The Worshipful Fear Of The Lord

Do you know that we have entered a season where people will have a reverential fear of the Lord because of His goodness?  Oh yes!!!  It is the kind of goodness where blessings will just profusely pour down yet without a trace of us earning it.  He will awesomely bless us JUST BECAUSE HE IS GOOD!  This is when blessings overtake us all because He delights in us.

“In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the LORD and of His goodness.” (Hosea 3:5 NLT)

One of the reasons why He blesses us is for us to be a blessing.   And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].” (Genesis 12:2 AMPC)

When we know how to count our blessings, then surely we know how to dispense them.  We can only give what we have received from above and the power behind it is LOVE!  We can give without loving, but we cannot love without giving.  That’s the truth!

“For God SO LOVED the world that HE GAVE His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

This is the ULTIMATE blessing we can ever receive, HIS LOVE, and we are graced by the Holy Spirit to be diffusers of His presence, God Himself Who is LOVE.  It is a picture of the dove released by Noah after 40 days and 40 nights of rain, looking for a place to rest.  The Holy Spirit Whose one of the symbols is a Dove is always on a look out for temples, not made by human hands, for Him to make His home and dwell in, where He is welcomed through yieldedness, surrender and obedience.  Then we become stewards of His presence.

He blesses, anoints and empowers us to be a cut- above in everything that we do for us to be the salt and light of the earth.  Our lives are destined to be truthful evidences of His goodness.  We are to be His living epistles read by those around us, taught and led by the Spirit of God.  We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus where He makes us righteous by the power of His finished work and graces us to do things right as He writes His laws in the tablets of our hearts.

“This is the new covenant I will make with My people on that day, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” (Hebrews 10:16)

When He powerfully moves in our lives, His presence will be so evident that to hide the blessings and favors He bestows upon us will be next to impossible.  Jesus is the Light of the world and when He takes up residence in us, what force can put out or put off the One Who is Light Himself?  Indeed greater is He Who is in us than he that is against us. (1John 4:4)  Our lives will shine bright effortlessly that will cause those around us who may be in darkness or hopelessness see the Light within us and find hope in most simple ways we cannot imagine.

“You are the light of the world–like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:14-16 NLT)

I went into a store this week to purchase a gadget.  But before I did, I called up numerous stores that possibly carry the one in particular that I was looking for.  After a number of tries, I spoke to one lady whose store may seem farther than the rest yet she sounded so pleasant, gave me the best deal, and had the most expectant attitude.  Before I knew it, I gave her my word that I will go there that same night.

I reached the place and there she was genuinely smiling when she heard that I was looking for her.  She showed me the gadget and when I finally decided to buy it, she was very quick yet I was warmly dealt with.  I honestly was blessed watching her move.  When it was time to test the gadget, she recognized right away the specific feature that I was looking for without me having to say a word and that really pleased me.  She enjoyed assisting me and I was having fun witnessing the whole thing.

When everything was done and paid for, as I was heading to the door, she kept on thanking me.  Only then she told me that it was her first day on the job let alone her first sale.  She was so happy.  I told her that nothing just happens.  “Of all the stores that I called, the Lord knows where to take me and that is here … to you.   You are blessed and there will be more to come!  God bless you!”  Ohhh  … you should have witnessed the look on her face.  It was priceless.

You see, I was not consciously on a look out to make the Light in me shine bright before mankind.   Our Omniscient God knows where to take us and how He will do it.  His thoughts and ways are indeed higher than ours and all we do is yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit within us.  We cannot be mechanical in what we do.  Instead, we are to develop a lifestyle of flowing and walking in the Spirit which sometimes or most of the time surpasses our intellect.  It is He Who is all the while effectually at work in us, energizing and creating in us the power and desire both to will and to work all for His good pleasure, satisfaction and delight. (Philippians 2:13 AMPC)

Because of that short moment of encounter with the saleslady, I’m sure she just tasted and seen the goodness of God.  Seeds have been sown into her heart that will eventually  grow given the time.  What an opportunity and privilege indeed to co-labor with God in making this earth restored back to being a garden again, the Garden of His presence.

“The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10 AMPC)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for allowing us to see what You are doing and gracing us to swiftly flow as the Holy Spirit leads.  How wonderful it is to witness people’s eyes shine bright when we become partners with You in delivering blessings to those You have called to us to bring them to.  Thank You, Jesus, for shining bright in and through us.  As we steward Your presence, more will be touched that will awaken people’s hearts to personally know You experientially.  Holy Spirit, have Your way as we live and move and have our being in You.  Amen!
