one Who mediates for us a far BETTER COVENANT with God, based on BETTER PROMISES.”  (Hebrews 8:6 NLT)

“This is the NEW COVENANT I will make
    with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord:
I will put my laws in their minds,
    and I will write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
    and they will be my people.” (Hebrews 8:10)

The high priests in the Old Covenant needed to be blameless, pure and holy by their deeds for his offering to be accepted once a year on behalf of the people.  If he gets accepted, for one year the people will be blessed, otherwise, for one year they will be far from the blessing of God.

But, because the Lord our God is rich in mercy and abounding in love, He gave us His one and only beloved and begotten Son.  Jesus is our High Priest Who is forever blameless, pure and holy.  Once and for all Jesus fulfilled all the law, did and performed a permanent, ultimate, absolute, irrefutable victory that procures blessing for everyone who believes Him and His finished work.

In our everyday lives, we, believers, are designed to see Him manifesting Himself in and through us.  We cannot live tight-fisted and closed-minded only to see our own plans evidenced apart from Him.  We MAKE ROOM!  The Kingdom of God is within us.  “It is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”  (Romans 14:17 NLT)  When one becomes born again, born above, born of God, only then we are graced TO SEE the kingdom of God. Our perception changes and are widened to see MORE!  “Jesus answered and said to Nicodemus, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3).  There is no other way for our eyes to be unveiled and spiritually opened.  Jesus said, “I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life …” (John 14:16)

Our day may seem ordinary, but when we look closely, even our every breath is supernatural and with this, we are to be perpetually thankful for.  Every breath is a breath of life, a breath of hope that we may be a beacon of hope to those around us.

The world may be stressful, but His word is restful.  You and I have been given a measure of faith and faith is resting in the finished work of Jesus Christ, MAKING ROOM for the Holy Spirit Who abides in us forever to move in our lives, anointing us and giving us the ability to do what God called us to do that that is beyond our capacity.  He is the SUPER to our natural.

Do you know that even when we have been deceived or robbed, we still can be a blessing?  Our words matter!  As we forgive those who wronged us and speak a blessing upon them, we are enforcing that blessing to touch them.  We are to overcome evil with good, but this is only possible when we MAKE ROOM for the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts and in response, we obey.  Surely, what the devil meant for evil, God will always turn it to good, just as what Joseph told his brothers. But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20)

His Words are spirit and life that know no boundaries.  When His Word is spoken in faith, it is living and powerful, sharper than a double-edged sword that cuts through soul and spirit, bone and marrow, and is a discerner of our thoughts and intents of our hearts.  We may not visibly witness its manifestation, but when spoken by faith, we have the title deed, the assurance, to what we hope for.

“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” (Hebrews 11:1 AMPC)

One day, I was looking at the net and was enticed by this beautiful pair of sneakers. The more I looked at them, the more I liked them.  So, my next move was to inquire on how to purchase it.  They were immediately responsive.  I asked for more real time photos, apart from the ones on their catalogue, and thought, hmmmm they really looked good.

To cut the long story short, I filled out their purchase form.  But, a few minutes later, my eyes were opened to one part of the shoes, the heel flap, which had something else written and not as what I expected.  Right away, I cancelled my order.

To my surprise, they did not make room for my order to be cancelled.  Instead, they told me that it was already processed and will be soon delivered.   No matter how I communicated, there was no longer any reply.  Thankfully, payment mode was COD.

Three days later, I received a text message from a courier that delivery was at hand.  Hmmmm … I knew it was that pair of shoes.  I prayed on how to respond to it.

Psalm 34:4  I sought the Lord, and He answered me
    and delivered me from all my fears.

v. 8-9 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
    Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints,
    for those who fear Him have no lack!

v.13-14 Keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from speaking deceit.
     Turn away from evil and do good;
    seek peace and pursue it.

My heart was then set to seek peace and pursue it!  For me, it meant, oh well, I’ll just get the pair and pay.  I never wanted to argue with the courier, since his job was just to deliver and collect the payment.  I will not say anything against seller, but speak a blessing and pray that their eyes be opened to know the One True God and the One He sent, Jesus Christ, Who is the TRUTH!  Then, my heart was at peace.

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel,
“In returning
 and rest you shall be saved;
    in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15)

No matter what losses I may experience, nothing and no one can take away the peace in my heart that comes from the constant companionship of His presence.  At the end of my prayer, I simply said, “I’ll settle and pay, but, Lord, I will MAKE ROOM for YOU to move in spite of my decision.”

On the day of delivery, the courier called me up.  I went out with my payment and waited until he was done with his other deliveries in our building.  I simply told him my story and to my surprise, his response was way beyond what I thought or imagined.  He said, “Ma’am, please do not take the package.  Do not open it!  This is a scam!”  Actually, it was almost like he was begging me not to get it.  I asked him what I needed to do.  He just said, “Just reply to my text message, ‘CANCEL ORDER’, and I will take care of it.  Don’t worry.”   I blessed him for his kindness and genuine helping heart.  Oh wow!!!! The Lord just sent an angel with invisible wings.  Praise the Lord!!!

That day, I learned that we may have a concrete idea in our minds as to what needs to be done, but when we MAKE ROOM for the Holy Spirit to move, He will show Himself strong to us, that will surprise us how way beyond awesome are His thoughts and ways.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
    neither are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are My ways higher than your ways
    and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for always looking after us, Your sons and daughters.  Thank You for caring for us affectionately and caring about us watchfully.  You never cease to amaze us with Your ways and thoughts that are way beyond what we can dare dream, think or imagine.   Thank you, Jesus, for Your finished work that gives us the boldness to come before Your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace in time of our need.  Thank You for always hearing us and answering us that continually make us in awe of how good You are and how loved we are by You.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for always leading and guiding us with the promptings in our innermost being that we may make room and give You the liberty to move.  Truly, where You, the Holy Spirit, is Lord, there is freedom.  Amen!
