Step Out And Trust Him!

No one can exaggerate God and His goodness.  When we try to, He is still way above and beyond our exaggeration and overstatement.  He is the MOST HIGH GOD, therefore no one can be esteemed higher than Him in any and every way.

No one can exaggerate how we hear His voice.  His thoughts and ways are higher.  Besides He is always doing a NEW thing at all times.  Our part is to take time to stop for Him, to listen, watch, see, look and behold the NEW thing that is set before us.  If what we perceive is something that we haven’t heard nor seen before, we take heart and be of good cheer, for He is doing a NEW thing.  Never despise NEW beginnings.

For the past weeks, I have been contemplating on how to invest and increase my resources.  The drive was on all because when 2018 came, one of my desires is to be an extravagant giver/blesser.   We know that unless we are abundantly blessed, we cannot be extravagant in our giving.  From then on, I have been on a look out for ways of doing it.

While in this journey, I have been asking the Lord to open my eyes and see what He is about to do so I could flow, but my heart always goes back to SEEKING HIM and ALL THESE THINGS shall be ADDED to me.  I’ve seen people around me investing and increasing here and there, but the inclination in my heart is to do the ONE THING I desire and that I will SEEK, and that is to dwell in His house, to behold His beauty and inquire in His temple.  At one point, I had to stop pushing into investments because it seems like a foreign realm to me.  I had to keep in mind that He deals with each of us differently and personally according to how He created us to be.  It may be a way for those around me, but it seems like it isn’t the one for me yet.

After a few days, this tug in my heart to experience something new in the area of finances never left me.  It keeps coming back.  Shall I go ahead and step out in faith or not?  There were voices that I heard here and there that made me more confused.

But God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in grace made my heart STILL when I came to realize that He gives us opportunities and open doors to do something if our motives are aligned to His will and not contrary to it.  His amazing love gave me an assurance that even if I go ahead to invest and find out later that what I got into was a wrong lane for me, He will just woo me back into His embrace and lead me to where He wants me to be without reproach.  No one knows the end from beginning but Him.  We may not know what our future holds but we surely know and trust the Only One Who holds our future.

Before we make decisions, YES, we inquire of Him, but how many times we get answers that we hear perfectly?  Sometimes in decision making, what really makes us free to take a step forward is the thought that we are NOT to trust in our ability to hear Him without fail.  Instead, we fully trust in His mercy and grace to lead us in the way we should go and to save and rescue us when we fall, upholding us with His hand.  We are still a work in progress, learning to walk with Him day by day, as He takes us from faith to faith, from strength to strength, from glory to glory.

With much conviction and confidence that comes from our Father’s heart filled with love, it makes such a difference when we are in a crossroad.  Truly His perfect love casts out all our fears away.  It changes the way we think of how He thinks of us.  It boosts us to go ahead and take a step forward with what He has given us, may it be a vision, a passion, a desire, our talents, our time and our treasure.  We are to do something towards what we think the Lord is telling us to do.

In the parable of the talents, it says, “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them.  And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. (Matthew 25:14-15)

If you look at the verse above, the man left his servants and gave them talents without specific instructions what to do with them.  Hmmmm … we are to discover then what we have been given and what do we do with what we have been given.  I believe He entrusted you and I to decide on what to do with the gifts that He gave us in which He leads us by the desires and whispers of our hearts where He dwells.  Our intimacy with Him matters most for this is where our hearts beat in rhythm with His.  It is in the secret place where He reveals to us His secrets.

Yes, we stop, look and listen to heed His voice to the best of our ability. We take heart to be of good courage and put all our trust in Him Who has the ability to speak to us and lead us. Later in life if we discover we are on the right track, Hallelujah! Then, we move forward farther and further. If we miss the mark, Hallelujah! We praise Him for unveling our eyes to see that we’re in the wrong track and bank on His unfailing love to lead us back. We are not perfect but our Perfect Father with His perfect love will perfect that which concerns us when we fall short of His glory.   Only our confidence in Him and in His faithfulness will propel us to do something.

Our relationship with Jesus Christ Who is the Only way to our Father is the key. Absence of this most vital relationship with Him opens us to FEAR.  When fear reigns in our hearts, it paralyzes us.  It cripples us. No wonder the servant with one talent didn’t do anything with what was given to him.  He was too fearful and scared to step out in faith and do something with his one talent.  Instead, he hid it.

“Then he who had received the ONE talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a HARD MAN, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I WAS AFRAID, and went and hid your talent in the ground.  Look, there you have what is yours.’

“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You WICKED AND LAZY SERVANT, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.”  (Matthew 25:24-28)

When we know and trust the finished work of Jesus Christ which is the perfect demonstration of our Father’s love, we make no room for fear.  Jesus is the perfect sacrifice with His shed unblemished Blood Who atoned for our sins forever that reconciled us back into His loving presence.  There is nothing we can do anymore that will make Him love us less or make Him love us more.  His love is steadfast. His love endures forever. And NOTHING can separate us from Him Who is love Himself. This is the confidence that we have in Him which will be richly rewarded.

So be of good courage to do something!  Step out in faith and trust Him! May we become a people found with only one kind of fear and that is the fear and reverence of the Lord that enables us to move and live and have our being in and with Him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You, for giving us the ability and opportunity to hear Your voice and gracing us to receive what has been freshly spoken to us. Jesus, thank You for Your finished work that mercifully and gracefully reconciled us back into our Father’s embrace leaving us no room for fear that cripples us. Truly it is Your perfect love that casts out all our fears away and makes us confident to do something that You have called us to do.  Holy Spirit, thank You for opening our eyes to see new ways that take us to new levels and new heights.  Today is a NEW day and You are doing a NEW thing! Amen!

  1. Powerful message. You exposed what fear does and also provided a solution. This is well written and laid out. This is a needed message, so much bad news, we need to declare like David “I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” Faith or Fear along with expectations that will be met… Thank you and continue to fight the good faith.
