It has always been impressed in my heart that COMMUNION means the Lord telling me, “Come in union with Me!” In as much as we long to be with Him, He longs for you and me much more than we want to.
Communion is remembering what Jesus has done at the Cross. Our eternal FREEDOM from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His marvelous light was paid for by His Precious Blood ONCE and FOR ALL. What He has done, no one can reverse it and eventually NO ONE CAN DENY IT.
It is an act of remembering that “I’m no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God!”
Passover in Exodus was freedom from physical slavery of the Israelites from the Egyptians but Passover today is freedom from being slaves to fear and condemnation in the eyes of our Holy God. He Himself demonstrated His perfect love by giving us Jesus, His only begotten Son that we can come boldly into His throne of grace and obtain mercy in time of need. His Precious Blood secures us in perfect union WITH Him and IN Him and the depth of our intimacy with Him is beyond comprehension.
Thank You, Jesus.
