There Is More! And Yes, More There Is!

Just as I was booked to fly to Sydney, Australia for the Hillsong Conference 2018, THERE WAS MORE! God indeed has limitless blessings in store for us. He is the source of all and His resources can never be exhausted.

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”  (2 Corinthians 9:8)

Isn’t it so of God confirming the theme for this year’s Hillsong Conference “THERE IS MORE!”? He makes sure that His plans are powerfully witnessed as we journey every single day.

When someone dear to my heart who lives in New Zealand came to know that I was heading for Sydney, she offered an all-expenses paid side trip for me to visit them. Isn’t our Daddy God awesomely good? Who can outgive His divine exceeding generosity? Who can measure the depth, the height, the length and the width of His love for His children? No one! He is all-surpassing in every way and His only desire is for us to know and believe Who He is and what manner of Father He is.  He is One Who is extravagantly lavish in every way.

Sometimes, when our desire is met, we see it as a destination, only to know that when we get there, there is MORE that He has in store. Just as I thought I would be exploring Sydney for the very first time, He didn’t stop there.  He added MORE to my travel … to Auckland.  Exceeding our expectations is His forte and fulfilling them is His delight.

Hmmm … I never saw it coming but He did.  He already knew that I would be going on a quick side trip.  Most of the time He hides it because our hearts oftentimes cannot take the awesomeness of His being that flows out from His great plans and purposes for us.

“Oh, there is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t understand it now.” (John 16:12 TLB)

Abraham was told to leave his country and that further instructions will be given once he gets there. He believed and His faith was demonstrated by his actions. He packed up and left until he got to where God wanted him to be.

“The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1)

The next verse was the promise of awesome blessings if Abraham would act on what has been commanded to him!  “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2)  You and I know that he did.  And because we are seeds of Abraham in Christ, we have this glorious inheritance.  Thank You, Jesus, that You made the way.  You paved the way.  You ARE the way.

As we take one step at a time, He is taking us farther and further.  He is the one who orders the steps of the righteous and leads them by His eye. I used to wonder how He does it but His word says, when we become born again, when we become born of God, as we acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we shall SEE the kingdom of God. He opens our eyes to see even the littlest blessing coming our way as a mark of His leading. He prompts our hearts to hear His heart and as we take a step, we discover Who He is and what He is willing and able to do, which is exceedingly abundantly above and beyond what we can dare think, believe, dream, or imagine.

Our hearts and minds can only take “this” much. I believe this is the reason why He doesn’t give us the full blueprint of our lives.  He never hides anything FROM us, but He hides them FOR us.  It is always for our own benefit.  His timing is always perfect.  He shows us things when our character is ready, having the capacity to carry the weight of His goodness revealed before our very eyes. He unveils portions as we walk with Him and trust Him completely that He has got us covered. He goes before us and He is our rear guard. He is the wall of fire around us and the glory within us. Everywhere we look BLESSINGS, all because His presence clothes us with endless possibilities.

Walking with Jesus is entering into a world of wonderful secrets, mysteries and surprises. It is a place of MORE! More knowledge of Him and His word, more divine encounters that are yet to be uncovered layer after layer, mystery after mystery, miracle after miracle, treasure after treasure, surprise after surprise.

He is inexhaustible! Yet in His infinite generosity, He takes us into the journey of “one glorious step at a time!”.  He is a very personal and intimate God Who takes pleasure in our every step, unveiling our eyes to see MORE of Him every step of the way.  It is a journey of knowing Him much more than anything else.  It is His utmost desire that we will come to KNOW HIM in ways that is uniquely patterned according to how He intricately designed us.

Knowing Jesus in intimately way opens up a world of glorious and endless discovery and opportunity, equipping us in every way that would give us the confidence to take a step farther and further for the MORE that He has for us. He will not take us to a place where He will require of us something that we do not have nor cannot give. He knows us much more than we know ourselves.  He knows the end from the beginning, therefore He knows where He’s taking us next.  And the next is always MORE!

“But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven!”  (Philippians 3:20 MSG)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for the MORE that You have in store for us.  Thank You for keeping us in the way we should go and guiding us with Your eye that we may see and acknowledge You in all of our ways.  Thank You, Jesus, for paying the utmost price that we may be able to partake the feast that You have prepared for us to enjoy.  The power of Your blood made us worthy to be blessed.  The power of Your resurrection graces us to move in the MORE that You have planned and purposed for us.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for abiding in us, showing us the great and mighty things that we still don’t know, yet You reveal them to us from one glorious surprise to the next.  Amen!
