Know Jesus And Make Him Known

The effectiveness of making Jesus known to the ends of the earth comes from our experiential knowledge of Him.  Gone are the days when people preach out of their intellectual capacity that only equip them to argue.  The good news is the gospel of peace that brings unity in diversity and the only way to effectively do this is to walk in the love of God … not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God.

“TASTE and SEE that the Lord is good; BLESSED is the one who takes refuge in Him.” (Psalm 34:8)

Think with me on this.  When we go to a particular restaurant just because we heard reviews of how good their food is, we just have based our going by someone else’s knowing.  Once we have proven it ourselves that what has been shared with us is true, then we just positioned ourselves to carry that “authority” to broadcast it.  Oh yes, we can’t help ourselves but talk about it with those who are within our sphere of influence.

Spreading the good news of the gospel of peace is the same way. When we experientially taste and see how good our Heavenly Father is, perfectly demonstrated by His Son Jesus Christ and powerfully revealed to us by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, our testimonies are effortlessly borne. We become witnesses of Who He is and who we are in Him and MAKE HIM KNOWN.

Truly, to witness is easy once we become consistent witnesses of His goodness.  Words will just flow from the life that we live in Him, with Him and through Him. “For out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouths speak.” (Luke 6:45)  What we need to be more aware of is what deposits are we filling our hearts with.  What are we feeding ourselves with? What kind of influence are our gateways exposed to?  Our eyes and ears are the most vital doorways in making deposits into the reservoir of our hearts.

Let us make time in His presence.  There is nothing that can make us more like Him but to commune with Him.  I love what David’s “one thing” is.

“Here’s the ONE THING I crave from God,
the ONE THING I seek above all else:
I want the privilege of living with Him every moment in His house,
finding the sweet loveliness of His face,
filled with awe, delighting in His glory and grace.
I want to live my life so close to Him
that He takes pleasure in my every prayer.” (Psalm 27:4 TPT)

Our time with Him is never wasted time.  Our time with Him births intimacy where fruitfulness flows.  Learning to be still to hear His still small voice from deep within us equips us and makes us ready to take on for the day and find rest in the night.  Peace cannot be bought.  Peace is not the absence of troubles.  But real Peace is only found in Presence of Someone and His Name is Jesus, the Prince of Peace, even when we find ourselves in the midst of turmoil.

I love what one of the preachers said, “It was not God Who showed up in our meetings where we saw His magnificence for He is EVER-PRESENT.  It was you and I who showed up and opened our hearts to seek His presence and connected ourselves to Him that caused our intimate union with Him to be real and tangible.”  Wow!  What a revelation!

Our spiritual muscles need essential preparations and consistent exercises found in the love encounters that happen in His presence.  It strengthens us so that we may not grow weary in doing good, making His goodness and glory known to all the earth as He shows and makes Himself known to us personally.  Simply put, we cannot give what we do not have.  We cannot love without being first loved.  The heaven-on-earth kingdom of God needs to invade our lives first before we can bring invasion to the atmosphere around us.

The fruit of our lives cannot be hidden.  They are testimonies of Jesus Christ.  To those who have ears to hear and eyes to see posture themselves to taste and see how good the Lord is.

“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.  For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:43-45)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for making Yourself known to us in ways and means crafted personally and intimately according to each one’s capacity to responsively respond.  Thank You, Jesus, for Your faithfulness to see us the very way You created us to be and enabling us to live our lives empowered and enabled by the Holy Spirit dwelling inside us.  We are Your masterpieces and no amount of challenges that we face can hinder us from being Who You created us to be.  Amen!
