Jesus opened the gates of heaven for us to experience a heaven on earth life when He stretched out His arms and said “IT IS FINISHED”, but many of us have “closed heavens” between our ears.

What are we thinking? What are we believing? What are we speaking?  Open heavens are only accessed BY FAITH and that is agreeing with what the Word of God says.  Read the Word!  Meditate it day and night, night and day until IT READS YOU!

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but YOU shall MEDITATE in it day and night, that YOU may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then YOU will make YOUR way prosperous, and then YOU will have good success.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Notice that there are more than one “YOU” in this verse.  That means we have a part to play.  God is looking for laid down lovers who choose, not by obligation, to press in into His Word TO KNOW HIM more and more each day.  It is His utmost delight to reveal Himself to you and me.

To meditate is to chew and chew until we get all the nutrients of what we’re eating but until we swallow what we’ve eaten, it doesn’t become a part of us.  Until we see the Word becoming alive and lived out in our lives, it’s still not a part of us. I finally got it when it says .. Faith without works is dead (James 2:17).

Yes, heaven is the believer’s destination when our destinies are fulfilled and our lives are “finished” in the earth but the reality of heaven can also be tasted and known when we realize that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is the present day resident part of the Godhead living in us.  He is the Spirit of the Father and of the Son WHO equates to the FULLNESS of Who He is. Think about this.

When we KNOW Who lives inside of us, then heaven becomes real because HEAVEN IS ALL ABOUT THE PRESENCE OF GOD where there is NO DARKNESS at all and every corner of that place is FULL OF LIGHT!   Our redemption by the power of the Blood of Jesus took us out from the kingdom of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of His marvelous light.

“Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU.”  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭17:20-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

LOOK AND SEE then Who dwells in you … The Holy Spirit!
The Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven is IN THE HOLY SPIRIT and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM! (2 Corinthians 3:17)   This FREEDOM is a BLANK CHECK that covers anything that you are in bondage of.  Name it, He’s fully paid it!  When we get exposed to the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, FREEDOM REIGNS!

“for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.”  Romans‬ ‭14:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Spend time in His Presence where His mysteries and secrets, His ways and thoughts are revealed in His Word.  Receive it!  Believe in it!  Speak it!  Walk in it!  His Word is LIGHT and heaven’s atmosphere is LIGHT.  When His Word is settled in our hearts, the light of God’s favor will shine on our ways and that’s when  we get to experience a “heaven on earth” life.
