Worship is giving value to Someone! It is our expression of worth. It is not merely limited to songs although they are the best tools that God has gifted us to express our worship. It is a heartfelt response that we give to Him that places value on Him! When we worship, we always become like Who we worship.
Yes, God created us to be worshipers. He is looking for worshipers NOT our worship! He is looking for hearts that respond in full affection to His love. He is into relationships. He is after a heart of a worshiper that produces deeds to worship. He is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to Him.
“For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 NASB
We have been given a supreme privilege and a great God-given opportunity to respond to His great love in worship. He called us to be worshipers that postures us to be exposed into His mighty and loving presence, influencing ALL THAT WE ARE TO BE CONFORMED INTO ALL THAT HE IS.
Everything flows from our identity of being worshipers, as lovers of the One Who loved us first. Everything that we see, hear, dream … everything about healing, provision, restoration, protection, wisdom, strength, etc., we catch and learn as worshipers. It is in this place of intimacy when heaven’s atmosphere invades the earth’s, making His “heaven on earth” will made known and manifest before our very eyes.
When we put Him FIRST, seek Him FIRST, we have a greater capacity to do everything else that follows in the list. When we love Him FIRST, we become more effective in loving others. That’s having a worshiper’s heart!
Worship isn’t just done on Sundays or just because of Who He is to you this year. It is not a year-end thing nor a year-beginning event! How about the in-betweens? Being a worshiper is a lifestyle. It is when we stop for HIM to be filled by Him that enables us to stop for others who need Him in any way possible … may it be a smile, a tap on a shoulder, an encouraging word, simply greeting the janitors, guards, house helps, drivers, or blessing people with provision, spending time with those whom the Lord leads you to be with, or laying hands on the sick expecting His healing touch to manifest.
Worship = Love
Love is perfected when it is demonstrated not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God. It is HE Who graces us to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. It is He Who enables us to love ourselves. More so, we need His empowering love to love others as ourselves. That’s worship!
Thank You, Jesus …
“For God is great, and WORTH a thousand Hallelujahs. His terrible beauty makes the gods look cheap; Pagan gods are mere tatters and rags. GOD made the heavens – ROYAL SPLENDOR RADIATES FROM HIM, A POWERFUL BEAUTY SETS HIIM APART.
Bravo, GOD, Bravo! Everyone join in the great shout: Encore! In awe before the beauty, in awe before the might. Bring gifts and celebrate, bow before the beauty of God, then to your knees – EVERYONE WORSHIP!” Psalm 96:5-9 MSG
