Jesus is the Word made flesh and dwelt among us!  It is He Who gives water that one will never be thirsty again for it shall become in Him a spring of water.

“But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”  John 4:14 AMP

Water is the symbol of the Word of God as it is expressed in Ephesians 5:26 “The washing of the water by the Word.”  Therefore, meditating is akin to drinking.

Just like drinking water, once it goes into your body it becomes a part of you.  When you meditate on the Word, the same way, it becomes a part of you!  Once it’s a part of you, doing it becomes effortless.  THE EFFECTIVENESS OF YOUR DOING ALWAYS COMES AFTER YOUR BEING!  To do it without revelation (coming from a command from the outside) is “WORKS”, while when you do it with a deep understanding of the word (being revealed inside of you that became a part of you) that woos you to obey it, that my dear friend becomes “WORSHIP”!  Works is by your own ability!  Worship is not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of God!  Obedience is always a response to how God reveals Himself to us that passions us to move in accordance to His Word.

If we want to be prosperous, wise and successful, God has given us one of the keys and that is to meditate on the Word day and night revealed to us by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.  Reading the Word without the light of His presence is merely words but with revelation, they become life-giving words that position ourselves to experientially encounter His breath, His voice, His touch, His presence, His very Being in our midst that powerfully influence the way we think and the way we live our lives.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall MEDITATE on it DAY and NIGHT, that you may OBSERVE and DO according to ALL that is written in it. For then YOU shall make your way PROSPEROUS, and then YOU shall DEAL WISELY and have GOOD SUCCESS.”  Joshua 1:8 AMPC

He gave us the key but we are the ones to use it!  His Word says, “YOU shall make your way prosperous.”  Surprisingly it didn’t say … God will make your way prosperous!  Hmmmm…  He always longs to be involved in our lives, to partner with us, making His ways known to us, but we have a part to play.  We cannot be “brats”  in the Kingdom of God.  In truth He disciplines those He loves.  He calls us “sons” of the Most High God, mature in our ways conformed to His Word.

God is never into dictatorship that we MUST meditate His Word! No! No! No!  His approach is different and long lasting.  He is into building a love-relationship with us that when He opens our eyes to see how good He is and how committed He is to our good, it will be an invitation for us to meditate in His Word and delight in it day and night that makes you and I like a tree planted beside rivers of living water, drawing nourishment from Him alone that causes us to be fruitful by changing the way we think about HIM, Who He truly is and who we are IN HIM, His beloveds.

“BLESSED is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But HIS DELIGHT IS IN THE LAW OF THE LORD,
And in His law HE MEDITATES DAY AND NIGHT.
He shall be like a TREE
PLANTED by the RIVERS OF WATER,
That BRINGS FORTH its FRUIT in its season,
Whose LEAF also SHALL NOT WITHER;
And WHATEVER HE DOES SHALL PROSPER.”   Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV
