When the Lord opens our eyes to SEE Him all throughout the day, He is issuing an invitation for us to engage in what He is doing and what He is thinking. This is abiding in His presence that causes us to be joyful, prayerful and thankful.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 ESV)
When we SEE blessings, we thank Him for them. This is a form of prayer.
When we FEEL anxious, we cast our cares to Him. Casting our care to Him for He cares for us is another form of prayer.
When we SEE someone in need, wehave been positioned to help! Being a channel of God’s answer to someone else’s prayer is prayer in itself.
There are a million and one ways for us to pray. It is our active and vital connectedness to the Vine Who is never empty nor lacking, but FULL of FULLNESS ever ready to pour into WHOEVER is hungry and thirsty.
One of the ways to pray unceasingly is to consciously abide in His presence. To abide means to remain, to endure, to continue in it, to be present, TO LINGER IN EXPECTATION, to hope! He is ALWAYS with us but it is the continuous increase of our awareness of Him that keeps us anchored to this truth.
The more aware we are of His presence, the more joyful we become, for the fullness of our joy can only be found in His presence. The joy of the Lord is a by-product of His presence in us that strengthens us. How can one stay weak when the One Who is Almighty is on our side? When we meditate and make our goal of living close to Him secondary to none, we can find joy even in the midst of difficult situations. His presence brings redemptive solutions, making a way where there seems to be no way for JESUS IS THE WAY.
When the enemy comes in, LIKE A FLOOD HE raises up a banner to protect us. He is the Strong Tower where we can run to and be saved. Most of the time we may not be aware of it until we have seen His protection and provision done in an obvious manner. But what about those times when His doings are not displayed for our physical eyes to see? Sometimes He delays our schedules just to protect us from something harmful, yet our natural propensity is to complain. No wonder His word says, IN everything give thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18) His word didn’t say FOR everything give thanks. We need to be founded on the truth that ALL things work together for our good because we have a GOOD, GOOD Father Who is fully committed to our good.
When we see from His perspective that everything happens for a reason, it puts our hearts to rest. Our knowledge of the good news that ALL PROBLEMS have been dealt with at the cross is the riches of His grace towards us. Not one trial that we face is without a redemptive answer before it arises. He goes before us and He knows the end from the beginning. Our Christian life is all about knowing how to withdraw from His heavenly provision, fully paid by the blood of Jesus Christ, for us to enjoy. The fruit of patience and perseverance is born when we know that it is He Who orders our steps, graces us to walk in them and they are always to flourish us.
To flourish means to spread out our wings to fly and soar, to break forth, breakout and breakthrough, to begin to bud and bloom where fruit is coming for the world to taste and see that the Lord is good. Flourishing is not a one time thing. It is continuously displaying and demonstrating the blessings that He has blessed us with for us to be a blessing to those around us.
Abiding in His presence makes our roots grow deep as we draw nourishment from Him alone. Feasting in His presence and feeding on His faithfulness enlarge us. The anointing of the Holy Spirit in our lives enables us to breakout and breakthrough that no amount of the most stubborn resistance can stop us.
Indeed, our greatest form of prayer is simply communing and communicating constantly and consistently with the One Who created us in love.
The cornerstone of our belief to stay steady and steadfast despite the challenges that we face is His love. The banner of His love towards us is the most powerful protection we have of Him for it never fails, never runs out, and never gives up on us. He is LOVE Himself. Once we get a grasp of how much we are perfectly loved, it casts out all our fears and anxieties away. To be mindful being the object of His affection and responding to His perfect love is one powerful prayer that is expressed in thanksgiving, praise and worship.
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 4:6-7 TPT)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You, for tearing down the stronghold that separated us from You by the power of the Blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus! Thank You, Jesus, for withholding nothing from us, not even Yourself, that we may be reconciled and restored back into abiding in Your presence without fear of being rejected. You opened Your arms wide at the cross to embrace us back to Yourself. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for continuously teaching us how to unceasingly pray with grateful hearts abiding in Your presence forever where fullness of joy is found. Amen!
