Deeper!

I always desire to start a new year pressing in for more encounters with the One Who knows no impossibility.  Getting to know in a DEEPER way the One Who is without limits postures us to explore and experience Who He is, how willing and able He is to lavish us, His sons and daughters, with His love demonstrated without measure.

I have always been fascinated by how Andrew, Simon’s brother, responded to the words of Jesus to Philip. “WHERE will we buy enough food to feed all these people?” (John 6:5 TPT)

The question raised was WHERE and Philip answered, “Well, I supposed if we were to give everyone only a snack, it would cost thousands of dollars to buy enough food!” (John 6:6 TPT)

In verse 8, Andrew, Peter’s brother, SPOKE UP and said, “Look! Here’s a young person with five barley loaves and two small fish … but how far would that go with this huge crowd?”

Think with me on this, for Andrew to even mention a very small portion of food brought by a little boy against thousands of people around them, I wonder what kind of life the disciples had when they were with Jesus. They were so exposed to being with the One Who supplies our needs according to HIS RICHES in glory in Christ.  It is provision that is said to be pressed down, shaken together and RUNNING OVER!  He is the God Who is able to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT WE CAN DARE THINK, DREAM OR IMAGINE!  It is a kind of exposure to the realm that NO EYE HAS SEEN NOR EAR HEARD WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM!

When we think and meditate on these things, SURELY our faith will not remain as the same measure as it is.  Instead, in His word, the Lord summons us to make our thoughts go higher to align into His thoughts where open heavens are available.  When our thoughts become higher, our ways follow.  We don’t work to get faith for He already gave each one a measure, but we develop it to see MORE of Who Jesus is as we use it day in and day out.  The just shall live by faith.

Much more to Andrew’s suggestion, he SAW Jesus TOOK the barley loaves and the fish and GAVE THANKS to God.  He then gave it to the disciples to DISTRIBUTE to the people. Miraculously, the food multiplied, with everyone eating AS MUCH AS THEY WANTED. (John 6:11 TPT)

When everyone was satisfied, they gathered up the pieces of left over and the disciples filled up 12 baskets of fragments. Jesus exceeded what they needed.

This was just one miracle the disciples saw at one point in time.  How about the rest of the days they walked with Jesus?  His word even says, “Jesus did many other things as well.  If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” (John 21:25 NIV)

I so believe that every time we get our faces in the Bible, we open ourselves to the influence and invasion of His Kingdom that knows no bound and knows no end.  In truth it says that it is the INCREASE of His reign and rule that has no end and it is His zeal that will accomplish it.   It will not happen automatically without our hearts yielded and conformed according to His will and His will is in His word.  We are to meditate His word that causes our minds to be renewed, refreshed and reset to be ready to get enlarged.  We need to be needy of Him.  We need to seek Him.  We need to be constantly and consistently, intimately connected to the One True God and let His face shine upon us, let His presence fill us, let His light radiate in and through us, and let His love fill and flood us.

It is not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God.  He didn’t ask us to understand Him to obey Him.  Our understanding is never a pre-requisite to our obedience, but He issued an invitation for us TO KNOW HIM AND TRUST HIM with all our hearts, leaning NOT in our own understanding.  He woos us to acknowledge Him in all our ways and He shall direct our paths.

Do you want to walk in the supernatural? Let’s get soaked in His presence and know  Jesus deeper for Who He truly is.  It is in the knowledge of knowing HIM that begets wisdom and understanding.  When we know Him, we begin to know ourselves for as He is, so are we in this world.  We have been created according to His image and likeness and gave us the honor and privilege to co-labor with Him for His kingdom to invade our lives that His glory will cover the earth it as the waters cover the sea.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Jesus, the HOPE of glory.  It is the kind of HOPE that is a CONFIDENT EXPECTATION that we will see You GOODNESS and not the kind of worldly hope that a human mind thinks of, unsure of things to happen.  It is an expectation that comes from You Who never disappoints nor lets us down.  Thank You for Your word that is both timely and timeless giving us the assurance that it shall come to pass.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for revealing to us what has been freely given that we may have and enjoy life to the full.  Thank You, Jesus, for making all things possible.  Amen!
