God’s Treasured Possession

For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.”  (Deuteronomy 7:6 ESV)

How awesomely honored and privileged are we to be called holy to the Lord our God, chosen to be His treasured possession?

To be holy means to be set apart specially for His use.  It is to be fully His with His seal of ownership, to be loved and to be at His purposeful and glorious disposal.

To be chosen is to be the object of choice or of divine people elected by God.  That means He hand-picked us and called us “by name” to be His own, to be loved by Him. He choses those whom He reveals Himself to.

To be His treasure is to be seen and considered of GREAT WORTH or VALUE, esteemed as rare and  precious to His sight and the greatest validation to this is how He paid for you and me because if His great love for us. Our Heavenly Father gave us nothing less than His only begotten and beloved Son, Jesus, Christ, Who gave up His life that we may have His life.  He gave us the Holy Spirit to abide in us forever as a guarantee that the possibility of being separated from Him can no longer exists.

To be His possession is to be owned, occupied, enriched with every detail of Himself, filled and flooded with the richest measure of His divine presence that we may be called to a body filled and flooded with Himself, filled and flooded with love beyond measure.

How we live our lives experiencing as His treasured possession has always been my continual question.  Praise be to the Lord our God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in love, Who always has His ears open to our cries.  “Every persistent person will get what he asks for.  Every persistent seeker will discover what he needs.  Everyone knocks persistently will one day find an open door. (Luke 11:10 TPT)

His word says, “If imperfect parents know how to lovingly take care of their children and give them what they need, HOW MUCH MORE WILL THE PERFECT HEAVENLY FATHER GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT’S FULLNESS when His children ask Him.” (Luke 11:13 TPT)

When we position ourselves to constantly and consistently hunger and thirst for more of His presence, He fills us with the Holy Spirit’s fullness.  Him filling and flooding us with Himself is when He opens our eyes to taste and experience, to see and perceive how He lovingly takes care of us.  When we are fully persuaded who we are before His loving eyes that we are His treasured possession, it is but effortless for us to discover what it means to be such.  Knowing our identity as someone special, the apple of His eye, postures us to see how He expresses Himself to confirm and validate how He sees us.

What we meditate on, what we rehearse in our minds is what will become the reality in our lives.  Our lives go according to our most dominant thoughts.   It is in changing the way we think about ourselves being His treasured possession is what brings transformation that can be seen with our eyes.  This is when the good, acceptable and perfect will of God is unveiled and revealed.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

There has been many instances where He showed Himself strong to me during the course of the day unconsciously.  It was all by His grace.  It was not that every step of the way I would stop and ask Him consciously for direction.   It was just that I found myself being at the right place at the right time doing the right thing with the right heart.  How awesome can that be?

I was driving to a particular place where I needed to check some vital items for our office.  On the road, unconsciously I got into the lane where I was not expected to be.  To turn back was impossible, but later on I realized that the next turn was the most convenient way to take me there.  Praise the Lord.  I continued to drive until I saw a parking place where I just thought was where I was supposed to park and so I did.

It is fun to recall that I did not even bother to check where the exact location of the store I was heading to until I was parked.  But the Lord knew and He already went before me and guided me. More so, I did not even consider any other store to go to to see where I could find what I was looking for.  Lo and behold, when I went in, I found the exact things that I needed.

Another instance was when I was looking for a supplier of block rectangular crystals.  We used to order them from abroad but because of time constraints, I needed to find one locally.  For the past years,  I have been browsing but no one seem to give us according to our specifications.  But, the other night, as I browsed, the first thing that came up caters to what we need.   Praise the Lord.

These are just to name and share a few, but more are being revealed as to this moment.  Every time I think, rehearse in my mind and meditate on these little yet extremely powerful divine encounters, I hear a whisper in my heart, “this is what it means to be My treasured possession!  When you are fully convinced that you are Mine, I take care of you even when you are not consciously aware of My presence, even in times when you least expect it.  Remember, I AM with you ALWAYS and you are Mine.”

I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”  So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6 AMP)

Truly God’s gifts and callings are irrevocable (Romans 11:29).  They can never be revoked nor reversed.  What He pre-ordained and pre-destined us to be before the foundation of time, He is ever faithful to fulfill them.  I obviously thought that callings are just what we are called to do.  But His callings are also about who He called us to be, His treasured possessions.  Once He declared these words over us and we openly received and believed,  we have been invited to experience what was spoken.  What the Holy Spirit reveals to us postures us to SEE and what we see the Lord is ready to perform it.

“Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” (Jeremiah 1:12)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us, choosing us to be Your precious, special, treasured possessions.  Thank You, Jesus, for paying the utmost price, nothing less than Your own life, that we may be welcomed back into Abba’s loving embrace, enjoying this wonderful journey that You have pre-ordained for us to explore and experience as Your beloved sons and daughters.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for always ordaining our steps that we may be at the perfect place at the perfect time, thinking the right thoughts, doing the right things, speaking the right words that will glorify You at all times.  Amen!
