Most often than not, we get paralyzed in fear with what we see and hear about certain situations we are facing.  That is just a normal reaction for a person.   But GOD took us to a higher calling IN CHRIST and that is to be peculiar, to be His special, precious, prized possession, the apple of His eye, and this powerful identity of ours is meant to make a difference with the way we see things and respond to them.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may HAVE LIVE, and that they may have it MORE ABUNDANTLY!  John 10:10 NKJV

When we know that JESUS CHRIST came that we may HAVE LIFE and HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY, then He positioned us to a different ballgame.  Jesus already WON the battle for us but unless our minds and hearts get tuned in to what He accomplished 2000 years ago, “He destroyed the works of the devil” (1John 3:8), we open ourselves to a battle facing a defeated, toothless, and powerless foe.  It is the battlefield of our minds.

Have you even seen in movies when a snake’s head had been cut off and yet the body is still moving?  A headless and toothless snake can no longer hurt you but it still moves to inflict fear on you.  It’s parallel to what the devil is still trying to do to us now.  He tries its tricks of deception and cause us to believe his lies by letting us see and hear bad news.  The question is HOW DO WE COMBAT THE LIES OF THE ENEMY?  The most powerful way I believe is TO KNOW THE TRUTH and THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH SETS US FREE!  YES, FREE FROM FEAR!

“Glory to God in the highest.  And ON EARTH PEACE, GOODWILL toward men.”  Luke 2:14

PEACE and GOOD WILL toward men ON EARTH?  Yes, this is the GOOD NEWS!  “DO NOT BE AFRAID, I bring you GOOD NEWS that will cause GREAT JOY for ALL the people.”  (Luke 2:10 NIV)  A Savior has been born to you and me and A SAVIOR SAVES!  A Savior delivers, preserves, heals, provides, sustains and makes us complete and whole.  He said, IN ME, you may have PEACE (John 16:33 NKJV).

To conquer bad news is to know the GOOD NEWS!  To be able to recognize a fake monetary bill, those who handle bills are trained to know, see and feel the real ones.  The more you and I get to know deeper the TRUTH in God’s word, the quicker we recognize the counterfeit.   I love the verse that says …”But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also QUICKEN your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.”  Romans 8:11 (KJV)  The Holy Spirit in us will guide us into ALL TRUTH and He quickens us to catch the red flags coming along our way.

 We are to take our thoughts captive into the obedience of CHRIST when we catch our thoughts wondering and wandering.  We catch those little foxes that ruin the fruit of our renewed minds in Christ.  We take our eyes and ears off from physical realities, look up, soar high and listen to the greater truth and reality of God’s word that changes our perspective and cause our hope to arise and believe that indeed WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE and NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE ON THE GOD WHO MAKES THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE.

We have a GOOD, GOOD FATHER Who is always in a GOOD MOOD.  His plans and purposes in our lives are GOOD because there is nothing in Him that goes contrary to HIS GOODNESS!   Whatever comes our way, He has already gone before us to straighten our paths and made them smoothed ALL BECAUSE of HIS GREAT LOVE FOR US.  All we need to do is BELIEVE IN HIS GOODNESS that is the utmost expression of WHO HE IS.
