Worry Not!

What good does it do to us and for us if we murmur and complain? It only re-enforces our focus on our challenges rather than the bigness of our God Who is able and willing to see us through.

“Live a cheerful life, without complaining or division among yourselves. For then you will be seen as innocent, faultless, and pure children of God, even though you live in the midst of a brutal and perverse culture. For you will appear among them as shining lights in the universe, offering them the words of eternal life.” Philippians 2:14-15 TPT

Complaining keeps us remained in our situation. Our lips maybe moving but our challenges stay the same. It expresses unbelief and worry.  Worry in itself is a product of meditating the wrong and negative things.

“Look at all the birds—do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they? So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?”  (Matthew 6:26-27 TPT)

Why not think on things that are praiseworthy?

“So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always.”  (Philippians 4:8 TPT)

Why not think on how MUCH MORE VALUABLE we are before the eyes of our Heavenly Father above everything else that He created?  And because He exceedingly and tenderly cares for us, why not then cast out all our worries and anxieties to Him?

Why not pour out all your worries and stress upon Him and leave them there, for He always tenderly cares for us? (1 Peter 5:7 TPT)

I recently had a very good reason to worry, murmur and complain.  We were expecting shipments from two countries.  Normally, it only takes two to three weeks to get here, but two months had passed and nothing arrived.  We emailed the shipper but got no response at all.   We contacted our local broker but they couldn’t locate where our goods are.  And because we have an upcoming presentation inclusive of those goods, my mind started to listen to all the “what ifs”, but thankfully my heart was at rest.

Instead of succumbing to my negative thoughts, I “happened” to read this verse in Genesis 28:15 “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.  I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that NOTHING JUST HAPPENS.  “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Was I tempted to worry, murmur and complain?  Oh yes, hahaha!  But God is rich in mercy and abounding in love.  That verse in Genesis 28:15 kept me still, knowing that He is with me and will keep me.  He promised that He will never forsake me nor let me down.  My focus then shifted from my challenge and into His presence that caused everything else to become shadows in the light of His abiding and consuming presence.

Before I got conscious of it, my words started to change, declaring those lost goods be found in Jesus Name.  The Holy Spirit in us knows ALL THINGS, therefore, He surely knows where those goods are.  I asked for wisdom and He guided and led me to call a specific person who could be the link to our shipper.

In Genesis 28:16, it says, “Surely the Lord is in this place.” … and I was pointing to my heart as I kept meditating and declaring.  Christ IN US is the HOPE of glory and it is He through our fellowship with the Holy Spirit Who reveals to us the things that He has freely given.  And yes, He gave me wisdom what to do next.  Hallelujah!

Lo and behold, in two days, we were able to hear from that specific person and gave us the details of our shipment.  On the third day, we got our goods.  All glory and praise to our Redeemer Who lives.

He said, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to Me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with Mine. Learn My ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in Me.   For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” (Matthew 11:28-30 TPT)

Why not meditate on how much God so loves us that He gave us His beloved and begotten Son, Jesus Christ?  He is in us the HOPE of GLORY.  Hence, whatever situation we are in, we can always have a confident expectation of GOOD because we have a GOOD, GOOD Father Who is always about doing GOOD, Who is always in a GOOD MOOD and every GOOD and perfect gift comes from Him through the finished work of Jesus Christ at the cross.

Many may think that Jesus only came that we may have the ticket to enter heaven, living with Him for eternity.  But much more to that, He also came that we may have and enjoy a “heaven-on-earth” life, in abundance to the full, till it overflows to others. He came to abolish the enemy’s schemes.

“The reason the Son of God was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the devil.”  (1 John 3:8 TPT)

He came to silence the roars of the defeated one, “our adversary the devil who walks about LIKE a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1Peter 5:8) Take note that he only roars LIKE a roaring lion. He is NOT the lion! He is poised to pounce and throws negative thoughts into our minds until our identity in Christ is tarnished. He is after voiding who we think we are in the eyes of our Father that the luster of our confidence in Christ is destroyed. No wonder His word says, “Do not throw away your confidence which has great recompense for reward.” (Hebrews 10:35)

Thus, we have been told to be sober, be vigilant, be alert and cautious what we allow to enter our gateways namely, our eyes and ears. Garbage in, garbage out! Our lives will always go according to our most dominant thoughts.  “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)

The real roar of the LION of the Tribe of Judah, is the voice of our Good Shepherd Jesus Christ. His Name is the Word of God. He is the Word made flesh and dwelt among us.  When He speaks, the world trembles in submission to His Word.  He spoke the world in to existence and sustains it by the word of His power.  And mind you, He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

We live because He has spoken, He is speaking and He will continue to speak.  After all, He is The Word of God.  It is but divinely normal for Him to speak.  Truly, man shall not live by bread alone but on every word that proceeds from His mouth. (Matthew 4:4)  So, why worry when He says NOT to worry?   Why not raise a HALLELUJAH to the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ, instead of allowing murmurs and complains to get the better of us!

Let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be FULL OF FAITH with thanksgiving praise and worship!

Meditate, meditate and meditate on the Word of God and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God be demolished and every thought be obedient to the knowledge of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)

Yes, we are all guilty of worrying, murmuring and complaining, but there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.  This doesn’t not mean that we have all the reasons to do so.  Not at all!  But because we have been redeemed by the Blood of Jesus Christ, cleansed and made worthy to be the temple of the Holy Spirit, it is His grace, His divine empowerment that is sufficient enough to give us the courage and strength to live above it.

Let everyday be a privileged day for us to glorify God with our mouths.
