How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7 NKJV)
We can never give what we do not have. Unless our feet have been washed by Jesus Christ Who came not to be served but to serve, we don’t have a part with Him (John 13:8).
If we stop and take notice of what’s going around in front of us, surely we’ll notice how up and about everyone is. We somehow lose touch of the thought that we are people with a heart of flesh and not machines nor robots. We get into a momentum of rush … rush … rush … forgetting that we are relational beings. We see couples dining with mobile phones in their hands talking to those who aren’t around leaving behind who are just right beside them.
I was watching how technology has gone past what we could think or imagine that left a mark in me that seems like man has almost reached the top of the tower of Babel where nothing can stop it’s unimaginable intelligence jeopardizing the creation’s dependence on the Creator. We have entered a season and age where distractions are everywhere and if we haven’t made a foundational and concrete relationship with the Lord our God, we are prone to get sidetracked and hijacked by the cares of this world.
But God Who is rich in mercy and abounding in love is a covenant keeping God. A covenant that cannot be broken for He is faithful and true to His promises that are yes and amen. In spite of our weaknesses and carelessness, He never withdraws His love for you and me. What He said, it still holds today and forever. When He said that He loves us with His everlasting love, who can stop nor make void what He has spoken? He never violates His Word for He is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind (Numbers 23:19). He refuses to have a relationship with man without a covenant for it is in the covenant that we are rest assured that what He said, He will do and what He promised He will carry them through.
When we carry this amazing and everlasting love in our hearts that has been poured and is still continuously pouring by the presence and power of Holy Spirit, we see things in a different perspective. Instead of being enslaved to technology for various reasons, why not make technology work for us? Surely everything created by men always has a purpose but unless it’s purpose is aligned to that of God’s, it will be to the detriment of mankind. Why not use it to touch other people’s lives that will keep their hearts warmed by the love of God?
Life is more than just possessing material possessions. Yes, these things are absolutely useful as long as they won’t have us. But more importantly, life is all about you and me. When we open God’s heart, guess what we’ll find? Yes, you and I. He is in relentless pursuit of His own. There is nothing that we can bring to heaven and eternity with us but the PEOPLE around us who still haven’t found the ONE TRUE GOD, THE ONLY ONE and Jesus Christ His Son Whom He sent. They are those whom God positioned before us to get touched by His presence radiated in love through us and them becoming aware of who He created them to be, the object of His passion and affection.
Eternal life is only found in knowing the ONLY TRUE and REAL GOD, and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent (John 17:3). Jesus came to reveal the Father. He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through HIM (John 14:6). Yes, this is eternal life. He who has the Son has LIFE! (1John 5:12)
When we carry His lordship in our lives, it is but inevitable for it not to be noticed and acknowledged. No one can contain the fragrance of His love. No one can contain the unshakable joy that we have. No one can ignore the PEACE that surpasses all understanding that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. These are seeable and perceivable. And when we bring the good news to the one in front of us, it is all because He already has become a part of us. We have made ourselves His home becoming one with and in Him where no one and nothing can separate us from HIM and His love any longer.
When Jesus washed the feet of the disciples, He said, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” (John 13:8) Believing and receiving Jesus in our hearts allows us to partake of the benefit of being washed by His Precious Blood making our slate clean forever and making our hearts the home of Holy Spirit. This is when we get honored and privileged to experientially know Him that will catapult us to make Him known. This is when our knowledge of Him becomes a platform for us to preach the good news to all mankind creating an atmosphere for His glorious goodness to be tasted and seen. This is when our feet gets washed, making them beautiful as we walk the walk that He has called us to walk.
Our life is like vapor compared to eternity and our God Who lavishes us with His love keeps issuing an invitation for us to KNOW, perceive, recognize, get acquainted with, and have experiential knowledge of HIM. He keeps knocking at the door of our hearts all because He desires to let us know that we are the object of His affection and woos us to enter into the deep and intimate longing of His heart and that is for us to be ONE with Him.
