Our expectations are landing strips for our breakthroughs to manifest. These expectations are from God (Psalm 62:5), as we wait for Him to manifest what He has promised. Yes, there will be instructions along the way. There may be failures that we will encounter, but these are not meant to discourage us. They are simply there for us to learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit as we journey our lives in Christ, as He takes us from strength to strength, from faith to faith, from glory to glory.
We hear a lot of surveys that Monday mornings are said to be “moanful” Mondays. They are viewed as depressing, pressuring and oftentimes the worst time of the week. It is purely because it is the start of another cycle of this 5-day work related week.
Do you know that what we hear affects our expectations? If our expectation is grounded on this thought, then our eyes will be geared towards looking at it the same way. This is how powerful our thought-life is. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) It begins to cloud our perception with hopelessness and “hope deferred makes the heart sick.” (Proverbs 13:12). Subsequently, our words will align itself to our thoughts and when they are spoken we create an avenue for those words to come to pass. No wonder Mondays are said to be with “more common heart attacks”.
I for one experienced Mondays to be a “heavy-footed” day for me. More so is because my car needs to be at my workplace before 7am. That means I have to get up at 4:30am every single Monday let alone leave from my office after 8pm. As I am growing in the knowledge of God’s goodness, that His plans are always to prosper me each day and never to harm me, giving me a confident expectation of good at all times, my perception changed. He made me see what to look forward to on Monday mornings as the sun breaks through the horizon. They are awesome sunrises that became my morning devotions. He is our Daddy God Who never fails to show up and show off His magnificence that fills our hearts with Himself.
The photo below I perceive to be “A Kiss Blown from our Heavenly Father”, where the Sun is His mouth and the clouds are His kisses that impregnated the earth’s atmosphere with His love.
The other side of our building always has a different view. One Monday morning, I saw a flight of stairs in the clouds that for me spoke of “New ways! New Days! New Levels!
On another Monday morning, I saw this beautiful cloud formation that was so significant for me. I perceived it as an “Open Heaven!”.
Our God desires to speak to us all the times. We only need to dial in into His frequency to be able to get a crisp and clear way of communication. He shows us signs and wonders assuring us that He hears us each time we get on our knees and pray. Every single day is indeed an opportune time to be expectant for the good things that He has in store for us.
God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in love desires to change the way we think not just on Mondays but every day. We are to see every morning with His new and fresh mercies that filter our eyes to see His goodness. The hope of a new day dawning is supposed to bring joy into our hearts. He says in His word, “This is the day the Lord has made. We will REJOICE and BE GLAD in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NLT) We rejoice and be glad all because we KNOW that our day is made by our good, good Father, and when it’s made by Him that means it’s full of good things that come from His goodness. JOY, JOY, JOY is what we need. Joy is not dependent on what is happening around us. Joy is steadfast as we get aware of His presence with us, upon us, for us and in us 24/7. Indeed, in His presence with FULLNESS OF JOY. (Psalm 116:11)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for unveiling our eyes to see the beauty of not just on Monday mornings but every single morning. Thank You for always reminding us of Your faithfulness which is surer than the rising of the sun each day. As we daily declare Your loving kindness, we shall see. As we daily seek for a face to face encounter with You, we shall experience You. Thank You, Holy Spirit for a new beginning with refreshed eyes to see things every morning with new hope, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
