One of the main reasons why Jesus came to earth as the Son of Man is to reveal Who the Father is, for no one knows the Father except the Son.
“All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him” (Matthew 11:27)
Jesus modeled the lifestyle of what it means to be indwelt and anointed by the Holy Spirit and power, so that you and I can walk in the same manner or even do greater things just as He said so in the Word. He issued an invitation for us to be His co-laborers for His kingdom and make known to the four corners of the earth the knowledge of God’s glory and His goodness as the waters cover the sea.
Jesus demonstrated His love for the Father by His perfect example – OBEDIENCE . He only did what He saw the Father doing and spoke what He heard the Father speaking. He chose to live with limitations while He walked on earth humanly, yet His full yieldedness to the Father caused Him to walk in the supernatural as the power of the Holy Spirit flowed in and through Him without restrictions.
No wonder His Word says, “Do not grieve nor quench the Holy Spirit”, for in doing so, we are bound to the limitations of our own ability. It is the Holy Spirit Who is poured upon us with the unlimited riches of God’s glory and favor until supernatural strength floods our innermost being with His divine might and explosive power that breaks yokes and destroys bondages and sets us free. For where the Spirit is Lord, there is LIBERTY.
We grow in knowledge, stature and favor with God as we feed on His Word and His faithfulness to reveal Himself to us when we draw near to Him. We grow in our relationship and intimacy with Him as we abide in Him and His Word abiding in us. We grow in our oneness and unity with Him until His Word is without resistance in our hearts. It is when we hear Him speak, we harden not our hearts and without delay respond, “Be it done to me according to Your Word, Lord.” This is where we position ourselves to experience the supernatural move of God.
OBEDIENCE changes the outcome, but it is obedience as expression of our love for Him as we respond to His great love for us and not out of compulsion. He said, “If you love Me, you will obey My commandments.” (John 14:15) Is it His love that fuels and sustains us to obey.
OBEDIENCE is not just about doing when we hear “you do this, or you do that!”. There is more to it. Every Word that He speaks are incorruptible seeds that are to be received, nurtured and cultivated in our hearts for us to explore and experience.
When His Word says, “By His stripes, we are healed!” (Isaiah 53:3) Hmmmm … this needs obedience from our hearts. We receive it by faith in spite of the opposing symptoms that we are feeling. The more we abide in Him and His Word abiding in us, the more we break the opposition when we make His Word the final authority in our lives.
When His Word says, “Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that He lavished on us! He has called us and made us His very own beloved children.” (1 John 3:1 TPT), we receive it by faith. For us to be confident that we are called to be His sons and daughters, we need to hear and know His spoken Word. Apart from it, the assurance of the outcome will never materialized. It is when we are rooted and grounded in what He has spoken and revealed to us that makes us undoubtedly secure who we are in Him.
By faith, what we do in the natural will have an effect that is limitless and boundless because we do it in obedience and conformity to His Word. What we do, we believe that the Presence of God in the power of the Holy Spirit is one with us. It is our life’s union with Him that gives us the power and ability to do the impossible.
It is the same way with what speak in accordance to His Word. Our words are designed to be established when mixed with faith. It fuels our faith for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
When Jesus speaks, things change. Because we are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Dear Son (Romans 8:29), you and I are fashioned and fabricated the same way when we are in Christ. His Word says, “As He is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17) Therefore, our words become spirit and life to us and to those around us. As we speak, His Word becomes His presence that gives life.
What then is God speaking to you that brought change?
I had a struggle with two people around me. It was nothing serious though, but I just did not like the way I behaved and responded to their complacency and irresponsibility. You see, we cannot control how people behave, but what we can do is know how to deal with them that will bear good fruit.
It went on for a few weeks and I asked the Lord to help me see what is needed to be done.
Because the Lord promised that when we ask Him, He will answer us and show us mighty things that we do not know, He indeed answered me in His powerful Word.
“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” (Romans 15:1) And on verse 5, it says, “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another in accord with Jesus Christ.“
Ouchhhh …. Truly He teaches us and disciplines those He loves. Thank You, Jesus.
One thing that made my heart hopeful, graceful and joyful is the revelation that He is the GOD OF ENDURANCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT Who gives me the strength to bear whatever it is that comes my way. It is not by my own sheer will to do so knowing that in and of my own ability profits nothing but frustration. His grace is sufficiently supplied and His strength is made perfect for my weakness. Only then I can live in harmony, graced by His abiding presence.
His Word changed me. His Word became life, living and powerful in me. His Word became Spirit that when I yielded and walked in it, I no longer fulfilled the dictates of my flesh. It changed the way I thought about them, the situation and it indeed bore the fruit of unity and harmony. His Word changed the outcome of our circumstance. Praise be to the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Truly, “this superabundant grace is already powerfully working in us, releasing within us all forms of wisdom and practical understanding.” (Galatians 1:8) and “the Holy Spirit is the ONLY ONE Who defeats the cravings of our natural life. So then the two incompatible and conflicting forces within us are our self-life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:17 TPT).
When Jesus read the scriptures from Isaiah, the people who heard marveled by how He spoke. It was all because His Word became spirit and life. His Word became the Presence of God that filled the synagogue. He spoke with power and authority for He was anointed with the Spirit and power that He may go around doing good, healing all who were oppressed by the devil for God was with Him.
In Christ, we are the temples of the Holy Spirit. We are carriers of His presence and we are to be more aware of Him than our very own breath. But, it takes time spent in His presence to build this kind of intimacy to be able to constantly recognize and be reminded that the lives that we live in the flesh we live by the faith of the Son of God Who loved us and gave Himself to us. We have been crucified with Him, yet we live, but no longer us. It is His life living in and through us as His Spirit is dwelling in us.
Our lives are no longer our own. We have been bought by the precious Blood of the Lamb of God so you and I will be fully filled and flooded with the richest measure of His divine presence to walk on earth representing Him, diffusing the fragrance of His love, His goodness, His grace and all that He is. We trust in the Lord with all of our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. In all of our ways, we acknowledge Him and it is He Who will direct our paths.
This is the identity that He intended for us to have, to be and bear the image of His Son, that is only possible when we believe that He lives in us and He lives His life through us with our full reliance in His power and ability. It is never by our might nor by our power, but by the Spirit of God.
Let us then be reminded that it is in the stillness of our hearts that we come to see who we are, our heavenly identity, as we meditate His Word day and night, that becomes our mirror of Who He created and designed us to be.
The world around us has its own definition of us. Most are contrary to how God defines us. If we allow the dictates of this world to define who we are, we are putting ourselves in turmoil. These are the winds and the waves that bring havoc and have the ability to tarnish our identity. Instead, we allow the voice of the Lion of Judah to be louder and be amplified that brings peace and stillness into our hearts where He as the Prince of Peace is enthroned. He spoke to the storm and it ceased. That should be the effect of His Word with His breath to us.
“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.” (Isaiah 26:3-4 AMPC)
I’ve read this quote once and it never left me. “We cannot see our reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see.”
We can only be still when we know that God is God, He is good and that He is a Rewarder of those Who diligently seek Him. With this revelation knowledge, it changes the way we see ourselves through the light of His Word. It changes the way we pray, the way we worship, the way we speak, the way we treat others and the way we live our lives.
“I have told you these things, so that IN ME you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” (John 16:33 AMPC)
The Holy Spirit was poured unto us to visit this world with His power to overcome anything that does not bring pleasure to Him in our lives. It is He Who is all the while effectually at work in us, energizing us, creating in us the power and ability both to will and to do according to His pleasure, delight and satisfaction. But, He will never force to do what He intends to do without our cooperation. He will patiently wait for us to know Him and to know how much He loves us for us to trust Him with all of our hearts and say, “Here I am, Lord, I am Yours.”, and fully yield to His leading.
Our intimacy with Him is where our maturity as His sons and daughters is founded on. And our maturity makes us respond freely to the voice of our Living God through the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. As new creations in Christ, His Word is near us, in our hearts and in our mouths. We are now being led from the inside out.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” (Romans 8:14-17)
When we fully yield to His leading, we rest.
When we fully yield to His leading, we make Him known.
When we fully yield to His leading, we become agents of change.
When we fully yield to His leading, we become channels of blessings.
When we fully yield to His leading, we resemble Him as His sons and daughters.
When we fully yield to Him, we have food that people around us know nothing about, for man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
When we fully yield to Him, His Word become flesh as we speak, for He promised that when we decree His Word, it shall be established for the light of God’s favor may come on our way.
“Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.” (Isaiah 60:1-3)
As the body of Jesus Christ, we make things happen as we yield to His leading. We are His hands and feet. We are His mouthpieces that decree His Word and they shall come to pass. We are His masterpieces that people will see and know that there is a God Who makes WONDERS with our lives and is faithfully committed to it.
What He has done in our lives are prophecies to those around us who would see it and experience it themselves when they know that it is all about the finished work of Jesus Christ that made us victorious, overcomers and more than conquerors.
His Word is the lamp upon our feet and the light unto our path. With His light shining in and through us, we will find the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, for nothing is hidden from the Lord. He is the ALL-KNOWING GOD. He will make known to us those people who are crying out to be saved, to be safe, to be rescued, to be made well, to be healed, to be delivered from bondages, to be preserved, to be protected, to be provided and to be made whole. These are the treasures in His heart that you and I are called to speak life to and life be. He intercedes through us by speaking to us and in response we declare them into existence.
Isaiah 42:9 “Behold the former things have come to pass and new things I NOW DECLARE. Before they spring forth, I WILL TELL YOU OF THEM.”
Jesus was THE SEED that was sown into this world to make known the love of the Father. We received THE SEED into the fertile ground of our hearts and eventually bore fruit that people have tasted and seen. Those fruits have seeds and now, you and I are the seeds sown to the four corners of the earth to carry the same divine purpose of making Him and His love known through our unity and intimacy with Him.
“We have become His poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny He has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, Anointed One. ” (Ephesians 3:10 TPT)
