Be Fed and Be Led, To Feed and Lead!

Jesus is the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).  Yes, He is the unblemished Lamb, the perfect offering for the atonement for our sin once and for all.  Because of Him, we have been justified and made righteous before God that we may come boldly to His throne to obtain mercy and find grace in time of need.

Lambs are basically gentle, weak, easily cheated or deceived, timid, defenseless, easily influenced or led, dependent and needy.

When we look at the list of what a lamb looks like, it is very much contrary to who Jesus is.  But one thing I saw beyond is that Jesus Who is the Lamb of God, Who is the Son of Man, was filled with Holy Spirit without measure.  He wasn’t weak when He walked on earth but His strength came from obeying the will of the Father and His food and nourishment came from doing the will of God, Who sent Him, and from finishing His work (John 4:34).   The bible also says, “He can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” (John 5:19)  He was so yielded to the Father even to the point of death.  In the Garden of Gethsemane He prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” (Matthew 26:39)

He just did not do this once but twice.  “Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it.  Your will be done.” (Matthew 26:42)

He displayed and exhibited what it is to be a lamb or a sheep that hears the voice of a shepherd who is loyal and wholeheartedly dedicated for the growth, safety and welfare of his flock.  It is a place of intimate relationship that the lamb is totally abandoned into the caring hands of the shepherd.

Many people in this world still don’t believe on the finished work of Jesus Christ, Who is the Lamb of God.  Many people still are unaware or shall I say uninformed that He died to set us free from being trapped, deceived, cheated, and taken advantage of by the wiles, schemes and fiery darts of the enemy.   Hmmmm … I believe the Lord is inviting us to take part of what He is doing.   You and I are the church whom He has chosen to display His manifold wisdom with many shades, tints, hues, and colorful expressions.  He is displaying many-sided, multicolored, and much variegated wisdom TO His people and THROUGH His people.  He desires to be known TO His people THROUGH His people.

While we sit at His feet to feed from Him during our intimate times with Him, this is where He reveals to us the secrets that we are to carry to those whom He calls us to touch, bringing hope to the hopeless and revealing our Father to the fatherless.  This is now the new wineskin.  It is a shift in our focus from being just receivers but also on to being givers.  But before we can give, it is a necessity for us to receive.  We cannot give what we do not have and He entrusted the gospel of peace to us to make it known to those around us.  We need to Be Fed and Be Led, To Feed and Lead!

This is one of the messages that He has put in my heart today.  “The very moment we believe and know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, we have been set up for eternal life (John 17:3).  It is a life that is in abundance, to the full till it overflows.  It is a life of righteousness, peace and joy.  It is a life that is not perfect but we can put our confident hope in His promise that it is He Who will perfect that which concerns us.  It is a life of being called, qualified and privileged to be holy, set apart solely for His use, by the power of His Blood, making us temples of the Holy Spirit.  Being His home means He is the Master.  He is the Master Who doesn’t boss us around in dictatorship.   Instead He is the Master Who honors and respects our free will but woos us into a loving relationship with Him.  He is the Lover of our souls Who in His goodness, kindness, mercy and grace enables us to obey and be led by His Spirit Who dwells inside of us.”

Hmmm … find out and write down what message He has put inside your heart today.  You may need it somewhere along the way.  You’ll never know who you will be meeting today.  Everyday we always have an opportunity for a person to touch, a city to reach, a nation to speak life to and the world to change.

You and I are sons and daughters of the Most High God and as sons and daughters, we are led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14).  Being led doesn’t mean we know nothing about anything but simply follow.  No!  The knowledge of Who Jesus is and the wisdom that comes with Him is the principal thing.  Being led doesn’t mean that we are weak, but because we are IN HIM, as He leads and we follow, we are strong in Him and in the power of His might.  Apart from Him, we are nothing.  But in Him, we are complete, lacking nothing.

Being led for me is an invisible perimeter of protection.  It is measuring the extent and characteristics of a person’s field of vision that is within the boundaries of His love and His word of power. Being led means we very well know Who is leading us that without hesitation and further adieu, we abandon ourselves into His loving embrace.  Being led means we very well trust and have confidence on the One Who is leading us that we can undoubtedly say YES every time He calls and directs us.

There is no leader without a follower.  Today, when we hear His voice, we harden not our hearts for He leads in love and we obey in love.  Obedience is one of the greatest expressions of our love for Him. “Loving God means keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.” (1John 5:3 NLT)

JESUS loves us with an everlasting love, guiding us with His loving eye, holding us with His righteous right hand and guarding us from our rear at all times.  He is the wall of fire around us and the glory within us.  He leads us with His love and is eternally committed to our own good WITHOUT FAIL. He goes before us with His love that NEVER RUNS OUT, paving the way where He instructs us to go.  He directs us with the kind of love that NEVER GIVES UP.  And the best part of His leading is that HE KNOWS THE END FROM THE BEGINNING.  How can we lose?  When we believe this truth, how can one not follow?

“The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord,
And He delights in his way [and blesses his path].”  Psalm 37:23 AMP

Haven’t you noticed that Jesus is not only the Lamb of God Who fully yielded to the Father?  He is also our Good Shepherd Who leads.  He feeds, guides and shields us.  Shepherds know where to look and take His sheep to the lush green pastures where they can lie down and rest.  He leads His sheep beside the still and quiet waters, refreshes, restores and re-calibrates the mind, will and emotions of His people according to the good counsel of His word.  He leads us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

He promised that even when we walk through the darkest valley where not even a spark of light is in our midst we will not be afraid for He is with us.  He is the Light inside of us.  His rod for protection and His staff for guidance, they comfort and console us.  He serves us a six-course dinner right in front of our enemies making sure that an abundant life is that He desires for us, a nothing-missing, nothing-lacking, nothing broken life is offered to anyone who believes.  He revives and reinvigorates our drooping heads, lifting our chins up to have confidence of who we are in Him, anointing us with oil, the oil of gladness and joy, in the power and presence of Holy Spirit.  He makes sure that our cups brim and overflow with blessings.

SURELY or ONLY  goodness, mercy, and unfailing love (and NOTHING ELSE) shall follow me all the days of our life, and through the length of our days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be our dwelling place.” (Psalm 23:6 AMP)

Prayer:  Father, thank You for giving us Jesus Who is Your Lamb that takes away the sin of the world.  Thank You for Your pursuing love that when were far off the track, You even left the 99 to go after us who were lost to find us.  Thank You that when You found us You  DID NOT condemn nor strike us.  Instead you laid us on Your shoulders rejoicing, celebrating and welcoming us home again into Your loving embrace.  Thank You, Jesus, for being the Good Shepherd Who laid down Your life for Your sheep.  It is indeed the will of the Father Who is in heaven that no one should perish.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for always unveiling our eyes to see the truth of how precious we are in the sight of our Father.  Amen!
