Yes, I watched the “Avengers: Infinity War” and somehow learned a few things from it. I love it when the Holy Spirit opens my eyes to see the wonder of Him in everything. This has always been my prayer, “that I may never lose to see YOUR wonder”. We may have different views about the movie but I’d love to share some of mine.
FIRST: When the line was spoken something to this effect, “who’s your master? Jesus?”, and the movie crowd laughed, I was kinda taken aback. My heart was disturbed to hear the Lord’s Name that I honor and revere used so casually. But God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in love just reassured me that He cannot be intimidated by anything, not even those who crucified Him. His love is furious, unstoppable, unmovable, unconditional, patient and lo — o — o — ong suffering because all His wrath has already been exhausted in the body of Jesus at the cross. All that is left for Him to lavish us is His love that we are to receive. His part was finished and our partnership and relationship begins when we believe and receive what He has accomplished.
I was then reminded with His words, “Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:24) My compassion for those who laughed in the movie crowd was birthed and I pray that they will have a glorious encounter with His presence as I declare, giving voice to His words that are spirit and life.
SECOND: Thanos kills his adoptive daughter Gamora by sacrificing her soul in exchange for a Soul Stone. It was his love towards Gamora whom he readily sacrificed that qualified him to gain more power. It was all about himself.
With our ALMIGHTY FATHER, He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so you and I can come boldly before Him, be with Him and be alive in Him. Through Jesus Christ, we are destined to REIGN IN LIFE, empowered and graced to have a good life. All authority was given to Jesus and those who are IN HIM will explore and experience such authority to protect and empower as He said, “all that I have is yours.”. It’s all about the kingdom of God family.
THIRD: As the movie ended, I saw Thanos’ face, though full of power, sad and sorrowful. Then I remembered the verse that says, “For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures], and forfeit his soul? (Mark 8:36 AMP)
The MSG paraphrase says, “What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? What could you ever trade your soul for?
Learning is always at hand, anytime and anywhere. Our lives are full of life because our God speaks. He speaks through anything and everything. All we need to do is tap into the frequency of His thoughts and ways for us to hear Him. There is nothing like hearing His still small voice in the core of our hearts that shoots adrenaline into our souls.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You, for opening our eyes and ears to see You in every way. Thank You, for revealing more of Who You are that we may acknowledge and recognize you in our everyday lives without compartmentalization. Holy Spirit, teach us to be sensitive to Your voice that as You speak we listen and learn. This we ask in the most precious and mighty name of Jesus.
When the Spirit works in us, we see things that left in the natural state, we would not ordinarily see.
