We all long to belong. We all long to be noticed and acknowledged. We all long to be accepted and loved just the very way we are. This has always been the cry of every heart in which most often than not lead people to wrong resolutions.
I strongly believe that this is so because the One Who created us is a very relational God Whose utmost desire is for us to know HIM as a Good, Good Father and for us to have a clear knowledge that we are His sons and daughters. He yearns for us to know that we belong to HIM first.
The source of our character reformation is the LOVE OF GOD. No one can fully and wholly be reformed and transformed apart from Him.
I always go back to look at the cross, when Jesus powerfully demonstrated the Love of the Father. He paid it all with a one time brush stroke of His blood for our sins to be fully forgiven, saved our souls (our minds, our wills, our emotions) and by His stripes our bodies were healed. And with this powerful validation, He reconciled us back to the loving arms of our Father, the only way for us to be made complete and whole.
Our rejection, He paid.
“He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
He was despised, and we held Him in low esteem.” Isaiah 53:3 NIV
Our pain, He took upon Himself.
“Surely He took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered Him punished by God,
stricken by Him, and afflicted.” Isaiah 53:4 NIV
Our sins, He paid.
“But He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities; ” Isaiah 53:5 NIV
For our peace, penalty was paid and for our healing, He was broken.
“the punishment that brought us peace was on Him,
and by His wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 NIV
Our reconciliation, our RE-UNION with our Daddy God is the fruit of the finished work of Jesus Christ Who is the propitiation for our sins, not just for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (1John 2:2 ESV)
When we come to know this powerful truth practically through personal experience, our hearts change. This doesn’t happen overnight but with line upon line, precept upon precept, from revelation to revelation, from glory to glory, we have been invited to personally experience this daily.
It is in the hearing and hearing by the word of God and acting on what we’ve heard is where we open ourselves to encounter His presence. When we do, no one and nothing can talk us out of it nor anyone can explain it. It is a heart to heart encounter with the Holy Spirit being the person dwelling in our innermost being and personality where real and tangible intimate relationship is born and experienced.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit is our Heavenly Father manifesting Himself to reveal to us, as His sons and daughters, His heart of love and in this constant and consistent connectedness, He fills and floods us with Himself.
Being filled with His love makes us confident that we belong, we’re noticed, we’re acknowledged and that we’re accepted in the Beloved. We’ve been grafted in to the family of God like branches forever linked into the Vine. This is when our identity just got redefined.
