Only a perfect God can see you perfect just as He created you according to His image and likeness. Nobody else does. But what helps us to see ourselves and others beyond our faults and failures is when we see each one as a CHILD OF GOD! Think about this!
Do you know that God doesn’t see you as you are? But He will meet you where you are as you come to Him as you are. He embraces you just the very way you are but He sees you above and beyond what you can think or imagine. His love covers a multitude of sins fully demonstrated by Him giving us the Darling of heaven, Jesus, at the cross to set us free.
Think with me on this. When the Angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor.” ( Judges 6:12 NKJV), notice how Gideon responded? .. “O my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? (v.13). God wasn’t intimidated with his response but went ahead saying .. “Go in this might of yours and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Medianites. Have I not sent you?” (v.14)
Even with God’s mighty words of power that, Gideon still saw himself as he was … “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the WEAKEST in Manasseh, and I am the LEAST in my father’s house. And the Lord said to him, “SURELY I will be with you, and you SHALL DEFEAT the Midianites as ONE man.” (v.16-17)
Yes, we are weak in and of ourselves but when we know that God is with us, that is when we become strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. When our focus shifts from how we see ourselves and into how our God sees us IN HIM and WITH HIM, there will be a change of perspective, an upgrade of our self image that propels and compels us to do His will and purpose for our lives.
God sent Jesus to perfect that which concerns us. He cleansed us by the Blood of the Lamb of God and filled us with the Holy Spirit. He threw our sins to the sea of forgetfulness and remember them no more for the very reason that the Holy Spirit, Who is HOLY, can abide in us forever as His holy temples. No wonder His word says “Be holy for I Am holy.” (1Peter 1:16) Holiness is inevitable and only made possible as we fully rest our hope upon the grace that is brought to us at the revelation of Jesus Christ. It is a mindset and lifestyle that is anchored in the truth that we have been bought by the precious blood of Christ as lamb without blemish and without spot.
For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins NO MORE.” Hebrews 8:12 ESV
The beauty of our Daddy God’s love lies in the truth that though He is the Omniscient God Who knows ALL things, Who is MINDFUL (His mind is full) of you and me, He chooses to see us blameless and pure with the moral grandeurs and excellency of the finished work of Jesus Christ. He made us worthy to become His dwelling place. It is a place of intimacy where we can be ONE with Him and can never be separated from Him any longer.
The adventure of living, having and moving in Him is that He takes us from faith to faith, from strength to strength, from glory to glory. In our very own eyes, we are far from being like Christ but when our minds are being renewed day by day by the power of His word, we are becoming like Him slowly but surely without struggling and striving, for it is not by might nor by power but BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
Let your declaration today be: “I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”
