How BLESSED Are You?

The gospel of peace is not complicated if we only take God at His Word. But because the default of the programming in our minds were not firmly founded on the TRUTH of Who He is, how deeply loved and cared for we are, what His will and plans are and what the finished work of Jesus has fully accomplished and completed, we are being tossed to and fro by the LIES of the enemy.

But God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in His love for you and me has given us and revealed to us His powerful redemptive keys of what it means to be BLESSED by the power of His revealed word!

I woke up this morning with this emphatic statement resonating in my mind … “How blessed you are!”  Hmmmm …. It was not a question!  It was a declaration decreed over me!

If I were to ask you this question right now … “How blessed are you?”, what will your immediate answer be? Hmmmm …. I’ll leave it up to you for we are all created uniquely and differently, thus, to each his own.  I believe there will be no wrong answers when it comes to this question.

But one vital thing that I realized when those words were echoing within me was the thought of being reminded HOW BLESSED WE REALLY ARE that we ought to be thankful for.

How blessed are you?  How blessed am I?  It is just but norm to initially think of material blessings because these are what we tangibly see.  We do not need to be a rocket scientist for us to figure out and see the blessings around us.  I, for one, firstly thought the same way.  But when these words went on and on in my head, I had to stop.  I took time and thought deeply.  Yes, material blessings are blessings, but these are just by-products of what it really means for us to be blessed.  There is a higher truth that we need to discover, explore and experience.

What does it mean to be BLESSED?

⁃ empowered to prosper

⁃ fortunate

⁃ to be envied because of our relationship with God

⁃ spiritually prosperous with life with joy and satisfaction with God’s favor and salvation regardless of our outward condition

When God created us, He BLESSED us.  This means that before we even came into existence, we have already been BLESSED.   It is in our DNA!  No one and nothing can take this identity away from us … except us.  It may be due to our lack of knowledge of it or we may know it but not believed it.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them;male and female He created them.

God BLESSED them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”  Genesis 1:26-28

When we identify ourselves with the Word that has been spoken about us and to us, know that it is eternal in nature.  His Word is the same yesterday, today and forever.  His Word is spirit and life that is not subject to time and space.  What has been decreed and declared over us, so be it.

The enemy came to steal, kill and destroy our identity as being blessed at the fall, but Jesus restored it back by taking upon Himself all the curses of the law that we may have and experience our BLESSED IDENTITY!  The power of His blood washed away our sin along with all the curses of disobedience by fully obeying God, The Father, up to the point of His death, withholding nothing, FOR THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM, you and I redeemed and restored back into our Heavenly Father’s loving embrace Who sees us BLESSED just as He originally created us to be.

Do you know that when we esteem ourselves BLESSED, it is the reward Jesus’ suffering?  He paid for it!  His life for our life!  “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21).  “For you have experienced the extravagant grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although He was infinitely rich, He impoverished Himself for our sake, so that by His poverty, we could become rich beyond measure.” (2 Corinthians 8:9 TPT)  This is the power of the Divine Exchange that took place at the cross and gave us this BLESSED ASSURANCE.

Truly, the finished work of Jesus Christ (His suffering, death and resurrection) FULLY and COMPLETELY restored our identity back to who we primarily were created to be, BLESSED!

We indeed are blessed to have His Word that reveals to us who we are.  His Word heals our hearts and souls from the experiences that we went through because of our ignorance to our true identity.  His Word touches our bodies and heals us.  His Word illumines our paths that from now on we may live differently because of the revelatory knowledge of what Jesus Christ has thoroughly and completely accomplished that produces in us wisdom and revelation to walk in it.

We are blessed to have the Holy Spirit, the present-day-Godhead resident in us to be with us, leading and guiding us, empowering us to live a blessed life.

We are blessed to know that we have our Heavenly Father Who is crazy in love with us, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.

We are blessed to have a Savior, a Redeemer, a Brother and a Friend.

We are blessed to have people around that we may express our being blessed by blessing others.

Indeed, His desire for us is to be blessed first and foremost spiritually that is everlasting. We go first for what is eternal and not temporal.  Once the eternal is established, the temporal follows.  Thus “we seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be ADDED to us.” (Matthew 6:33)

We are blessed to be saved by the incorruptible power.  His presence always refreshing.  His process always refining,  His grace always enlarging,  His glory always increasing,  His plans always progressing, His love always embracing, His power always assuring.  His faithfulness always trusting!

The One Who declared us BLESSED is faithful and just to fulfill what He has spoken in our lives.
