Love – The Antidote To Fear

“There is NO FEAR IN LOVE; but PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because HE FIRST LOVED US.”  1 John 4:18-19 NKJV

The antidote to fear is LOVE!

Have you ever asked yourself, “why am I fearful?”  The world is full of wars, famines, hatred, calamities, etc.  Literally bad news is everywhere.  “How do I conquer such fear gripping my very being in the midst of this chaotic world?”

It is fear that causes us to shrink back and make us see how small we are like a little dried up prune.  Like the Israelites perceiving themselves as grasshoppers IN THEIR OWN EYES, and SO THEY WERE in the sight of the giants.

“There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers IN OUR OWN SIGHT, and SO WE WERE IN THEIR SIGHT.”  Numbers 13:33 NKJV

How we see ourselves matters!  How we see ourselves gives others the right and position to see us the way we see ourselves.  That’s powerful.  So why not get up and incline our ears to how our Daddy God sees us?  How much He loves us?  How much He cares for us?  How much He delights in us?  It is in the revelation of His perfect love that fills us with joy, courage, strength, life and creativity.  Why not be like Caleb ..”Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are WELL ABLE TO OVERCOME IT!”  (Numbers 13:30 NKJV)   I believe he was able to say this courageously because He trusted the BIGNESS of God compared to the giants in the land.  He knew his position as God’s beloved and saw himself strong in the power of God’s might.

God dealt with fear by demonstrating His perfect love to us when He gave us His only Begotten Son, Jesus, to die at the cross.  He knew that when Jesus conquered the grave and death has lost its sting, He stripped fear off it’s place in us UNLESS we allow it to affect us.  Always remember that you and I are the temple of the Holy Spirit whom He profusely pours in His love.  KNOW THIS TRUTH and BELIEVE in it.  It is He Who will teach us HOW TO BE PERFECTLY LOVED BY HIM.  He will make us experience His perfect love until we are loved so well, so perfectly, so awesomely, so amazingly, so brilliantly that fear won’t even be able to take a peek because we’re so full and overflowing with God’s love.

“For God SO LOVED the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.   For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED.”  John 3:16-17 NKJV

Get REAL in the PERFECT LOVE of our Perfect Heavenly Father to dislodge FEAR, to be SAVED from FEAR!

Fear comes in when we see things from our own perspective and doing things in our own strength but FAITH is when we see GOD bigger than any challenge we face and counting on the truth that He is ABLE and WILLING to overcome it for us.  And FAITH works through LOVE.  Be immersed in His love and fear gets dissolved in it.

Take time and allow the perfect love of God to lavish on you.  Position yourself to be under the spout of His glory love and drink from Him like never before.  Get away with Him in a quiet place and saturate yourself in His love by soaking in His presence and meditating on His Word revealed to you by the Holy Spirit.  There is nothing like it!  There is nothing like having a love relationship with our Daddy God that SURELY casts out all our fears away.

Our identity of being His Beloved is our security, ONLY made possible because Jesus came and powerfully demonstrated our Father’s great love for you and me.

Thank You, Jesus.
