“Yet, Christ paid the FULL PRICE to set us FREE from the curse of the law. He absorbed it completely as He became a curse in our place. For it is written: “Everyone who is hung upon a tree is doubly cursed.” Jesus, our Messiah, was cursed in our place and in so doing, dissolved the curse from our lives, so that ALL the blessings of Abraham can be poured out upon even non-Jewish believers. And now God gives us the promise of the wonderful Holy Spirit Who lives within us when we believe in Him.” (Galatians 3:13-14 TPT)
The “what ifs” in life take us on a journey of uncertainty. Everything around us changes. Challenges come and go. We hear a lot of people saying that the only thing that doesn’t change is the word “change”. But, thank God Who is rich in mercy, Who loves us with His everlasting love, is the same yesterday, today and forever. The promises of His Word are the same yesterday, today and forever. The GREAT I AM is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the Beginning and the End. He is the First and the Last. He is the Alpha and Omega.
“Heaven and earth will disintegrate before even the smallest detail of the word of God will fail or lose its power.” (Luke 16:17 TPT)
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” (Isaiah 40:8 ESV)
We hear opinions of people here and there about inheritances. The two top most in the list that I know of are the blessings of being an heir to properties, wealth and riches handed down from generation to generation and the generational curse of sickness and disease. It denotes that if a father or mother suffered or died of a certain disease, most likely the next generation would suffer or die of the same because it flows from the bloodline.
Hmmmm … our minds have been programmed to think this way and mind you, our lives will go according to what we believe and correspond to our most dominant thoughts. No wonder a greater percentage of people experiences such for His Word says, “people perish due to lack of knowledge, rejection of knowledge and forgetting the knowledge of the truth of the Word of God (Hosea 4:6). This is what I consider “bad news”. It only sees and says the limitation of one’s human intellect that can never go further than what people hear and see. It is something that people are expecting to happen just because of lineage, thus, living a life driven by fear.
But, PRAISE BE TO OUR LIVING AND LOVING GOD our Heavenly Father Who gave us His Son. It is the GOOD NEWS of the finished work of Jesus Christ, the divine redemptive antidote, that takes us beyond the obvious, into our confident expectation of good because our God is GOOD!
“Christ has REDEEMED us from the CURSE of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Galatians 3:13-15 NKJV)
The curse of the law includes sickness and disease, lack and poverty, and death. Jesus Christ REDEEMED us from all these when we received Him as our Lord and Savior. We are no longer bound to the generational curse through our physical bloodline, for when He bought us back to Himself by shedding His own precious blood, we now have a new bloodline.
Furthermore, Jesus hung and died at the cross because He KNEW the law which says that “he who is hanged is accursed of God” (Deuteronomy 21:23). He desired to redeem us from every curse of the law, so He went to the cross, “having become a curse for us”. Jesus took ALL our curses at the cross, so that we can take ALL His blessings.
The Lordship of Jesus Christ in our lives destroyed every curse there is brought by the sins we commit. It is written, “Without the shedding of His blood, there is no forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:17; Hebrews 9:22)”. Think with me on this .. if His precious blood gave us perpetual forgiveness and the cross redeemed us from the curse, what then is left for us to partake and experience? They are the blessings of His obedience to the Father.
Jesus fully obeyed even up to the point of death FOR THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM, seeing us reconciled back to the arms of the Father and enjoying every blessing that He has originally ordained for us to have. Jesus said, “the thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I CAME that they may HAVE and ENJOY life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” (John 10:10 AMPC)
The very way to experience this is to BELIEVE and CONFESS Jesus’ lordship in our lives and what He has done for us. Nothing is automatic just because He spoke it. With humility we need to RECEIVE the implanted word of God that is able to save our souls (James 1:21). We are to meditate His Word until it becomes a part of us. Our lives can only go as far as our thoughts can take us. Thus, a renewed thinking is necessary. When we change the way we think congruent to the Word of God, our lives changes accordingly.
The Holy Spirit is the Revealer of all truth. It is He Who breathes and gives life to the written word. He will freshly speak to us. He will make it personal and experiential. He will sustain the relevance of the Word forever resonating in our hearts.
His Word says, we can only receive the promise of the Holy Spirit THROUGH FAITH (Galatians 3:15). Apart from faith, it is unfeasible to connect with God, let alone please Him. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
When we have Jesus in our hearts, the Spirit of sonship becomes alive in us that causes us to call God, Our Father. Apart from Jesus, a “Father-child” relationship can never be achieved, hence, many call God, God. But those who have a covenant with Him in Christ can call Him, Father. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO ONE comes to the FATHER except through Him. No one can come boldly before our Father without first being washed and cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb of God, made blameless and pure. We are the righteousness of God IN Christ, thus, He opened the way for us to have an intimate relationship with Him.
As I previously mentioned, many believe that what a physical father or mother has, especially when it comes to sickness and disease, there is a likelihood that the son and daughter might have, too. BUT, when we were REDEEMED, and our Heavenly Father became our Father Who gave us a NEW IDENTITY as NEW CREATIONS in Christ, old things have passed away and ALL things become NEW (2 Corinthians 5:17). There is a NEW mindset that we are to have, cultivate and pursue. We are to think that what our Heavenly Father has, we have. We have a NEW bloodline and He made available for us the riches in glory of the inheritance of the saints that is imperishable, undefiled and forever abounding when w are in Christ.
There is no sickness in Him, therefore, how can we have it? He said, ALL THAT I HAVE IS YOURS. In Christ ALL THINGS CONSIST. He is healing and He is healer! The Blood of Jesus is now our NEW bloodline that postures us to BETTER PROMISES where every spiritual blessing has been made given to us.
We have a choice what to believe and we become what we believe. We are a work in progress. We grow in the things that have been revealed to us until they become experiential. Whatever the Holy Spirit reveals to us, the things that He has freely given us, we receive it, take hold of it, meditate on it, take ownership of it, until we talk and walk in it.
Sometimes we let other people carry away our blessing by allowing their opinions to be more convincing than what Jesus and His Word is speaking to us. We are not to let our minds be rented out to anything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God if we are to walk and live our lives according to who He called and chosen us to be. If He says we were HEALED by the stripes of Jesus Christ, we submit to God and His Word and resist the lies of the enemy manifested in symptoms and he shall flee.
If a physician and medications are needed, do so, but our hope and trust should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of the living God if we desire to have peace in our hearts and minds while in the midst of the going through.
To have faith is not denying the fact. It is believing the truth of God’s Word to be superior and allowing it to have the final authority in our lives. We do not let a fact change what we believe. We let what we believe in the promises of His Word change the facts, “for not one promise from God is empty of power.” (Luke 1:37 TPT)
“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. (Hebrews 11:1 AMPC)
There is a good fight of faith that He ordained for us to have. It is to fight FROM THE VICTORY that Jesus WON for us. He conquered and overcame sickness for us by the power of the stripes that He bore on His body, thus, we fight as a champion resisting every punch that is a lie of the enemy that we may be feeling in our bodies. We do not fight to be victorious! We re-enforce the victory that Jesus secured for us. It is a guaranteed victory. thus, it is a good fight because we have been declared victorious from the beginning, even before there was a war or a challenge arose. God gave us the keys to bind sickness and loose the healing power of God through the declaration of our words. He gave us the full armor to fight against the wiles of the enemy. BUT we have to KNOW WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST!
Bottomline is that it is our heavenly identity in Christ that will secure our victory. When we know and are fully persuaded Who our Father is, Who Jesus is and what His finished work has done for us, Who the Holy Spirit is dwelling in us and we know who we are in Him as His beloveds, the apple of His eye, the object of His affection, just as Jesus said, “the enemy has NOTHING in Me”, we are to say the same way. How can the enemy take a place when we are convinced that we are FULLY FILLED and FLOODED by the Holy Spirit? His word says, give NO ROOM for the enemy (Ephesians 4:17). Do not give him any opportunity. Do not give him a foothold. That means, if we do not allow him to have any access to our thought-life, he won’t gain any territory. Our minds should have the sign: “OCCUPIED” by the Word of God.
Keep hearing and hearing the Word so our faith continues to grow. Keep meditating the Word of God so our minds get renewed and our lives get transformed.
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)
If His Word can get TO US, His Word can get THROUGH us. We can only give what we have received. When we walk in the blessings that Jesus made available for us, our testimonies become a spirit of prophecy to our others. Our lives become living epistles that those who even have not heard of a Bible can read His Word and experience the One Who dwells inside of us.
We have FULL access to everything for which Jesus died and experience all these things in our lives. But the BLESSINGS do not end with us. We are being positioned, graced, empowered and anointed to touch those around us with His love and grace and bring wholeness and freedom. To touch those who are weary, tired, sick and see them strengthened, healed and restored. To bring hope to the hopeless, to bring courage to those who are in despair, to bring freedom to those in bondage, to find the lost and bring salvation. To cause the Kingdom of God to break into our world, bringing light where darkness presently reigns.
This is our Heavenly Father’s desire, that the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of Who Jesus is, Whom He has sent, and His glory be manifested as the waters cover the sea.
You and I have been called and chosen to diffuse His love, mercy and grace to those whom He called us to reach that they may TASTE and SEE that the Lord our God is GOOD!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great love that You sent us Jesus to redeem us from the curse of the law, so that we may receive the promise of the Holy Spirit by faith. Thank You for calling and choosing us to be born of You, giving us a NEW identity of being NEW CREATIONS in Christ. Thank You for calling and choosing us to be the temples of the Holy Spirit. We receive the promise of Your spoken Word that, “If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and we are that temple.” (2 Corinthians 3:17) We trust in You. We lean on You. We rely on You. No plague can come near our dwelling. No evil shall touch us because we dwell in the secret place of the Most High God Whose power no foe can come against. Amen!
