Bountiful means abundant, ample, plentiful, galore, generous, liberal in bestowing gifts or favors giving or providing many desired things or in large amounts. When we know that we have a Daddy God like no other Who is all-mighty in power and the source of much more than what you can dare think, dream or imagine, it is then possible to pray this prayer … “Deal BOUNTIFULLY with Your servant that I may live and keep Your word.
As I was regurgitating on this verse, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to see the wondrous things written in His Word. When God gave His only begotten Son, He gave His love bountifully. When Jesus was whipped, bruised and broken, He paid our sickness and diseases bountifully. When Jesus Christ died at the cross, He gave His life bountifully. When He was raised from the dead, conquered the grave and emptied the tomb, everything that was bound by the forces of darkness have been bountifully released. When the Holy Spirit was sent to abide in us forever, His presence and power is now IN us bountifully.
To pray bountifully isn’t just limited to money or the things of this world. Yes, it surely includes it but not limited to it. He Who was rich became poor that we may be made rich. Jesus left the riches of heaven for you and I to experientially know what it means to live a “heaven on earth” life.
When I prayed for sales for our store, truly He dealt with us bountifully that caused me to be in awe of how good our Daddy God is. I became a witness of His word becoming flesh, manifested before my very eyes. This is not just because I prayed, but I did it when He revealed to me this particular verse and I believed and held on to the faithfulness of the promise-keeping God like “light piercing in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:5)
Daddy God has no lesser sons or daughters. He sees us all as the apple of His eyes. He is no respecter of persons … what He can do to me, He can do to you and what He can do to you, He can do to me. It’s just a matter of how we perceive Him to be. If we believe that His sovereign goodness can be influenced by the desires of our hearts, why not go for it and believe for it to manifest. He desires to be believed that He is good and how committed He is to our good.
These are the days prophesied by prophet Hosea that “the people will tremble in awe of the LORD and of His goodness.” (Hosea 3:5 NLT) Mind you, we haven’t seen anything yet. We even haven’t scratched the surface of how good He truly is and I believe we will never come to a point where we exhaust the vastness of His goodness.
Jesus indeed came to deal bountifully with us and opened our eyes to see the wondrous things written in which He is about to manifest before the eyes of those who believe.
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may HAVE and ENJOY LIFE, and have it IN ABUNDANCE (to the full, till it overflows).” John 10:10 Amp
