You Matter To HIM

To experientially know God’s mindfulness of us is to consistently be mindful of Him.

There is no other way!

Our heightened awareness of His presence in our midst, cultivated through worship and fellowship with Him, is what postures us to experience Him, to recognize His nearness, hear His voice, and encounter the reality of who He is.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)

When I became a believer, born anew in Christ, born of God, a phrase I had heard over and over again became a reality to me:

“If it matters to you, it matters to Him, too.”

It dawned on me that nothing is too big, too insignificant, or too personal to bring before God. If it matters to us, it matters to Him, because He deeply cares about every detail of our lives.

This truth must be deeply rooted and ingrained within us, so worldly perceptions cannot shake this reality of being and living under our Heavenly Father’s care.

There are times when I think of or dream about something and I see it come to fruition, I believe it is because He thought of it first, and in those moments of intimate fellowship with Him, I simply caught a glimpse of what was already in His heart and took it as my own.  This is how much He cares for us affectionately and cares about us watchfully (1 Peter 5:7 AMPC).

One of the deepest desires of my heart is to attend this specific online worship training school. I wrote it down in my vision notebook a couple of years ago. The only thing standing in my way is that I am not currently involved in church ministry which is a prerequisite for enrolling.

But, God has His awesome way of surprising me.

In a few days, I’m heading to California for the Ladies Conference. I originally scheduled my flight to land three days early so I could spend quality time visiting my friend and her family. That was MY PLAN.

However, there has been an unexpected shift in her schedule that will now take up her free time, so PLAN B needed to be thought of.

While praying for an alternate plan, I came across an event announcement from the church hosting the Ladies Conference. They are holding a worship training just before the event starts, and amazingly, it is open to everyone.  Praise the Lord!  Without a blink of an eye, I registered.

Who says Plan B is inferior to Plan A? With God, every step takes us from one level of glory to another. He knows what brings us genuine joy and is far more eager to shower us with His goodness than we are to receive it.  He is more excited to give it to us than we are to ask for it.

I so love this phrase quoted by Smith Wigglesworth … “God is more than eager to answer than we are to ask.

Therefore, when He says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18), we are to submit to His commands.  Even when things do not go our way, we can trust Him completely, knowing that His thoughts and His ways are infinitely higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

A week after this awesome shift, in the quiet stillness of my heart, I heard Him whisper: “I thought of you, and I created this worship training just for you.” God truly delights in zeroing in on us, capturing our deepest affection in a way no one else can.

Amazingly, the very next day, I heard a preacher say of his airplane, “God made this for me,” reinforcing just how personal His care really is and brought a beautiful confirmation.

People might say, “That was just a coincidence!” But with millions of messages online, why did I land on that exact video? God does not do coincidences.  It was not random.  He directed my steps with a clear, divine purpose and that was to bring full conviction and confirm the very word He had already spoken to my heart.

His Word says, “In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)

One key lesson I have learned over the years is that God speaks to us first and confirms it later. This keeps us from chasing after other people’s words. We must lead with what the Lord has personally spoken to us, allowing outside testimonies to confirm His voice and simply affirms what He already revealed.

I so love what I heard the other day, “Don’t pray and press on until God hears you.  He hears you perfectly.  Pray until you hear Him speak to you.”

Be fully persuaded that the Lord our God is ever and forever mindful of us.

How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!  If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awoke, [could I count to the end] I would still be with You.” (Psalm 139:17-18 AMPC)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for Your immeasurable, precious and weighty thoughts toward me. They surround and protect my heart, making me completely inaccessible to the opinions, voices, influences and expectations of the world.

Thank You, Jesus, for being my Shield and my exceedingly Great Reward. You are the Word made flesh Who speaks of what belongs to me because I belong to You.

Thank You, Holy Spirit, for continually revealing how deeply I am known and valued.  Knowing I am always on the Lord’s mind anchors my true identity in Christ alone.  Amen!
