Fill your mind with thankful thoughts that as you go through the day, you incline yourself to be attentive to the good things around you. Where do good and perfect gifts come from? Oh yes, from our Daddy God Who is all for our good.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 NIV
In the garden of Eden, everything luscious and desirable were available except for ONE thing that was forbidden, the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Guess where the enemy led Eve to be deceived? It was on something that she was forbidden to partake. The enemy will never entice you to the things that you have but surely will lure you to focus on what you don’t have and Eve succumbed to the enemy’s temptation.
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5
Look at how the serpent deceived Eve when he said, “DID GOD REALLY SAY …?” And Eve responded, “BUT GOD DID SAY …!” Then on verse 5, Eve ate the bait when the serpent’s next attack was about her identity … “YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD!”
In the first place, God created us according to His image and likeness in Genesis 1. But when we aren’t too sure of who we are IN HIM and Who HE is to us, then we open ourselves to the lure of the enemy. Eve was already “like” God in creation, but the serpent twisted the truth and coated it with a lie.
Never take for granted Who God created us to be and BE THANKFUL for it. IN CHRIST, we are His sons and daughters who Jesus qualified to be partakers of the glorious inheritance that He paid for by His Blood at the cross. God gave us the Holy Spirit to abide in us forever Who guides us into all truth of who we are and how our Daddy God lavished His love upon us, giving us all authority to subdue the earth, to be fruitful and multiply. He has given us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness. He daily loads us with benefits. Take time to look around and appreciate what you see with your eyes.

BE THANKFUL for our Daddy God Who is eternally good.
BE THANKFUL for JESUS Who came that we may HAVE and ENJOY life.
BE THANKFUL for the Holy Spirit Who leads, instructs, guides, comforts, empowers us to do things that we cannot do on our own.
BE THANKFUL for the people around us … our families, friends, colleagues, fellow believers who stand with us through the test of time.
BE THANKFUL for the beauty of His creation surrounding us.
BE THANKFUL for every blessing coming our way.
BE THANKFUL for EVERYTHING!
