Pure And Blameless

IMG_0062

“How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts].”   Psalm 119:9 AMP

If a man can stay pure by constantly and consistently being washed by the water of God’s word and more so by always and continually drinking of the same, then why is the word blameless written after it?

“And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more [displaying itself in greater depth] in real knowledge and in practical insight, 10 so that you may learn to recognize and treasure what is excellent [identifying the best, and distinguishing moral differences], and that you may be PURE and BLAMELESS until the day of Christ [actually living lives that lead others away from sin]; …” Philippians 1:9-10 AMP

I am a person who always asks, seeks revelations, longs for enlightenment and inquires of the Lord when it comes to His Word.  I love discovering the greatest treasures that are hidden in His Word as the Holy Spirit unveils them before the eyes of my heart.  The journey of believing in what He said keeps me at a never-ending quest in pursuit to know Him deeper everyday.  We know that the knowledge of Him is inexhaustible but when He makes even one word sparkle as He breathes in it changes your whole perspective.  Truly His Word is ALIVE and POWERFUL.

BLAMELESS is the word for today.  It means innocent, guiltless, faultless, pure, irreproachable … hmmm up the the extent of being perfect.

Oh yes, no one is perfect!  But the ONE Who is perfect lives inside of you and me and is perfecting that which concerns us.  In the eyes of God, He sees us perfect by the Blood of Jesus Christ.  Yes, we are.  Our righteousness is not based on our works lest anyone should boast but our righteousness is solely based on the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is a gift from God.  He sees us perfect, pure and blameless but the person next to you and me doesn’t.  But then, inside our innermost being and personality is Jesus Who is the HOPE of glory.  IN HIM we can have a confident expectation of good that when we are conformed and transformed to Who He is by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, from glory to glory, as we increase our knowledge of Him, we will begin to see every person as a child of God created according to His image and likeness, then it dissolves and washes away our critical and judgmental hearts.

Yes, the victory has been won at the cross by Christ Jesus but the enemy still continues to bombard our thoughts with fear, guilt, shame and condemnation.  He desires to gum us to death.  Yes .. gum us .. because he is a toothless and powerless foe.  He is only empowered when we allow him to overpower us.  But the same power Who raised Jesus from the dead lives inside of us and GREATER is He Who is in us than he who is in this world.

The battleground is in our minds.  Our thought life creates a groove where we are going. Our lives follow according to our most dominant thoughts thus this is where the enemy is unceasingly trying to punch us.

If purity is attained by continually and thoughtfully regarding His ways which is the path of life, do you know that when we are pure in our ways, the enemy cannot blame us for doing a wrong thing?   Try to think of something wrong that you have done in your life and check what follows next.  It is guilt and condemnation.  But if you haven’t really done wrong, then your mind and heart are peaceful.

I was driving once.  I reached an intersection with traffic lights where I was about to turn right.  But a few meters before such, I saw a sign that says “NO RIGHT TURN ON RED SIGNAL.”   When the light was green, cars were turning right but when it turned red, three cars before me were still turning right.  I STOPPED but the cars behind kept honking.  Being pressured by it, I turned right on RED signal.

I knew I did the wrong thing yet wasn’t apprehended by a traffic enforcer, thank God, but my thoughts went haywire.  The BLAMING, the guilt-tripping, the condemning voice of the enemy started to hunt me down.  Oh yes, for a number of hours, fear gripped me and all the “what if’s” and the “I shouldn’t have’s” came rushing.

God is so good that He came to my rescue.  Even in the littlest thing in our lives, He deeply cares.  After all He even knows the number of hairs in our heads, that’s how extensively caring He is, how much more for this simple thing.   He reminded me of His Word that brought so much peace in my heart.

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”  Hebrews 8:12 NKJV

HE quickened my very being, washed me clean and made me pure once again with His Word.  Immediately after, another verse came to reinforce and establish it in my heart that caused my JOY to rise up for me to be strong in Him again.

“IN RIGHTEOUSNESS you shall BE ESTABLISHED; you shall be FAR FROM OPPRESSION, for you shall NOT FEAR; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.”  Isaiah 54:14 ESV

By then I was back on track.  Righteousness, peace and joy were re-established in my heart in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

Remember that the title of the enemy is the ACCUSER of the brethren.  He will accuse you, blame you, condemn you, oppress you, guilt-trip you, terrorize you and inflict you with fear.  Actually he is just reminding you of his identity of being a loser, pity partying with you.  Well, that’s his job!  But our part is to do this one thing …

“One thing I have asked of the Lord, and that I will seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life,
To gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the Lord
And to meditate in His temple.”  Psalm 27:4 AMP

The secret to be blameless is to meditate and do according to His spoken word that fills our very hearts, all by His grace that is all prevailing, all covering, all empowering by God Himself.

We are more than conquerors!  We are victorious in every way!  We OVERCOME by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.  We are ALL THESE all because of HIS GREAT LOVE for us.

Prayer:

Father, teach me how to meditate on Your precepts and thoughtfully regard Your ways which is the path of life established by Your precepts.  Holy Spirit, unveil my eyes to see the hidden treasures in this truth of being pure and blameless.  This I ask in the most powerful name of Jesus.  Amen!
