Don’t just stay where you’re at!  GO HIGHER WITH GOD!

“BLESSED be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST …” Ephesians 1:3

We are meant to be EAGLES and not chickens!  We are meant to soar high and higher above the storms of life and we have been blessed to be created that way.  We have been “made alive together with CHIRST and raised us up TOGETHER and made us sit TOGETHER in the HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS.” (Ephesians 2:5-6)  Haven’t you noticed that these two verses are affirming and confirming that we’re not only spiritually blessed IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST but also SITTED TOGETHER IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST?

I was pondering and meditating one day what it means to “soar high” and suddenly I caught this thought that came from Isaiah 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

When our minds are renewed and conformed to what the Word says, then it brings transformation in our lives.  It changes the way we perceive things from the position of being seated in Christ in the heavenly realms far above principalities and rulers of the darkness.  Just as an eagle soars high above the storm untouched by the wind, storms in life then shouldn’t be able to shake us when our thoughts are set on Who God says He is and who are in Him.  Eagles fight snakes by picking them up from the ground and lifting them up to the heights that suffocates them and become harmless and defeated.  No wonder we’re reminded NOT to fight against flesh and blood enemies, BUT against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in the dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 NLT)

When we fight a good fight of faith, we fight using the weapons of our warfare.  His Word is sharper than a double-edged sword.  It is living and powerful. It is like a mighty hammer that smashes a rock into pieces.  When decreed and prophesied with revelation, His  Word is established!

Do you want to go higher with God?  Set aside time of intimacy with Him.  Align your thoughts and heart to His goodness, His mercy, His grace, His love … and not just that … align your thoughts and heart to HIM.  Think of Him!  Be aware of His Presence.  It is in this time of connectedness is where the wooing to know Him more and more is birthed.  It becomes an invitation for you to open His Word, the Bible, not just to pick and choose what verse you like as if in a menu, but He will open Himself up to you in such an awesome way that you won’t be able to resist Him.  He will guide you into all truth.  He will ordain your every step.  He will reveal Himself to you deeper and deeper until His thoughts become yours and His ways your ways.  Before you know it, you’re soaring high like an eagle, not flapping but resting on the wind of the Holy Spirit.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that YOU may observe to do according to ALL that is written in it.  For then YOU will make your way prosperous, and then YOU will have good success.”  Joshua 1:8

God gave us His Word but it is still you and I who make decisions and do what we have decided.  He longs to see us successful and prosperous and His plans for us are to prosper us, never to harm us, to give us a hope and a beautiful future.  Why not take our place and KNOW what His plans and purposes are which are revealed in His Word and soar higher?
