“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His UNDERSTANDING IS UNSEARCHABLE. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.” (Isaiah 40:28-29 ESV)
At this day and age, what is most vital in our lives is to be firmly rooted and grounded in the steadfast love of the Lord that never ceases, never fails, never gives up and never runs dry. When we do not throw away our confidence in His love, we shall be rewarded.
There is a shaking that is going on around us. Unemployment rate is increasing. Crime is unbridled. Health is at stake. Financial provision is unstable. Virus is seemingly unmanageable. Anxiety is gripping most people. There are a million and one distractions and destructions around us that fight for our attention and affection, to take up residence in our minds and in our hearts. And fear is confronting so many, as people believe that no one knows what tomorrow will bring.
But the good news is, the Lord our God knows and He holds our future. If he holds the whole universe in the palm of His hand, don’t you think we should be securely held in it as well? He said, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; NO ONE will snatch them out of My hand.” (John 10:28)
He is the Omniscient One, the ALL-KNOWING GOD, Who declares the end from the beginning. And the best thing is that, He Who knows everything about us, the good and the not so good sides, is wildly in love with His children. With this revelation, we can be still for there nothing else we can do to make Him love us less, in the same way there is nothing we can do to make Him love us more. God is love and He deeply loves us. PERIOD! How unsearchable indeed is His understanding of us.
Our Abba Father is so able that there is nothing that He cannot do and He is so loving that there is nothing He will not willingly do for us when we ask in alignment to His will for us. More so, when we have a revelation that each day is made by our God Who is GOOD, daily we will have a GOOD reason to rejoice and be glad in it.
What we need is to find time to be in His presence, to behold His beauty, to sit at His feet and hear His Word. It is the “ONE THING” that is needful; and just like Mary, we are to choose that good part, which shall not be taken away from us (Luke 10:42). Time is never wasted when we spend it with Him. We get maximized benefits, a refreshed spirit, a renewed mind, a revitalized body, every time we choose to dwell in His secret place.
I love the analogy that Sarah Young, the author of Jesus Calling, has about our minds. She said, “A refreshed, revitalized mind is able to sort out what is important and what is not. In its natural condition, your mind easily gets stuck on trivial matters. Like the spinning wheels of a car trapped in mud, the cogs of your brain spin impotently when you focus on a trivial thing. As soon as you start communication with Me about the matter, your thoughts gain traction, and you can move on to more important things. Communicate with Me continually, and I will put My thoughts in your mind.”
To put resistance to the pressure this WORLD is offering us every single day, we give value to the WORD of God that enables our spirit, soul and body to be re-calibrated. His Word is to be our plumb line, our standard and final authority in life.
When He says, “Be anxious for nothing ..”, in humility we receive the implanted Word of God which is able to SAVE our souls. To SAVE means to heal, to make right what is wrong in our lives, to align what is out of sync, to bring wholeness, to preserve, to prosper. When fear, cares, panic attacks, depression and anxiety creep in, the Word of God is ABLE to SAVE our souls, which is our minds, our wills and our emotions. When we submit to what He is saying, we resist the lies of the enemy and he shall flee.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-8)
The surest foundation that we have to be firmly grounded on is to know the Lord our God, our Father Who deeply loves us. It is of utmost necessity for us to trust in His unsearchable understanding, that when we cast our cares to Him because He cares for us, there will be no hesitation on our part, not an iota of reluctance, knowing that we will always be accepted as we are, yet He will never allow us to remain the same because our intimate encounter with Him in His presence changes us. Who He is will rub off in who we are, and we become like the One we behold.
God does not want us to be fearful. He always reminds us not to be afraid for He is with us and not to dismayed for He is OUR GOD in Whom we can trust. He desires for us not to be anxious for anything. If He says it in His Word, then it is His will for us.
“My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.
I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed and I will do it.” (Isaiah 46:10-11)
We are to turn our worries into worship. Turn them into prayers. Our connectedness with Him increases our capacity to be convinced that whatever it is that we need, He is mighty and able to make a way even when there seems to be no way. He is The Way. When He said, “Be anxious for nothing ..”, that only means we have a choice and He is telling us not to be anxious because He’s got our backs covered.
It is also of great importance for us to know that when we make our requests, our prayers and supplications, be made known to Him, He answers us. He promised that when we call upon Him, He will answer us and show us great and mighty things that we do not know. We need to trust in His goodness and constantly feed on His faithfulness, leaning not on our own limited understanding but relying completely in His understanding that is unsearchable. Thus, such assurance causes us to give thanks even before we see the manifestation of an answered prayer. That is faith.
Faith is an assurance of what is to come that is based on what God has promised in His Word for not one of them is void of power. Once He speaks and His spoken Word finds an open heart to receive and be planted, surely it will bear fruit in due season.
Jesus Christ is the exact representation of our Heavenly Father. He came to reveal to us what The Father is like towards His sons and daughters. And for us to know The Father is to believe in the One Whom He sent.
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? (John 14:9
Moreover, Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” (John 5:19 NIV)
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.” (Hebrews 1:3 NIV)
And in John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.”
“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38)
Jesus demonstrated the will of the Father. When Jesus healed the sick, that means it is our Father’s will for us to be healed. Why? Because He loves us. When Jesus delivered the demon-possessed man, that means freedom and deliverance from bondage are our Father’s will. Why? Because He loves us. When Jesus multiplied the bread and the fish, that means it is our Father’s will for us to be provided for according to His riches in glory. Why? Because He loves us. He takes pleasure in the prosperity and well-being of His people. It is His delight when good things happen to His sons and daughters. Why? Because He loves us. If you are parents, will you not take pleasure, too, when you see your children prospering? How much more our Heavenly Father towards us?
In the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples, He mentioned, “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.” (Matthew 6:9-10) If heaven is full of light, so shall our lives be because the Kingdom of heaven is IN US. If there are no sickness, disease, lack, poverty, division, conflict in heaven, it should be so in our lives because the Kingdom of heaven is IN US (Luke 17:21). His Word says, “The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17), and we are the temples of the Holy Spirit.
Yes, it may be a challenge for us to believe that God IS love and that He so loves you and me, IF we allow what is going on around us to define what LOVE is. Our experiences should not determine the goodness of God let alone how loved we are. Instead, we let His goodness and His love change our our condition.
It indeed takes faith for us to believe that the Lord our God Who is great and Almighty would personally take notice of us. Apart from His Word, it is impossible for us to know what He is like. Apart from Jesus’ powerful demonstration of the love of the Father, we will never taste and see what it is like to have Someone Whose eyes are upon us 24/7, with His thoughts of us that is more than the sand in the sea. He is beyond comprehension and His understanding of us is unsearchable.
This revelation still continues to powerfully ignites fire within me every time I think of Him being so mindful of man.
“Look at the splendor of Your skies,
Your creative genius glowing in the heavens.
When I gaze at Your moon and Your stars,
mounted like jewels in their settings,
I know You are the fascinating artist Who fashioned it all!
But when I look up and see
such wonder and workmanship above,
I have to ask You this question:
Compared to all this cosmic glory,
why would You bother with puny, mortal man
or be infatuated with Adam’s sons? (Psalm 8:3-4 TPT)“
Truly, when I go out at night, gazing at the stars, having in mind that the Lord our God spoke them into existence, how beautifully radiant they are, and until now they are suspended and sustained by the Word of His power, and then I look at myself thinking that I am His precious possession and the object of His affection, the feeling is beyond description. Mind you, the darling of heaven, Jesus Christ, was sent for you and me, redeemed us so that we can be reconciled back into His presence again and KNOW HIM, TALK with Him and WALK with Him in the cool of the day and night. Try it yourself and see the greatness, the magnificence, the awesomeness of our God and how small and delicate we are, yet He sees us amazingly significant before His eyes.
When Someone this BIG is on our side, who dare be against us? When He Who lives inside of us is greater than who is in this world, fear should not take hold of us. When He Who created us is madly in love with us, this revelation should cast out our fears away.
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror!” (1 John 4:18 AMPC)
The Holy Spirit is the One Who pours the love of God in our hearts. His Word says, “For God will NEVER give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7 TPT)
What is fear? I read an acronym before, that it is False Evidence Appearing Real. Just as faith is a confident expectation of good, fear on the other hand, is a confident anticipation of something bad. If faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God which is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, fear at the same time comes by hearing and hearing bad news.
We have a choice where to lend our ears to. We have the free will to choose whether to believe on what God has spoken and His Word is the same yesterday, today and forever, or to be believe in opinions of man that is here today and gone tomorrow.
We grow by what we drink. The Word is likened to the living water and man as trees.
“BLESSED (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives NOT in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.
But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.
And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].” (Psalm 1:1-3 AMPC)
We grow by what we eat.
“Jesus replied, I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me will never thirst any more (at any time).” ( John 6:35 AMPC)
These spiritual food and drink are necessities for us to be spiritually strong. Its effect is not only limited to the nourishment of our spirits, but also to our souls and bodies.
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in HEALTH, just as your SOUL prospers.” 3 John 1:2 NKJV
God’s understanding is unsearchable. It is unfathomable and beyond exploration. His thoughts of us and plans for us are immeasurable, but we need to be fully persuaded of His insurmountable and unconquerable loving care for each one of us.
When someone goes through a difficulty in life, we always hear her/him say, “You just don’t know what I am going through.” Yes, no one can really delve into the core of one’s being, but the good new is, our Heavenly Father does. His understanding is beyond ours, and He can go as deep as we allow Him to and trust Him completely.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
We worship while we wait. We wait upon the Lord. Waiting upon Him is not waiting for the manifested answer to our prayer, but waiting for the One Who is and Who has the answer.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unsearchable understanding, that even when I do not understand what is going on around me, I can fully trust in You with a confidently expectation that only and surely goodness and mercy shall pursue me all the days of my life because of the One Whom You sent, Jesus Christ. Thank You, Jesus, for Your great love that is way beyond my ability to comprehend that You willingly gave up Your life at the cross for me so that I may have life and have it more abundantly. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for unveiling my eyes to see a new attribute of Who my Heavenly Father is that I may experience Him just as You have revealed Him to me. Amen!
