“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  (2 Corinthians 5:17)

As new creations in Christ, we are clothed with new power to embrace God’s possibilities and bring them into reality.  He has birthed within us new desires, inspired by the breath of His divine purpose and perfect will for our lives. As we continually meditate on His Word, our minds are renewed day by day, establishing within us new realities that align with His truth and His will.  The words we speak are filled with grace, seasoned with salt, bringing edification, encouragement, and life to those who hear them (Colossians 4:6). Our daily walk reflects the love of Christ, demonstrating that we owe no one anything except to love one another (Romans 13:8).  

In every thought, word, and action, we reveal the transforming power of our new life in Him.

In Galatians 6:6- (The Living Bible), it says “Your old desires were nailed to the cross with Him; that part of you that loves to sin WAS CRUSHED and fatally wounded, so that your sin-loving body is no longer under sin’s control, no longer needs to be a slave to sin, for when you are deadened to sin you are FREED FROM ALL ITS ALLURE AND IT’S POWER OVER YOU.  And since your old sin-loving nature “died” with Christ, we know that you will SHARE WITH HIS NEW LIFE. 

To speak of sin is not limited to the blatant acts of wrongdoing—those outward expressions that openly defy God’s moral standards without shame.  It also includes the less obvious and more subtle sins of the heart, such as pride, fear, unbelief, jealousy, or self-reliance. Scripture broadens our understanding of sin when it declares, “Whatever is not from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23). This reminds us that sin is not merely about outward behavior but also about the inward condition of the heart. Anything that does not proceed from trusting God and His Word falls short of His righteous standard.

One may ask, why do we need to become a new creation in Christ? 

It all began in the Garden of Eden with the fall of mankind. Humanity, originally created in God’s image and likeness and endowed with His divine nature, fell into a sinful nature through the disobedience of one man, Adam. Sin entered the world, and with it came separation from God, corruption, and death.

But praise be to the Lord our God, Who is rich in mercy and abounding in steadfast love! He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to accomplish what no one else could. Through His perfect obedience, His sacrificial death on the cross, the shedding of His precious blood, and His glorious resurrection, Jesus completely reversed the consequences of Adam’s disobedience. Where the first Adam brought sin and death, the last Adam brought righteousness and life.

Because of Christ’s finished work, all who believe in Him are made new and become partakers of the divine nature. Through Him, we have escaped the corruption that is in the world caused by sinful desires and have been restored to fellowship with God. We now have the privilege of living in the righteousness, holiness, and victory that Christ has secured for us through His suffering, death, and resurrection.

How awesome is our God! He does not call us to partake of His divine nature by our own strength or ability. Instead, He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ, whose finished work on the cross has made us new creations. What we could never accomplish through our own efforts, Christ has fully accomplished for us.

And He did not leave us to live this new life on our own. He sent the Holy Spirit to abide in us forever, empowering us to walk in the reality of who we are in Christ. It is never by our own might or by our own power, but by the Spirit of God working in and through us that we are enabled to live as partakers of His divine nature. Every victory, every act of obedience, and every evidence of transformation is the work of His grace, leaving no room for human boasting but every reason to give God all the glory.

When I first started working as an airline crew member, fear often gripped my heart. My mind was filled with “what ifs,” and anxiety. Uncertainty seemed to surround me on every side. Although I trusted God to some extent, I had not yet come to know the unwavering surety that comes from truly resting in Him.

Then, during one of the darkest seasons of my life, I cried out to the Lord, and He made Himself known to me in a deeply personal way. He proved Himself faithful to His Word: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). From that day forward, “DIAL 33:3” became my forever hotline—my constant reminder that whenever I call upon Him, He hears, He answers, and He reveals His wisdom and His ways.

It was through that experience that my journey of true fellowship with God began. Spending time in His presence through His Word and by His Spirit transformed my life. As I came to know the truth of His immeasurable love, fear gradually lost its grip on me. His perfect love drove out every fear, just as Scripture declares: “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear“ (1 John 4:18). What once defined me was replaced by the confidence and peace that can only be found in knowing and trusting Him.  All glory and praise to the Lord of lords and King of kings!

The times we are living in are filled with uncertainty, yet I have made a deliberate decision to spend time each day meditating on God’s Word and worshipping Him with my piano.  As I do, He faithfully takes me deeper—from revelation to revelation, from strength to strength, and from glory to glory—as I grow in the knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory, virtue, and excellence.

The more I know Him, the more I am convinced and fully persuaded that He knows all things and holds the future securely in His hands. Nothing catches Him by surprise, and nothing is beyond His sovereign care. Because of His promises, that are “YES” in Christ and I say “Amen”, I can rest with confidence, knowing that His plans for me are good and that He will bring me to the glorious future He has prepared.

Therefore, my heart is at peace. It rests securely in His unfailing love and faithful care as I live under His mighty power. No matter how uncertain the world may become, my confidence remains steadfast—not in circumstances, but in the unchanging character and unfailing love of my faithful God, my Lord.

“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” (Jeremiah 29:11 AMPC).  Oh How I love this same verse in the Voice Translation that ends with this phrase …. “NEVER FORGET THAT!”

This is one of the new creation realities that I have personally experienced and continue to walk each day.  His Word and Spirit are transforming me from the inside out to be person He has called me to be and that is to “be still and know that He is God” (Psalm 46:10).  There is none like Him, now and forever. There has never been, and there never will be. He is God alone, and His greatness is beyond compare, beyond comprehension, yet deeply true in my heart.

Because His Spirit lives within me, I no longer live in fear or uncertainty. I live by faith with the  assurance that “greater is He Who is IN ME than he who is in the world” (1John 4:4).  

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great and unfailing love. Thank You that Your ears are always attentive to my prayers and Your eyes are continually upon me. Whenever I call upon You, You answer me and reveal great and mighty things that I could never know on my own—things You have prepared and purposes You are unfolding in Your perfect time.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Savior, my Lord, my King, my Deliverer, and my Good Shepherd. Through Your finished work on the cross, You have translated me from the kingdom of darkness and brought me into Your marvelous light where I live, move, and have my being IN YOU.

Holy Spirit, thank You for Your uninterrupted presence within me and for continually revealing Jesus to me. Thank You for leading me into all truth and transforming me from glory to glory into His likeness. Continue to renew my mind, strengthen my faith, and empower me to walk each day in the fullness of my new identity in Christ.  Amen!
