When Adam and Eve were walking with God in the cool of the day in the garden, they must have been having a great time enjoying every millisecond of it.  I remembered the very first time I read Genesis, I envied them so much to be in that position of being with Him day and night, night and day until they got trapped by the snare of the fowler that made them choose knowledge over relationship.  They wanted to be “like God” where in truth they were already created according to His image and likeness.  THEY HAD IT ALL but they got persuaded by a mere question “DID GOD REALLY SAY,  you must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1)

Up to this very time, the fowler is still on a lookout.  A fowler is a professional bird catcher.  He lays traps and carefully conceals them so that he can ambush unsuspecting birds.  We all know that with what’s happening to the world around us, he is very real and active, setting up snares here and there, devouring people with his toothless power, inflicting individuals with fear yet hiding himself in disguise beneath the bombings, shootings, outbreaks, viruses etc. etc.

Apart from hiding himself in disguise, one powerful weapon that he uses is to hide our true identity from us.  He deceives us and veils our eyes for us not to see who we really are.  He desires us to concede to be like him, a defeated foe kicked out from the presence of God.  That’s the reason why he bombards our thoughts with fear, guilt and condemnation that we may choose to distance from God especially when we fall short of His glory in disobedience.  Do you know why?  Because that is his identity and he wants us to become like him for him to feel good when we come into agreement with who he is.  Then we become miserable and oppressed.  But when we know the truth of who we really are in the eyes of God and Who God is to us, he is FINISHED!

God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in love already dealt with him 2000 years ago when He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to save us.  He battled against the fowler and triumphed.  He powerfully demonstrated His great love by redeeming us back by the power of the Blood of Jesus Christ and restoring us back into His original plan of calling us to HIMSELF.  He sent us the Holy Spirit to abide in us forever, the very same power Who raised Jesus from the dead. He lives in our innermost being and personality empowering us live a good life, quickening our mortal bodies making as overcomers and more than conquerors.

The Lord knows the end from the beginning and He is in a divine rescuing business from the foundation of time.  See, Who did He send?  HE SENT JESUS!  HE SENT THE WORD!  JESUS IS THE WORD!

He healed us …

“He sent out His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.” Psalm 107:20

He delivered us … 

“SURELY He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from perilous pestilence.” Psalm 91:3

He provides for us…

‘And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” Genesis 22:14

He keeps us safe …

“The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe.”  Proverbs 18:10 NLT

He satisfies us …

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”  Psalm 91:14-16

He gave us life to enjoy …

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I CAME that they may HAVE and ENJOY LIFE, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”  John 10:10 AMP

 

If you’re faced with a challenge, which question would you incline your ear to hear?  “DID GOD REALLY SAY … He will protect you, keep you safe, heal you, provide for you, deliver you, save you and make you enjoy life?  Or will you say GOD DID SAY that He protects me, keeps me safe, heals me, provides for me, delivers me, saves me and makes me enjoy life?  Will you choose to meditate on the truth of His word day and night, night and day believing until you get fully persuaded that strong and powerful is He who obediently carries out His word (Joel 2:11 Amp)?  It is a choice that you give a thoughtful regard of.

Be fully convinced that you and I are created by God to HAVE and ENJOY life.  This is our identity as sons and daughters of the Most High God.  He restored us back into the realm of His presence where we can walk and talk with Him in the cool of the day, not by might not by power but by the Spirit of God.

“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [LIVING A GOOD LIFE WHICH HE PREARRANGED AND MADE READY FOR US].”  Ephesians 2:10 Amp
