Oh yes, I just watch Wonder Woman and learned some things from that movie.  Many of us, especially children dream to be super heroes, but the truth is, we all are created by our God Who is the Creator of heaven and earth to be one in our own unique way according to the gifts and callings that He has deposited in us.  They may not appear to be in physical terms but in the spirit realm, we are Wonder Men and Wonder Women IN CHRIST ALONE.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and WONDERFULLY made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”  Psalm 139:14 NKJV

When a man or a woman is WONDERFULLY made, it  qualifies them to be called Wonder-Man or Wonder-Woman in the eyes of God, not because one does extra-ordinary things but it starts when one comes to know his or her identity.  Remember, the ONE Who made us is called WONDERFUL, therefore, being created according to His image and likeness, we truly carry the same DNA.

“For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given;
And the government shall be upon His shoulder,
And HIS NAME shall be called WONDERFUL, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”   Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

If you’ve watched the movie, Diana Prince has weapons of warfare.  She is fully equipped and fully trained to use them above and beyond the others.  When she was still a child, she had this powerful, unstoppable drive coming from her innermost being and personality that not even her mother could stop.  She has the DNA of her father although she knew nothing of it at that point in time.  She didn’t struggle to obtain it.  She just naturally was.  But the FULLNESS of her being came when she knew from Ares the reality of who she is, the daughter of Zeus.

Isn’t it just like you and me?  We were created just like our Heavenly Father but until we come to know about this truth, only then we can walk in it.  Only when our minds are renewed according to the Word of God, our lives get transformed.  Transformation postures us to HAVE and ENJOY the GOOD LIFE that He has prearranged and made ready for us to live.

We know that there is an enemy that is at work around us.  Yes, he may be a defeated foe but he still tries to inflict people with fear and condemnation that steals our joy, our peace and most of all our intimate relationship with Jesus.  He comes around like a roaring lion gumming us with his lies and deceptive schemes BUT the good news is, JESUS already won the victory for us.

To walk in a sustained victory, God gave us His FULL ARMOR against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  We need to be strong IN THE LORD and in the power of HIS might.  Just as Wonder Woman has weapons, our Good, Good Father also gave us this full armor.  “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”  (2 Corinthians 10:4 NIV)

“Therefore PUT the FULL ARMOR OF GOD, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the BELT OF TRUTH buckled around your waist, with the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS in place,  and with your FEET FITTED with the readiness that comes from the GOSPEL OF PEACE.  In addition to all this, take up the SHIELD OF FAITH, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the HELMET OF SALVATION and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God.”

1.  THE LASSO OF TRUTH-  was worn by Antiope and came from the Golden Girdle of Gaea. The weapon also allowed Wonder Wonder to take out truth from the people. It can also save people from magical attacks. The lasso is unbreakable and infinitely stretchable.

As believers, we have the BELT OF TRUTH.  Every word of God proves true, flawless, pure and tested (Proverbs 30:5).  It is fitting that the belt of truth is the first piece of the whole armor of God.  Jesus is The Way, THE TRUTH, and The Life” (John 14:6), and no one comes to the Father except through Him.  Therefore, truth is of the utmost importance in the life of a believer in Christ.  Our freedom comes in knowing the TRUTH of Who JESUS is and His finished work.  “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you FREE.”  John‬ ‭8:32‬ ‭NKJV

2.  A BATTLE ARMOR – Being an amazing fighter she knows that she needs a defensive covering for the body to protect her from during the battle.

As believers, we have the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.  “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS will REIGN IN LIFE through the One, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17 NKJV)  “In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.”  ‭‭(Isaiah‬ ‭54:14‬ ‭NKJV)  Jesus is the Lord of Righteousness.

 

3.  SHIELD – is capable of standing up to arrows and other assorted projectiles. It is truly a shield worthy of an Amazon princess.

As believers, we have the SHIELD OF FAITH that protects us from the arrows that flies by day. It keeps the darts of the enemy away from the head, chest, waist, arms and legs.  The shield is something we must take up, something we are required to raise.  Just strapping it to our arm won’t do any good at all if we don’t make the effort to hold it aloft and use it.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)  The importance of our faith is stressed on Hebrews 11:6, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”  Satan’s attacks can sometimes cause us to doubt God. Faith prompts us to believe God.  Faith recognizes the deceptiveness of his tactics and quickly extinguishes the arrows. When Satan accuses us, faith chooses to believe that Jesus has redeemed us and that there is no more condemnation.  “The LORD is my strength and SHIELD. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” (Psalm 28:7 NLT)

4.  TIARA – Used as the symbol of royalty, Tiara is also used as a weapon. Generally worn as a crown by Wonder Woman, she uses it as a throwing weapon with superpowers behind it. It works as a boomerang to her which returns after she throws it off.  It serves as a projectile.

As believers, we have the HELMET OF SALVATION.  We have been redeemed, restored by the blood of the Lamb and this helmet makes our thoughts captive into the obedience of Christ, thoughts that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.  Without it, our minds would be so vulnerable that the rest of the armor would be of little use.  We are what we think for as a man thinks, in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7).  “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.” (1 Corinthians 2:16 NLT)

5.   SWORD – is a weapon with a long metal blade and a hilt with a hand guard, used for thrusting or striking.

As believers, we have the SWORD OF OUR SPIRIT WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD.  “For the WORD OF GOD is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged SWORD, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12:)

Unlike all other pieces of the armor of God, which are solely defensive, the sword is uniquely suited for both defensive and offensive roles. A solid defense is invaluable, but the sword is the only way we can complete the work we have been given to do.  The all-powerful sword of the living God is able to cut through every defense our enemy can raise—down to the very division of bone and marrow. When wielded by a servant of God, nothing can withstand its ability to cut straight to the core of a matter and uncover the truth.

Jesus is the Word of God, therefore, Jesus is our SWORD.

‬‬6.  BRACELETS OF VICTORY is again one of the symbols of royalty which Wonder Woman wear on her wrist and are way beyond just a piece of jewelry. They can be used as defensive weapons with the help Zeus. They can reflect blades, blows, and virtually blasts, and are one of the strength-giving weapons of her.

As believers, we have our HANDS RAISED in PRAISE AND WORSHIP.  It is an expression of praise, supplication, submission, or simply a raising of the hand to express our faithfulness to God as we would like making a solemn pledge.  It is an invitation for God’s presence to sit on the throne of our praises and fill us with JOY unspeakable that becomes our strength to endure during a battle that He has already won.  The battle is not ours but the Lord’s.  “This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)

ALL her weapons equipped her to be the DEFENDER OF PEACE. The princess of the Amazons, armed with powers of a god, Wonder Woman is one of Earth’s most powerful DEFENDERS OF PEACE and equality and a member of the Justice League.  She stands for LOVE, PEACE, and above all else, TRUTH!

As believers, we have the SANDALS of the GOSPEL OF PEACE.  Every soldier needs the proper shoes when he goes into battle. Shoes are a very important part of the armor of God and without shoes one can find it difficult to step on difficult terrain, on sharp, rough, hot and uncomfortable ground which would make your mobility uncomfortable and strenuous.  PEACE is a very important factor when you are fighting a spiritual battle. You need to continually be walking in the peace of God even in the midst of a storm or battle. Jesus said “These things I have spoken to you, that IN ME you may have PEACE. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)  JESUS is the PRINCE OF PEACE.  Romans 16:20 says “And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly”.  Blessed are the PEACEMAKERS for they shall be called the children of God (Matthew 5:9).

More than the weapons that she has, we still have countless more!!!

He gave us His Name!

He gave us His Blood!

He gave us His Spirit

He gave us HIMSELF all because of His great love for us.

Wonder woman was trained to be an unconquerable warrior.  Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.  She finds it her sacred duty to DEFEND THE WORLD and that is what she has been doing.

As believers, aren’t we called to be and do the same?  His word says, “we are gods” (with the small “g”).  “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High (Psalm 82:6), called and set apart TO SUBDUE THE EARTH (Genesis 1:28).

We are  VICTORIOUS!  We are MORE THAN CONQUERORS!  We fight from the victory that Jesus won for us.  He conquered the world by the power of His blood and deprived it of its power to harm us.  Haven’t you noticed that every weapon He has given us is in CHRIST JESUS?  When we have Him in our hearts, we have all them all.   ^“And He Himself existed and is before ALL things, and in Him ALL things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.]” (Colossians 1:17 Amp)

ABOVE ALL, these weapons are fully at its utmost use when they are powered by the LOVE OF GOD in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit forever abiding in us.  We fight a good fight of faith and He always causes us to triumph IN CHRIST, because we fight not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God.

LOVE CONQUERS ALL.  LOVE NEVER FAILS.  LOVE NEVER GIVES UP.  LOVE NEVER RUNS OUT.  LOVE ALWAYS WINS.  God is LOVE, therefore we are called to walk in LOVE.

It’s time for us to ARISE and SHINE for the glory of the Lord is risen upon us.  It’s time for us to take our rightful place to subdue the earth with the power of God’s unfailing love and bring peace to the world.  Apart from HIM, we can’t.  Apart from us, He won’t.  WE are co-laborers with God to fully restore the earth back into what it was once again, like the Garden of Eden, where we can walk with God in the cool of the day that will enable us to with each other hand in hand in perfect peace which can only be made possible by TRUSTING in Jesus, with all our thoughts fixed on Him, with all our minds staying in Him and be intimate with Him WHO IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE.
