The Father’s Heart

Many people are asking what is going on around the world with this new virus that is shaking the whole world with fear and trembling.  With many questions asked, more numerous are the opinions as answers.  Where will you turn to?  Which voice will you listen to?  This is the big question.

But in the midst of this unprecedented situation, He is still speaking into each of our hearts.  He loves us too much to let us to be left shaken unattended.  The question is, what is He speaking personally to you?  Is His voice loud enough to keep you still?  Or are the other voices around you pulling you down in fear?

One of the verses that I always ask the Lord everyday is for His spiritual wisdom to be personally revealed to me,that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of my understanding being enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power … ” (Ephesians 1:17-19)

It has become a norm for me to seek Him and ask Him what is His desire for me to know TODAY, what is the hope of His calling for me TODAY, what are the glorious riches of our inheritance that He has made available for me TODAY.

In this day and age, it is of utmost vitality for us to eat our heavenly daily bread and drink from the fountains of living water that make us spiritually strong and courageous.  We need to gear up ourselves so that the enemy will not get the better of us.  We need not to be ignorant of his devices and schemes.  Oh yes he is our adversary that roars loud LIKE a lion seeking someone to devour by his lies, lies and more lies.

There are a million and one avenues that God uses to make Himself known to us.  There are numerous preachings available on youtube.  There are thousands of daily devotionals and Bible-based books available around us. There are our spiritual leaders and fellow believers around us whom we allow ourselves to be spoken to and prayed over.  There is His Word, the Bible, which is the BEST way of knowing Him, His love, His nature and His will for us where He speaks that pierces the deepest part of our hearts.  His Word is spirit that gives life.

There are many ways of Him reaching out to us.  We have our mobile phones which are always at hand.  We have ipads, laptops, desktops, tvs, and the unimaginable scope of the internet that the previous generations never had.  It seems like the Lord has set up all these technologies for Him to make known to us Who He truly is, what Jesus has accomplished and who we are before Him.

Just as you and I are created BY HIM and FOR HIM, so are all these things.

“For by Him were ALL things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: ALL things were created BY HIM, and FOR HIM:  And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.”  (Colossians 1:16-17 KJV)

Today, when I asked the Lord for my daily dose of nourishment, His answer was, “Know Me as your Father.”  Hmmm …. so what’s in our Father’s heart?  How do we access His heart?  At the same time, how do we become His children?

“Yet to ALL who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”  (John 1:12-13)

“Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me.  To know me is to know my Father too.”  (John 14:6 TPT)

The Bible says, Jesus is the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person (Hebrews 1:3).  He is the One Who has God’s imprinted image, the exact representation of the Father.  Thus, Jesus said to Philip, “he who has seen Me has seen the Father, so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?'” (John 14:9)

The woman caught in adultery was one significant and powerful way of showing us what the Father’s heart is like.

Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.  Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

She said, “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”  (John 8:2-11)

“God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”  (John 3:17)

If you are a father, won’t you do the same, too?  There may even be cases when you would deny everything charged against your child because you want to protect him.  If you, imperfect as you are, know how to lovingly take care of your children and give them what’s best, how much more ready is your heavenly Father to give wonderful gifts to those who ask him?” (Matthew 7:11 TPT)

When someone bought me a second hand car in a spur of the moment and I did not have control over the choice of the make let alone the model, I prayed and cried out to the Lord.  I desired a sedan and nothing less than that. For days I was praying, “Lord, let it not be a hatchback.”  Of course there is nothing wrong with hatchbacks, but I just want a sedan. A friend of mine told me, “hey, just take whatever, since it’s a big favor anyway”, yet my heart was not at rest.  Why? Because there was this fear in me if the one who was going to buy it would choose anything else apart from what I want.

Until one day, I simply said, “Lord, you know what I want and I know that YOU are my Father Who loves me and Who delights in giving me the desire of my heart. I know that you will never reject nor neglect my request because I am YOUR beloved child.”  Only then my heart rested after that.  My eyes was no longer on the person who would give me the car but on the Lord Who deeply loves me and dearly cares for me because He is my Father.  Lo and behold, the very next day when I got the text that it was finally here, it was a sedan.  Praise God Who is the Father of glory.

Truly it is the revelation of His great and perfect love for us that casts out all our fears and makes our hearts still.   “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18)

What the Lord has spoken into my heart about what’s going on around the world that caused my heart to be still is this:   For this is how much God loved the world—He gave His one and only, unique Son as a gift.  So now everyone who believes in Him will never perish but experience everlasting life.”  (John 3:16 TPT)

He is NOT the author of this virus. How bizarre one could ever think that the one who authors this is the one people run to for deliverance?  Know that there is an enemy who is having the time of his life inflicting and swallowing people with the spirit of fear, fear of death.  It is but his job to steal, kill and destroy and he is the one blinding the eyes that causes people NOT to see the truth of Who Jesus is and what He has accomplished at the cross.

“Even if our gospel message is veiled, it is only veiled to those who are perishing, for their minds have been blinded by the god of this age, leaving them in unbelief. Their blindness keeps them from seeing the day spring light  of the wonderful news of the glory of Jesus Christ, who is the divine image of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4 TPT)

The New Living Translation of the same verse says, If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.  Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4 NLT)

BUT thanks be to God Who always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus.   Just as the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel took some of the lamb’s blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses were protected (The Passover in Exodus), HOW MUCH MORE NOW that the Blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ shed 2000 years ago ONCE AND FOR ALL?

One thing that somehow made my heart in awe is that we are in this time frame of almost celebrating the Lord’s Passover.  There must be something of utmost significance why this is happening in such a time as this.

Oh how much He desires for us to know Him and His love for you and me.  How much He desires for us to know the One Whom He has sent, His only beloved and begotten Son. How much He desires to have an intimate relationship with us because He knows that ONLY IN HIM will we find the “all-inclusive salvation” – that includes healing, comfort, restoration, preservation, provision, promotion and eternal life.  But we are to posture our hearts in humility to know that we need a Savior, seek Him and receive Him as One.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”  (2 Chronicles 16:9)

“The Father is Spirit, and He is seeking followers whose worship is sourced in truth and deeply spiritual as well. Regardless of whether you are in Jerusalem or on this mountain, if you do not seek the Father, then you do not worship.” (John 4:24 The Voice)

Why not set aside all our paraphernalia and let us start to build a true relationship with Jesus Christ, communing with Him, talking with Him, fellowshiping with Him in a heart to heart, face to face encounter, for He is our Father’s LOVE PERSONIFIED.

When Jesus suffered, was crucified and died at the cross, God’s judgment of sin was exhausted on His body at the cross.  Jesus never called God, God, but always Father.  But at the cross, when He Who knew NO SIN took upon Himself the sin of the world and became sin that you and I may become the righteousness of God in Him, He called God, God.  He cried out, “My God, My God why have You forsaken Me?  At the cross Jesus was forsaken when He became sin so that you and I will be welcomed into the loving embrace of the Father.  Jesus took all that we deserved so that we can have all that He deserved.  Jesus, the Son of God became the Son of man, so that you and I become sons and daughters of the Most High God.  What a glorious divine exchange.

The beauty of this good news is that when we believe and receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we can come unashamedly to our Father without being rebuked or rejected.  He sees us perfect with the moral grandeur and excellency of Jesus Christ.  We can come boldly into His throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace in time of our need.  His nearness to us and our nearness to Him is our all-time security and great confidence, that nothing and no one can snatch us away from Him.

Remember when the Israelites were in the wilderness, the nearness of the presence of God was tangible.  By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.  Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.”  (Exodus 13:21-22). They were in covenant with God.  How much more now that we have a better covenant with better promises in Christ?  Don’t you think He won’t protect us from this virus?

Our God is the promise-giver and the promise-keeper.  “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should change His mind.  Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19)

Therefore, IN everything we give thanks, because we know that we have our Heavenly Father’s protection upon us.  We count it all joy for we know that we will come out changed, transformed and victorious as we put our trust in Him, fully persuaded and rest assured that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  I love how the Amplified Classic says, “He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] (Hebrews 13:5 AMPC)  What a wonderful promise we have!

KNOW THAT …

When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High,
our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm.
How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us?  (Psalm 91:9-10 TPT)

Covid19 is not judgment from God because the body of Jesus was already judged ONCE AND FOR ALL 2000 years ago and He emerged victorious that even death has lost its sting when He resurrected.  Know that we have an enemy that is taking advantage of the people’s blind eyes, not seeing the truth of the Perfect Sacrifice done by the Perfect Offerer and received by our Perfect God.

Religion has taken us captive, never really allowing a true and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ to flourish. It has bound us to do things outwardly without having our hearts involved in what we do.  But Who God is rich in mercy and abounding in love always HAD a redemptive solution at hand and what the enemy meant for evil, He can always turn it to GOOD!  Therefore we expect a tsunami of His goodness when this turnaround happens.  We expect unprecedented glorious suddenlies and encounters with His presence like never before for this is His utmost desire.

“Believe this: a new day is coming—in fact, it’s already here—when the importance will not be placed on the time and place of worship but on the truthful hearts of worshipers.”  (John 4:21 The Voice)

God desires not just for His children to be protected, but for those  who have been  touched by the virus, He already sent His Word to heal them and deliver them from all destruction. Jesus is the Word made flesh. It was He Whom the Father sent as Healing and Healer Himself. After all, JESUS IS OUR SAVIOR!  HE IS OUR REDEEMER! He came that we may and enjoy life and have it more abundantly. This is what the Father desires for His children.

So, let us radiate the LIGHT OF JESUS! Carry the LOVE of our Father and reflect His DIVINE LOVE as His sons and daughters.  ARISE and SHINE for this is the VICTORY that He already won for us 2000 years ago.

“The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters!”  (Romans 8:19 TPT)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, thank You for your GREAT LOVE for us that You sent Your only Beloved and Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.  Thank You, Jesus, for shedding Your blood at the cross that we may be made righteous before the Father, with our sins and lawless deeds remembered no more.  We lift to You the eyes of our hearts that we may SEE what You have accomplished and by Your grace will influence our beliefs and perceptions that will bring transformation in our lives.  We lift to You all the hearts of men crying out to you at this time that You may answer them by encountering them with the beauty of Your holiness, the beauty of Jesus Christ, Who for the JOY that was set before Him, He ENDURED everything, all the sufferings, the crucifixion and death KNOWING that we will be reconciled back to Your loving arms as our Father.  We speak healing and wholeness to those who are infected by this virus and declare them HEALED and WHOLE BY THE STRIPES OF JESUS CHRIST.  We speak COMFORT to those who have lost their loved ones.  We speak PEACE into everyone’s heart as You pour Your Spirit upon ALL flesh just as You promised.  We ask for Your divine WISDOM and STRENGTH to come upon all the national leaders and all the front liners that they may be strong in You and in the power of Your might.  We speak provision for those who are experiencing lack and we know that You are our mighty Provider.  We command covid19 to bow down to the Name of JESUS, the Name that is above ALL names.  We render covid19 powerless and curse it to its roots in the Name of Jesus and washed away by the Blood of Jesus!  You did not give us a spirit of fear but of POWER, of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND, thus, we say NO FEAR HERE!  You called us to be victorious, overcomers and more than conquerors and this is who we are.  Be it done unto us according to Your Word!

Let there be PEACE and UNITY that will flow from Your heart of LOVE.  We acknowledge, believe and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  We acknowledge You as our Heavenly Father Who greatly loves us expressing Yourself by the power and presence of Your Holy Spirit.

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.                  (Matthew 6:9-13)
