When our identity is founded on the spoken word of God, we find ourselves confident and secure, for the word of God remains and stands forever. It is eternal. When we set our face like flint believing on every word that Holy Spirit revealed to us, who can take it away from us?
But in this world that we live in, there is always a fight that we may not be consciously aware of. It is a fight on what to believe! It is a fight to stand on what we chose to believe. It is a fight to stay steadfast until we see the manifestation of what we believe. There will always be opposition against what we believe in and one thing that will keep us at rest in the midst of the fight is when we know that what we are fighting for is founded and grounded on the word of God.
I was careless one day with my time management that caused my body to be tired and weary until it led me to have a flu. At one point I thought it was an attack from the enemy but I soon realized how I contributed to it by my negligence and discipline to rest well. Sometimes we need to be quick to discern and learn from our own experiences and take responsibility. Come to think of it, playing a “blame game” doesn’t really take us anywhere. If we always blame the enemy for every wrong thing that happens to us, then we revere him greater than the One Who lives inside of us.
The best part of recognizing what’s happening to us is that we take it on from there. Yes, we repent and change direction from a downward spiral of feeling sick and into an upward scale. We ask the Lord for guidance and direction and when the answer comes, we press in until we see the fruition of the word spoken. Let there me no condemnation but let there be a powerful revelation to get up and arise.
We always make it a habit of going back to the manual of life that the Lord has given us, The Bible. This is where we will find answers to every need that we have. How timely it is that on that particular day I had this index card with this scripture written in it was right in my car dashboard.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV)
While I was reading it, I came to see two words that seemed highlighted in this verse. “for instruction IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.” The word righteousness may have different facets that come with it. It can be our identity of having right standing with God which is a safe, secure and guarantee that HE welcomes us into His presence any time and every time. But what was emphasized for me in my situation is that whatever is wrong in my body HE will make it right. It is HIS WILL for me to be healed and whole because His word says … “Let Your WILL be done ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN”. We know that there is NO sickness in heaven, therefore it is then HIS will for the realm of heaven to come down and manifest in the earth that brings forth healing and wholeness.
How then do we receive His will to be made real in our bodies?
“SURELY He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and WITH THE STRIPES [THAT WOUNDED] HIM WE ARE HEALED AND MADE WHOLE.” (Isaiah 53:4-5 AMPC)
Just like if someone gave you a car that is fully paid, all you need to do is receive and thank the one who gave it to you. You won’t go through all the hassles anymore of paying it yourself for it has been paid for.
I believe what has been spoken in His Word can be perceived in the same way. ALL our sickness and diseases has been dealt with 2000 years ago when JESUS was wounded and bruised beyond recognition, paid for them that we may RECEIVE healing and wholeness in our bodies. The benefit of what has been paid for can only be partaken and enjoyed when it is received by faith. What the grace of God has made available, it is our faith that receives and activates it in our lives.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness.” John 3:11 NKJV
When They, the Godhead, speak that means they already know the outcome of what has been spoken. It says, when They testify that means they have already SEEN our healing and wholeness way before you and I feel it in our bodies. With this revelation in mind, we have a choice whether to receive Their witness (what They have known and seen) or not.
As I was meditating and declaring these words, I knew something in my body was changing though not yet manifesting. I was thanking and praising God. Jesus said, His words are spirit and they are life (John 6:63). Then, HE reminded me that “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)”
Indeed His Word brings LIFE! His Word IS LIFE that makes our lives come alive! “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV)”
A couple of days later, I was up and about! Praise the Lord! And the finale of this really swept me off my feet. Do you want to know how the love of God is perfected in us? It is when we keep His word.
“But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him.” 1 John 2:5-6
Prayer: Father, we thank You for Your Word that keeps us like a well-watered garden, satisfying our souls in drought, strengthening our bones as You guide us continually like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. Thank You, Jesus, for being the Word Who became flesh, dwelt among us and demonstrated what it means to walk filled with the Holy Spirit without measure. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for always opening our eyes to see fresh and new revelations of the word as we live our lives thirsty and hungry for more of YOU. Amen!
