You don’t need cool stuff to be important.
You don’t need branded things to be accepted.
You don’t need to show off who you’re not to be loved.
Be yourself.
Live without pretense. Live your life just who you are.
Jesus values you, accepts you, loves you just the way you are.
When you are ACCEPTED by God you are APPROVED by men. (Romans 14:18 ESV)
The pressure of this world is how we get to belong. In relationships, we have the tendency to rush things because we want to belong to someone. We push ourselves at times to its limits just to get accepted but a lot of times we get disappointed. We long to be earnestly looking for love that oftentimes ends in wrong places, wrong persons.
I believe our longitude relationship with God determines our latitude relationship with men. To establish our IDENTITY begins with us belonging to our Beloved. It is He Who fills us with His ALL IN ALL that makes us whole and complete. We seek Him FIRST so that the vaccum in our hearts that ONLY HE can fill gets divinely filled with His perfect love.
A river doesn’t FLOOD OUT unless it is FILLED IN! Nothing forces a river to overflow unless it’s filled. The love of God poured into our hearts is no different. When we get fully filled by His love in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, it will effortlessly flow through us. Instead of longing to be loved, we now are positioned to carry His love to those who are hungry and thirsty to belong.
Can you imagine a relationship with both parties fillled and flooded with God’s love? Friendship and families rooted and grounded in the love of God SURELY will flourish. When we are UNITED WITH HIM in love it empowers us to be OTHERS-CENTERED rather than being SELF-CENTERED! This is the true essence of the Love of God!
“Therefore if you have any ENCOURAGEMENT from being UNITED with Christ, if any COMFORT from HIS LOVE, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being LIKE-MINDED, having the SAME LOVE, being ONE IN SPIRIT and of ONE MIND. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value OTHERS above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the OTHERS.” Philippians 2:1-4 NIV
