Mountain-Melting Presence

IMG_3001

Our God doesn’t reveal to us the fullness of Who He truly is in one go because even with  just an iota of revelation that we have of Him, our minds and hearts cannot grasp how awesome He is.

“I have still many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them or to take them upon you or to grasp them now.”  (John 16:12 AMPC)

No wonder Jesus said, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  (John 14:6 ESV)  If Jesus did not come, it would be next to impossible for us to KNOW the Father, in and of our own ability.    It takes total redemption by the power of the Blood of Jesus that cleansed us, sanctified us, made us pure and holy, for us to come into His presence.  Apart from Him, the Holy Spirit will not be able to abide in us forever, for sinfulness can never be one with holiness.  But God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in love made it possible.

When we become the temple of the Holy Spirit, it is He Who unveils our eyes to know Jesus and when we come to know Jesus, we come to know the Father, for Jesus said, “I and the Father are ONE.” (John 10:30 NKJV).   He also said to Philip, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? (John 14:9 NKJV)

“But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].” (John 16:13 AMPC)

A lot of times awesome things happen in our lives without us connecting the dots.  I have always been a “Presence-seeker”.  I love to pursue His presence where my heart seems to know if I’m in or not.  My mind sometimes questions, but when my heart is still, full of peace and joy, then I know I’m in the midst of His manifest presence.  You and I know and it cannot be denied when it happens.  We don’t need words to fully describe nor explanation to illustrate how it feels, but the knowing in our hearts couldn’t be questioned.  We simply know way beyond a shadow of doubt.

When I’m locked in there, I never want to move from that place of intimacy.  I just want to be enveloped by His awesome presence.  But lately, He has shifted my thoughts as He revealed to me one day that when He comes, He just doesn’t come for nothing.  When He shows up, He shows off what He has prepared for us intertwined in the revelation of Who He is and who we are in His eyes.

When we face challenges, we get magnetized to pursue Him.  Sometimes we can’t wait to pray with a long list of prayer requests.  But one thing powerful was revealed to me lately.

When we seek Him FIRST in our intimate moments with Him, when we praise and worship Him FIRST, our minds and hearts are firstly aligned and calibrated into Who He is … that He is Great and is most worthy of all praise.  He will show Himself mighty and strong.  He will assure us of how He loves us dearly.  He will remind us that He is always with us upholding us with His righteous right hand.  He will reveal to us who we are in His eyes and how mindful He is of us.

Our conversations with God changes the way we think therefore changes our expectations and declarations.  His language is the language of solutions.  Remember that He just doesn’t make a way, HE IS THE WAY.

Do you know that mountains melt like wax in His presence?

“The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.”  (Psalm 97:5 NASB)

When I think of this verse I always imagine a candle.  When a candle is flamed with fire in its wick, the wax around it starts to melt.  When the fire of the Holy Spirit’s presence is around us, our mountains become level ground with shouts of Grace!  Grace!  Grace! (Zechariah 4:7).  I like the AMPC version of this verse that says … our mountains become plains, mere molehills.

God’s language of solutions is a far cry from how we conquer our mountains in and of our own ability.  Every time we come to Him, He will show us how small a mountain can be compared to the bigness of Who He is.  He summons us to believe in our hearts and declare with our mouths that when we speak to our mountain, it shall be moved and be cast into the sea, standing on the truth of Who He is, and that He is WITH us, FOR us and IN us.  He fights the battle for us.  Sometimes He sets our eyes to see that He is Almighty God and He enables us to be strong in Him and in the power of His might to climb up to the highest peak of the mountain and subdue it.

Come to think of it, when we come to Him for help, He will remind us of WHO HE truly IS.  He gives us courage to speak to our mountain how big and awesome He is.  If we come to Him talking about the massive challenge that we are facing, I believe His arms are open to welcome us and have conversations that will reverse the course of our thoughts.  Our God can never be intimidated by our minute insignificant ways. Instead He will just redefine Who He is, who we are IN HIM, what He can do and what we can do WITH HIM.   When we have Him, we can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us.  When we live and move and have our being in Him, He always causes us to triumph in Christ.

When we get so consumed by WHO JESUS  IS and WHAT HE HAS DONE, before we know it, our mountains already melted before we can even think of it or mention it, let alone speak to it.

“But SEEK (aim at and strive after) FIRST of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”  Matthew 6:33 AMPC

Prayer:   Heavenly Father, thank You for unveiling our eyes to see YOU as WHO YOU TRULY ARE.  Thank You for loving us that because of Your great love for us, You sent Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, Who is the exact representation of Who You are.  Thank You, Jesus, for not just showing us the way but by being THE WAY that we may come to know the Father through You.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for always guiding us into all truth, anointing our eyes to knowingly SEE the fullness of the Godhead, our Triune God living inside us and making us Your home.  Amen.
