One seemingly ordinary day, while I was about to park my 16-year old car in the garage, out of the blue, my car was filled with a scent of a brand new vehicle. With windows closed, I thought it was just an “imaginary” scent, but it wasn’t. It was so tangibly “smellable”.
Hmmmm … what do you do when something extra-ordinary comes along your way? Oh well, I just casually declared, “Bring in the new car, Lord, in Jesus’ Name!”
I got this interesting verse during my devotional time after what had happened to me, but of course since I, too, have many prayer requests in line, it was not in my “present” list to desire for a new car.
“Behold, I have given you the authority to ADVANCE …” (Luke 10:19 Wuest)
The day after, during the Sunday service, our Pastor declared, “Some of you will see mighty supernatural signs and wonders!” But it was mostly focused on healing and deliverance. Once again, a car was not in my wildest thoughts.
When I was reading Elijah List online, a prophetic word was released. “The Lord says your drought is over and the rain is coming to FUND your vision, dream and burdens.”
“Drought causes the soil of the ground to become very difficult, hardened, and almost rock-solid. The rains assist in softening the soil for seed planting. The rain essentially provides nourishment so the plants produce new life. The rain of heaven promises to quench our thirst if we drink of it. The rain of heaven is coming to bring NEW LIFE, purification, divine satisfaction and breakthrough in every dry, barren and desolate place in your life. GET READY TO DANCE IN THE RAIN!”
Oh wow … what a profound and vast prophetic declaration! And the secret to tap into this is to keep meditating on the Word of God until it so saturates our very being and out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouths shall speak. Have we ever thought that the rain that is poured into our hearts is the revelation of His Word and for it to be poured out into manifestation is when we speak it out of our mouths? The rivers of living water is stirring in our hearts ready to be released that as we decree a thing, it shall be established.
I was in awe while reading this because I had another revelation that is congruent to this heavenly rain in Deuteronomy 11:11-12, “The land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.”
A week later, I had a very strong unction to have my car brakes checked and so I did. The technician said that everything was okay. Praise God! I thought I won’t have expenses that day, but when I mentioned that I could hear a knocking sound by the tires, he was kinda alarmed. As he checked, he found out that the tire rods need replacement, the rack ends need to be machine-shopped and the suspension bushing needs to be changed. Hmmmm! With my limited provision at that time, I opted to change the tire rods first and told him that I would be back the following week.
Since we are in a commission-based industry, I sought for an approval if we could have the cheque dated since the schedule for release of the commission cheques is bi-monthly. Thank God for His favor that it was instantly approved.
The very next day someone who knew the condition of my car mentioned of a plan to buy me a new one in advance and that I would only pay an exceedingly favorable percentage of it! Ohhhhh! What a wondrous surprise! Here I am who could barely pay to fix my old car has been offered a “too good and is so true” proposal.
Did I earn it? Nahhh! Did I deserve it? Nahhh! It was purely by the grace of God. His grace is unmerited, unearned and undeserved favor. His grace enables us to do what He has called us to do wherever we are positioned, may it be in our workplace, or at home, or wherever, whenever. His grace causes us to be anointed to be at the right place at the right time, doing the right thing with the right heart. His grace makes beautiful things happen before our very eyes speedily.
Because I had that tangible strong smell of a new car almost a month prior to this day, I did not hesitate to say “YES!” But, a slightly used one would be my preference.
Four days later, I got a text that my “newer” car is ready for pick up and although I was not part of them who chose it let alone looked for it, it turned out to be the BEST car I could ever think of for me. As for my old one, it was them, too, who took charge of selling. PRAISE THE LORD!!!
When the grace of God moves, though I thought it was a SET BACK for me to have spent those expenses, I was unaware that it was a divine SET UP for me to have a “newer” car all along. HALLELUJAH! Just like how a bow and arrow works. After we attach the arrow to the bow’s string ready to aim, we need to draw the string as far back as possible until the bow feels tight, and then release. The arrow is expected to go exceedingly farther than how far we drew it back. With God, it is always from faith to faith, from strength to strength, from glory to glory, regardless of how it may look around us. This is the reason why we are to GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING (not “FOR” everything), REJOICE ALWAYS and COUNT IT ALL JOY! He SURELY knows what is ahead of us and He is always leading us to a place of rich fulfillment.
Be mindful that the arrow does not determine the direction of where it is going, the archer does. But for the arrow to get to the target, it is submitted to the hands of the archer.
He Who holds us in the palm of His hand is directing our every step, but we need to completely yield into the hands of the One Who knows and holds our future.
“The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]. (Psalm 37:23 AMPC)
In hindsight, the primary reason why I was quick to declare for a new car when I smelled its scent was because years ago I heard a testimony of our ministry worship leader. She told me how she smelled the same strong scent and a week later her ex-husband bought her a new car.
The Holy Spirit reveals to us the things that has been freely given. I never hesitated to say “YES” when the proposal was given because I knew it in my heart beyond a shadow of a doubt that what has been revealed is for us to partake and enjoy.
Never take for granted the testimonies that we hear for “the testimony of Jesus is a spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:10). The word “testimony” in Hebrew means “do it again.” When God does something for one person, it reveals His heart on the matter, and He wants to do it again. He is no respecter of persons. When He sees faith, He moves.
Faith only explores what revelation reveals. In Deuteronomy 29:29, it says, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever.” In Proverbs 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.” When the feast of the grace’s table is prepared and unveiled, faith stands and goes to the table, takes, consumes and benefits from it.
Grace freely gives us ALL the necessary things that pertain to life and godliness for our successful Christian walk. When we receive Him Whom ALL THINGS are created by Him and for Him, Whom ALL THINGS consist, we have it all.
I was not praying for a car at this point in time although I had the desire to have one last August 22, 2011 as per my journal. It was written then over a brochure of a new car, “Our trust should be in God Who RICHLY and CEASELESSLY provides us with EVERYTHING for our own ENJOYMENT.” (1 Timothy 6:17).
I may have forgotten all about it but our Heavenly Father remembers what we have prayed for and what we are still praying for. At a designated and appointed time He made it manifest wondrously. Although I was pressing on for my other prayer agendas, yet little did I know that the hidden desire of my heart was what the eyes of our Lord was on. All glory and praise to God our Lord.
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for always having Your ears open to our cries, desires and dreams. We know that You have heard them and have already answered them when we prayed. Thank You, Jesus, that it is all by Your grace that You have made everything available for, all paid for by Your finished work, for everything is made by You and for You. May all our desires be in alignment and in accordance to Your will as You unveil our eyes to see them and enable our ears to hear You speak them to us. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for giving us the divine ability to be full of hope with faith and patience to wait upon You. You know when is the perfect moment to surprisingly surpass our expectations. We give You ALL THE GLORY, HONOR and PRAISE! Amen!
