When Jesus cried out at the cross, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?”, He only had ONE reason in mind, that you and I can cry out today, “My Father, My Father, why have You soooo blessed me?”
For the JOY that was set before Jesus, He endured the cross. His love did it all. His love paid it all. He so desired you and I to walk with Him, talk to Him, commune with Him 24/7 without interruption. He very well knew that the only way for us to be able to come boldly before His throne is for Him to take away our guilt, shame and condemnation BY THE POWER OF HIS SHED BLOOD.
“As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the GOSPEL OF PEACE,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15 NKJV
I love what the “gospel of peace” means … that there is no more war between us and God. The wrath of God was exhausted in the body of Jesus Christ at the cross that the only thing left in Him for us is HIS LOVE, MERCY and GRACE.
In the New Living Translation, it says: “That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring GOOD NEWS!”
Good News = Gospel of Peace = We can now be united with God through Christ
Salvation has to be PERFECT, SOLID and IRREVERSIBLE that can only be made possible by justification done HIMSELF. No one else can but JESUS’ unblemished sacrifice, fully accepted by God for the remission of our unrighteousness.
Jesus took our kind of limited lives and gave us the zoe kind of life, SHALOM, with wholeness of being, soundness of mind, divine health, prosperity in emotional, mental and financial aspects of our lives. This is why He came.
“I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 Amp
It is a life in abundance, to the full, till it overflows. It is a “heaven on earth” life. It is a life of freedom brought about by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. It is a greatly blessed life. It is a GOOD LIFE not according to what we deserve but according to what Jesus deserves. It is a divine exchanged life and indeed an unmerited, highly favored life.
In Him, we have ALL that He has. “As He is, so are we in this world.” (1John 4:17 NKJV)
This is GOOD NEWS! This is the NEW covenant based on BETTER promises.
“But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is FAR SUPERIOR to the old priesthood, for He is the one Who mediates for us A FAR BETTER COVENANT with God, based on BETTER PROMISES.” Hebrews 8:6 NLT
