Our Father’s Desire

We may think, what difference does it make if we know Him as God alone and not as a Father?  Oh there is such a big difference.  Fatherhood is all about having a relationship with His sons and daughters.

If we desire to know Who our Heavenly Father is, look to Jesus.  Jesus illustrates the love of the Father.

“I have revealed to them Who You are and I will continue to make You even MORE REAL to them, so that they may experience the same endless love that You have for Me, for Your love will now live in them, even as I live in them!” (John 17:26 TPT)

He models the will of God.  He said, “I and the Father are one!” (John 10:30)  Jesus only does what He sees His Father do and only speaks what He hears His Father says.  No more!  No less!

For the past years, I used to wonder how come there is this verse that says, “He is the Father to the fatherless!” (Psalm 68:5)?  Does this only mean He is the Father to those who do not have physical fathers and mothers?  Hmmmm … but in this glorious journey that I’m in where I hunger and thirst to know more of God, I came to understand that we live in a world full of spiritual orphans.

An orphan spirit is one who has zero concept of God being our Heavenly Father, Who believes in, crazy in love with and wild about His children.  Apart from knowing Him as our Father, we get limited in every area of our lives according to what we see with our physical eyes that leads to hopelessness, unaware that His kingdom knowns no end.  No wonder His word says, “People perish due to lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)  The knowledge of the truth of Who our Father is and who we are before Him as His sons and daughters is powerful.  It breaks our limited minds as we tap into His thoughts and ways that are higher (Isaiah 55:8).

But our Daddy God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in love eagerly desires to be intimately known by us.  Oh how He woos us to Himself, but it requires for us to go past beyond the obvious, beyond what we physically see.  It takes faith to believe that there is a God.  “For we come to God IN FAITH knowing that He is REAL and that He REWARDS the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking Him.” (Hebrews 11:6 TPT)  And do you know what kind of reward we get when we diligently seek Him?  Nothing less than HIMSELF.

“You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart.”  (Jeremiah 29:13)

Many people know Him as God, but only those who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of the Living God are honored and privileged to know and call Him as Abba, Father.

Hmmm … you may think that I’m limiting such honor and privilege.  Not at all!  In the natural realm, a father is known by having a son or a daughter, right?  No one can call man a father without children.  It is the same way with our Heavenly Father.  How can we know that He is The Father?  It is only because of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

Given a glorious invitation to know Him as our Father, He just did not leave us powerless in seeking for this awesome truth how by ourselves.  He gave us FULL provision for this wonderful quest.  He gave us no other than His beloved Son Whom He is well pleased, Jesus Christ, as The Way.

“Jesus answered, “I Am the way and the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

The Lord God, our Father is a Holy God.  Anything or anyone unholy, impure and unrighteous cannot withstand His awesome holy presence.  But the beauty of having a loving Heavenly Father Who desires to have relationship with His sons and daughters lies on the truth of how He called you and me, to be “holy”.  “For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)

Because we can NEVER make ourselves holy in and of our own ability to commune with the Holy God our Father, He made a thorough and perfect redemptive solution and provision.  His great love for us made a way where there seemed to be no way. The good news is, He Who calls us to be holy graces us to be holy.  It is not according to our own works.  It is by grace through faith and it is a gift lest anyone should boast.  We are to put ALL our hope in the gracious salvation that Jesus Christ paid for by the power of His precious blood. Then, we become  His.  We become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.  We become holy, set apart for His use.  To be paid for is to be owned by the one who paid the price.  Therefore, we become His precious possessions, holy, acceptable, approved, embraced and loved.

“But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!

And there is still much more to say of His unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in My sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God. So if while we were still enemies, God fully reconciled us to Himself through the death of his Son, then something greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, and because we share in His resurrection life, how much more we will be rescued from sin’s dominion!

And even more than that, we overflow with triumphant joy in our new relationship of living in harmony with God—all because of Jesus Christ!  (Romans 5:8-11 TPT)

This is the very reason why Jesus came, to restore us back into our loving Heavenly Father’s embrace and to experientially know Him as our Daddy God.  And with this powerful revelation of what it means to have the Creator of the universe as our Daddy God, how then can we be limited?  He is not the administrator of an orphanage who is mostly concerned about the basic needs of the orphans.  He is a loving Father Who is lavish in His love and is committed to our good.  He is a faithful Father Whose love endures forever, Whose mercies are new and fresh every single morning, Whose favor toward us is unearned and unmerited, Whose provision is according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus and countless more.

Indeed, he who has the Son has LIFE!  And he who knows the Son knows who The Father is, how much He loves us and who He called us to be, His sons and daughters who are His masterpieces.

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [LIVING A GOOD LIFE WHICH HE PREARRANGED AND MADE READY FOR US TO LIVE.].”  (Ephesians 2:10 AMPC)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great love that You gave Your only Son, Jesus Christ, to be my Lord and Savior.  Jesus, I receive and welcome You into my heart.  Make Your home in me.  I belong to You and You belong to me.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for revealing all the truth there is to know for me to have and enjoy life that Daddy God has prearranged for me as His child.  Amen!
