One can never go deeper in the knowledge of Jesus Christ apart from the Word of God. After all, He is the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us.
“And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).” John 1:14 AMP
The revealed truth of His Word postures us to explore Who He is. We get to exercise through practical and personal experience what the Holy Spirit unveils before our eyes. When He breathes the breath of life into a specific verse, it will never leave us passive but will surely make us actively pursuing to see it manifest.
It is not that we go after it by pursuing it in our own way, but His ways are higher. We pursue by trusting and RESTING in His goodness and faithfulness knowing that His timing is different from ours. His time clock moves in the rhythm of His love. It is when the answers to our prayers will most benefit us and thrills us beyond measure when He accomplishes what He has promised all because HE DEEPLY LOVES US.
This verse has been resonating in my heart lately …
“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be PURE and BLAMELESS for the day of Christ …” Philippians 1:9-10 NIV
What does it mean to be PURE? I was inquiring and longing to know. It may just be a simple revelation but powerful enough to transform us. We know that we have been cleansed by the Blood of Jesus Christ at the cross but there is something about this word “pure” that kept stirring my heart.
Truly when we ask, He answers . I came across this verse that pierced into my heart bringing light into my inquiry. Glory to God.
“How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts].With all my heart I have sought You, [inquiring of You and longing for You];
Do not let me wander from Your commandments [neither through ignorance nor by willful disobedience].Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.”Blessed and reverently praised are You, O Lord;
Teach me Your statutes.” Psalm 119:9-12 AMP
Keep seeking! Keep inquiring! Keep longing! Press in for more revelations that will make us stand firm and stay steadfast. His Word is a lamp to guide our feet and a light for our path (Psalm 119:105 NLT). It will cause us not to wander away from the plumbline through ignorance and willful disobedience. Instead, while we keep storing and treasuring His Word, it will take us to an adventure of personally experiencing His presence in our lives.
His precepts are boundaries that protect us from the lies and deception of the enemy. His Word is TRUTH! It is an open feast to those who desire to partake of it. No wonder God said that man shall not live by bread alone but on every word that comes out from His mouth (Matthew 4:4).
Never reduce the power of His Word. Let us set His Word as the benchmark, the ultimate point of reference, our uttermost manual in life which is meant for our lives to conform to it. His Word has enough power to manifest itself when meditated and spoken in faith.
Imagine a glass of coke that is put under a faucet of water. As the water continuously pours and pours into that glass, eventually the dark color of the coke begins to lighten until it’s fully displaced and replaced with the clear crystal water. The process was effortless. That glass just needed to be under a faucet continually, without interruption, be filled and flooded with water.
To be pure is to be constantly and consistently washed by the water of His Word revealed to us by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit indwelling in us until we are transformed according to His image and likeness.
