There is nothing in this world that is originated by us. Nothing was made that was made apart from Him, not even love, for GOD IS LOVE.
“All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being.” (John 1:3 AMP)
The ONLY reason why we love is because He FIRST loved us. He is the Source of Love, the Supplier of Love, the Sustainer of Love, the author and finisher of our faith that works BY LOVE. It is impossible for us to love if we have not received love first from Him, for we cannot give what we do not have first.
Because we are created in love, we cannot do anything apart from love. We may not be aware of it, but the truth of the matter is, love is incorporated in every good thing that we do. Our revelation of doing things in love matters. When our deeds are fueled by love, it ignites someone else’s heart to spark. It is powerfully contagious and is not only true to the recipient, but also to those who witnessed the testimony of the one being touched by the love of God.
1 Corinthians 16:14 says, “Let all that you do be done with LOVE.”
“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God’s love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. And if I have the gift of prophecy [and speak a new message from God to the people], and understand all mysteries, and [possess] all knowledge; and if I have all [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love [reaching out to others], I am nothing. If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it does me no good at all.” (1 Corinthians 13:1-3 AMP)
I so love the verse that says, “Owe nothing to anyone except to love and seek the best for one another; for he who [unselfishly] loves his neighbor has fulfilled the [essence of the] law [relating to one’s fellowman].” (Romans 13:8 AMP)
Indeed, what the world needs is love. It is the kind of love that is unconditional. It is the kind of love that is not dependent on our feelings. It is a force that enables us to love the unlovable, for what good does it do to us if we only love those who love us and treat us well. It is by the grace of God through faith, His divine enablement that empowers us to walk in love in and out of season. It is never by our own might, never by our own power, but only made possible by the Spirit of God Who is resident in us.
“Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 AMP)
Our obedience to His Word, to His commandments is not just mere ordinary obedience. We obey the Lord our God is because we are loved by Him. It is an expression of being loved that casts out all our fears away. It is knowing that when we are loved deeply and dearly by Him, He only has one thing in mind, His plans are ALL good, plans to prosper us and never to harm us, to give us a hope and a beautiful future, and this knowledge of His love for us causes our hearts to be changed from hearts of stones to hearts of flesh that will yield to His will. Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will obey Me.” We can only make His Word the final authority in our lives when we know that He is faithful to fulfill what He has promised us because He loves us and His love is steadfast, His love is strong, His love is enduring, His love is unending and His love is unfailing.
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Love is not what we think love is. It is much more than what we could dare dream, think or imagine, and the most powerful demonstration of God’s love for us is when He gave us Jesus, His only Begotten Son. All who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.

This is the only way for us to have and to be filled with the Agape Love of God. Then, the Holy Spirit comes to indwell us and it is He Who bears witness, testifies, confirms and assures us that we are children of God, and as children of the Most High God, we are definitely, undoubtedly, surely, certainly, loved by our Heavenly Father. God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Think with me on this …. the Son of God became the Son of Man, so that we, as sons and daughters of men can become sons and daughter of God. This is the utmost divine exchange that ever happened all because of His great love for you and me.
As we celebrate “Happy Hearts Day!”, may we have a renewed way of thinking and be more aware that it is the Love of God that makes us whole. It is His love that heals our broken-hearts. It is His love that heals our bodies from sickness and diseases. It is His love that takes away our sin, our pain and our shame. It is His love that delivers us from our afflictions and addictions. It is His love that restores our identity as sons and daughters of our Loving Heavenly Father. It is His love that makes us love one another.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35 NIV)
Powerful Prayer of Paul to the Church of Ephesus:
“And I pray that He would unveil within you the unlimited riches of His glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with His divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of His love will become the very source and root of your life. Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you. Now we offer up to God all the glorious praise that rises from every church in every generation through Jesus Christ—and all that will yet be manifest through time and eternity. Amen!” (Ephesians 3:16-21 TPT)
