The surprises and suddenlies of God are always amazingly beyond comprehension. At all times we are caught wonderfully unaware of His thoughts, ways, plans and purposes for us that are unheard of. This is why we are to approach and meet each new day with a new perspective for this is where we find times of refreshing in His presence in seeking Him first.  His mercies are NEW every single morning that are loaded with benefits.

Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! (Psalm 68:19)

I sometimes wake up in the morning inquiring of Him, “LORD, what are Your thoughts of me right here and right now? I know that You are ALWAYS thinking of me. And if they are more than the sand in the sea, what specific thought You have of me at this very moment?”

More often than not, He allows me to see a scripture differently that causes my heart to burst and burn. What a wonderful SURPRISE indeed!  It feels like I was one of the two men walking with Jesus on the road to Emmaus. 

“And they said to one another, “Did not our heart BURN within us while He TALKED with us on the road, and while He OPENED the Scriptures to us” (Luke 24:32)

When He speaks through impressions, dreams, visions or what have you, those words affect every fiber of my being that when it is time for declaration, even my affections align with them.

Sometimes, instead of making me pursue what He is thinking of me, He allows me to see His SURPRISES for those around me. We may think these are just simple thoughful things that we think and do to whoever He calls us to, but mind you, He authors it and when He does His glory is attached to it. He loves to co-labor with us to make His beloveds experience His love, mercy and grace with His suddenlies.

One day, a sudden prompting in my heart arose to organize a small surprise birthday party for a good friend. It just came the night before her birthday. I called up her family if they were available and up to it, and to my surprise, they all agreed. The venue was in my house which made it more exciting for me.

As I was preparing for the things necessary for the party, it brought so much delight in me.  Ideas were just poured in, how I would arrange the tables and chairs, what food to order, what color of balloons we will use, etc.   When we all finally came together with what we have, everything came up to a different level.  It was a wonder to witness what we prepared for my friend.

As the designated time was nearing, we positioned ourselves as to how we can catch her expression! We were all so pumped to the point of laughing crazily as we waited for the celebrant. We were having the blast of the day but the celebrant had no inkling whatsoever what was about to break forth.

Then, I thought, could it be that this is how our Daddy God feels when He is about to surprise us? He never sleeps nor slumbers and is always on a lookout how He can catch our attention and touch our affection. He is more than excited to bless us than us wanting to be blessed.  Then, I remembered waking up early in the morning and heard Him say, “‘My delight in you is a breath of fresh air to you.” When we meditate day in and day out how He delights in us, times of refreshing happens and new ways, new thoughts, new surprises, new benefits come.

When the celebrant finally arrived, she was “overly” overwhelmed by the thought of it. She never had any plans of celebrating, but our Daddy God wants to celebrate His beloved! He already laid out the plans for this specific day, but He needed someone to catch His heart of love and execute them.

Our steps are indeed directed and established by the Lord and it is He Who BUSIES HIMSELF with our every step.  Surely He knows His wonderful plans for each one of us every single day and as we journey in hearing Him and us yielding into His Lordship, we posture ourselves to be His co-laborers of His kingdom.

“The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].”  (Psalm 37:23 AMPC)

Moments like these are OPEN heavens when He gives us the desires of His heart for His beloveds.  And as we flow with the unforced rhythm of His grace, the outcome of His leading is always glorious where we all can give Him all the glory, honor and praise.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You, for opening door of opportunity for us to be expressions of Your love for Your people. Thank You, Jesus, for giving us life to enjoy and celebrate. Thank You, Holy Spirit for revealing to us the things that has been freely given and gracing us to walk in them. We pray that You continue to make us more sensitive to Your heartbeat and partner with You touching lives and changing the earth to be filled with Your glory.  Amen!
