It was now only midday, yet the whole world became dark for three hours as the light of the sun faded away. ⁴⁵ And suddenly in the temple the thick veil hanging in the Holy Place was ripped in two! Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Father, I surrender my Spirit into Your hands.”And He took His last breath and died.

When the Roman captain overseeing the crucifixion witnessed all that took place, he was awestruck and glorified God. Acknowledging what they had done, he said, “I have no doubt; we just killed the righteous one.” (Luke 23:44-47 TPT)

When the “four-inch” thick veil hanging in the Holy Place was ripped in two, the Presence of God in the Holy of Holies exclusively accessed only by a high priest once a year during the day of atonement now became an open heaven for whoever BELIEVES in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

At the cross, Jesus Who became the Son of man and died on our behalf  was fulfilled so that we who are sons of man become sons of God.  “As many as received Him, to them He gave the RIGHT to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12)

At the cross, God made Jesus Who KNEW NO SIN to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

At the cross, Jesus Who was rich, yet for our sake became poor so that through His poverty might become rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9)

At the cross, He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

At the cross, the promise of us being with Him forever has been fulfilled.  “He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support.  [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)!  [ASSUREDLY NOT!]  (Hebrews 12:5-6 AMPC)

In Christ we have a new covenant with BETTER PROMISES, in which the above-mentioned are just to name a few.  It is so because it is HE Who fulfilled ALL the law and the prophets.  He took upon Himself all that we are so that ALL THAT HE IS AND ALL THAT HE HAS become ours.

When Jesus cried out “IT IS FINISHED!”, all our debts He PAID IN FULL and that PAYMENT HAS BEEN REMITTED!  He paid for you and me, therefore we are no longer our own.  He won us from the grips of the enemy and holds us tightly in His hands that no one can snatch us away from Him any longer and that is FOREVER!

“But you are God’s chosen treasure — priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” SET APART as God’s devoted ones.  He CALLED you out of darkness to experience His marvelous light, and now HE CLAIMS YOU AS HIS VERY OWN.  He did this so that you would broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world.”  (1Peter 2:9 TPT)
