Sun Stand Still Prayer

Joshua refused to ask for insignificant things. He asked for an unreasonable and impossible prayer and the Lord granted it.  For with God, all things are possible.

Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “SUN, STAND STILL over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon. So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the people had revenge upon the enemies.’ (Joshua 10:12-13)

Joshua was full of confidence because written on the verse prior to these verses, the Lord spoke a promise to him proclaiming his victory before going on a fight.

“And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand; not a man of them shall stand before you.” (Joshua 10:8)

He believed, therefore He saw.

Daniel who was thrown into the Lion’s den all because he didn’t conform into the laws decreed by the king that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except the king, shall be cast into the den of lions.  He did nothing wrong in the eyes of God but persecuted and punished in disobeying the rules of men.  He believed and He saw the glorious goodness of God.

“Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever!  My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” (Daniel 6:21-22)

The woman with the issue of blood believed and therefore saw!

“And behold, a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment; [Matt. 14:36.] For she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health. Jesus turned around and, seeing her, He said, Take courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well. And at once the woman was restored to health.”  (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:20-22‬ ‭AMPC‬‬)

David said, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.”  ‭‭(Psalm‬ ‭27:13‬ ‭NKJV)‬‬

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever therefore you and I are qualified to believe in this truth that all things are possible to those who believe.

I normally ask the Lord to reveal to me where to travel for the next year during this time of the year, the second quarter.  A lot of times, I would just have a strong desire in my heart whom to visit next.  The all-the-time thrilling part is always concerning my finances.  It’s funny to think that I travel each year “all by His grace and His provision”, but each time I get to the next, I  still feel apprehensive on how He will see me through.  With Him, it’s never the same way, therefore it is but wise for me to inquire of Him and hear Him speak.  I was sensing a leading for me to head towards New York and left it at that until my next seeking time.

In my heart I know that He never fails.  After all these years of believing for my yearly travel, He always comes through.  When I read about Joshua, Daniel and the woman with the issue of blood, my heart was quickened to believe and was reminded that He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  If God did it then, He will do it again now.  Sometimes we feed on our testimonies of His faithfulness in the past and be encouraged.  These testimonies of His goodness show us His very nature as a Good Good Father Who delights in giving us the desires of our hearts. And if we believe in our hearts that He is  Perfect Father Who is looking out how to bless us NEXT, then our hearts get quieted.  If an earthly father knows how to give good gifts to their children, how much more will our Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:11)  Indeed our testimonies are spirits of prophecy where we can be strengthened to believe that He is faithful to fulfill what He has promised.

Unbelievably believable hahaha!, I was taken aback to be overtaken by His provision for my next year’s trip.  Oh how the Lord has bared His holy arm before me that I shall SEE His salvation towards my finances (Isaiah 52:10).

A friend of mine who lives in New York asked me to buy something for her.  It was such immediate that I only had 24 hours to purchase what she needed.  In the course of our conversation through text, I suddenly got an invitation with a full-fare ticket to visit her.  I was obviously overwhelmed  by how quickly it all happened.  It was so spontaneous and instantaneous.  I never saw it coming but God had it in His timetable to ambush me with such a beautiful surprise.

Truly when we ask in the mighty name of Jesus, He answers us.  Our confidence comes when we know how mindful He is of us.  He sees us with knowledge and compassion.  He hears us every time we pray.  His favor surrounds us like a shield.  He goes before us and He is our rear guard.    Everywhere we look BLESSINGS!  How awesome it is to know that He has already sealed my trip to New York next year.

You may not consider this as a “SUN STAND STILL PRAYER”, but for me, it surely is.  I so believe that no matter how small or big our prayers are, His supernatural way  of meeting them is what I consider “sun stand still answered prayer!”  For Him, healing a headache is no different from healing cancer, but in our eyes, we perceive both differently.  To Him they are both the same with Him being our ULTIMATE HEALER.  With provision, it’s the same way.  Him providing lunch for someone is as powerful as giving me a full fare provisioned trip to New York.

There is only one way for Him to meet our needs and desires and that is supernaturally NATURAL.  We know that our minds are renewed when the supernatural becomes our natural.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for depositing Your Spirit in us that we may perceive the supernatural things as our natural, not by might nor by power, but by Your Spirit.  Thank You, Jesus, that only in Your name we shall see the petitions that we have asked of You.  There is power in Your name and when Your lordship is established in our lives, salvation comes and freedom is experienced.  Amen!
