Kingdom Culture

We are co-heirs with Christ and co-laborers with Him for His Kingdom’s expansion.  Partnering with fellow believers and seeing God’s kingdom made manifest on earth as it is in heaven is one vital revelation that you and I are to grasp.  We do it not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God.  It is a Presence based culture.  We are called to carry His presence wherever we go, whatever we do, and our weapon is His LOVE in-filling us and out-flooding through us and our heaven key is to pray!

“So I give you now a new commandment:  LOVE each other just as much as I have loved you.  For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you are my true followers.”  (John 13:34-35 TPT)

I was part of a cultural dance group years ago.  Each dance that we studied and rehearsed was uniquely, carefully and intricately choreographed according to the specific moves, music and costume of a particular tribe.  It was indeed a wonderful experience that although many of us haven’t gone to those real places where the origin of the songs and dances came from, the mere fact of being trained to carry and portray with excellence and precision each one of those dances was a privilege to gain knowledge of how distinct and special they are.

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a get together event with my co-dance group whom I haven’t been in contact for years.  I had a wonderful time remembering those times as each dance was mentioned and how we used to perform before, as the new and current generation danced and sang in front of us.

In a couple of months, they will be representing our country to a particular dance festival abroad.  When the group head was sharing with us the questions that were asked during their visa interview, I caught a powerful revelation about culture invasion.  She simply said, “We are in a CULTURAL MISSION!”  The interviewer asked her to explain further what it means.  She said, “Cultural Mission is to bring awareness of our own country’s culture expressed through singing and dancing, equipped with our local props and musical instruments to a foreign place.”  It is indeed introducing our country’s customs and traditions, attitudes and behavioral characteristics conveyed and articulated in music and arts.

Hmmmm … so how about us as believers of Jesus Christ?  What is our mission and great commission?  Yes, we have our own privileged functions in our society as full time mothers, doctors, nurses, teachers, entrepreneurs, drivers, engineers, pastors, etc, but much more to these is to carry Jesus in our hearts Who is the HOPE of glory in our everyday lives.  We are not to compartmentalize our lives, that we only talk about Jesus when we are in church.  We are to introduce and bring awareness the GOOD NEWS about the GOODNESS OF GOD to those around us and tell them how much He soooooo loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Beloved Son for He desires no one to perish but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)  He desires the world to change the way we think about Him. And by the power of our changed lives as results of our divine encounters with His goodness, He makes us vessels to carry out this invasion.

This is kingdom of God invasion.  In truth, we are not just here to make the kingdom known to the sphere of influence where He positioned us to be, but to take it further that those who encounter Jesus in us will have an open heart to desire, seek and pursue their own encounter and adventure with Him that would bring life transformation.

However the Holy Spirit will lead us each day to carry and express His kingdom, we yield.  I so believe that He doesn’t have a bunch of regulated rules how He desires to flow with us leaving Him no room to express Himself however He sees fitting.  He is an all-knowing God Who powerfully knows every fiber of our being and what ways and means are most appropriate and effective in touching individual lives, He will reveal to us.

Our secret is to pray, constantly and consistently be connected to the Vine, aligning our thoughts and ways to His, for apart from our intimacy with Him, fruitlessness is inevitable.  No branch can stay alive and bear fruit if we do things independent of Him.  No wonder He called us to be poor in spirit, meaning, be NEEDY and NEEDFUL of Him.  A heart that is thirsty and hungry for MORE of Him will be filled, as the sap of His presence flows into the branches, that’s us, feeding and nourishing us and causing us to overflow with His love, mercy and grace.

In the journey of discovery what His will for us and through us each day is such an awesome honor and privilege, and the beauty lies on the truth that His mercies are NEW and FRESH every single morning.  He fuels us with His love at the onset of each day and sustains us through it.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
    great is Your faithfulness.”  (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)

He woos each of us to co-labor with Him.  He sealed and marked us LOVED by Him to love, BLESSED to be a blessing, SHOWN MERCY to be merciful, GRACED to release grace, PROVIDED to bring provision, FORGIVEN to forgive, PEACEFUL to bring peace, JOYFUL to bring joy, COMFORTED to bring comfort, COUNSELED to bring counsel, FREED to bring freedom, HEALED to pray for healing and FILLED OF HOPE to bring hope.  There are countless more ways to invade our earthly culture with the culture of His kingdom and the best part of it all is that, “He is with us ALWAYS“.  Truly, with Him, nothing is impossible.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Kingdom invasion happens in our everyday lives. Our influence is built on how we live not just by our words but backed up by the power our transformed lives as testimonies of His goodness. We are to be the living epistles where His words speak powerfully through our lives that those around us will read the Bible even without literally reading it.  It is when our lives become invitations for others to know Jesus, wanting and willing to be a part of His flock whom He cares and love beyond measure.

“Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.”  (2 Corinthians 3:3)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You, for choosing us to carry Your presence to the ends of the earth.  What an honor and privilege indeed that You chose us to co-labor with You, never leaving us or forsaking us, but YOU ARE WITH US ALWAYS, encouraging us, gracing us, strengthening us to carry Your kingdom to the all the world bringing Your heavenly atmosphere to invade the earth by the power of Your love, in Jesus’ Mighty and Precious Name.  Amen!
