Jesus Is Second To NONE!

When we adore or revere someone, don’t you think we would like to be acknowledged by that someone?  We sometimes get out of our way to be seen and to be taken notice of. Oh yes, that’s a default attribute of being on planet earth.  At times we find ourselves searching in the net what the person is doing at the very moment and where.

Don’t worry!  It’s just but norm to behave this way.  The only thing that we need to redefine is WHO to adore that will give most value to our very being.  To WHOM shall we pour all of our affections on and be rest assured that we will NEVER be disappointed.

It was never in my wildest dreams that I would come to this point of lavishing ALL of who I am to Someone and be graced MORE to pour MORE.  JESUS is worthy of it all.

I was in my devotion time one day and my heart was just so touched when I heard a gentle whisper in my spirit.  HE said, “Do you know that when a famous person like a celebrity whom you look up to notices or sees you, he or she may acknowledge you for that very brief moment but he will never pursue you?  That road is a one-way street. They want to be known but they will never exert an effort to know you.  On top of that, no one in this world is capable of intimately zeroing in one person simultaneously.  All her/his fans will never experience what they are all longing for all at the same time which leads to big disappointments.”  Ohhhh … what a deep thought.

Our God is a jealous God.  Do you know why?  For me, one of the reasons why is that He loves us too much that He desires to see His best plan for us experienced and treasured.   He never wants us to live a mediocre life.  He desires the BEST for His beloved children but the thing is, ONLY HE knows what is best for you and me.

He knows us so well that when we put anyone or anything else before Him, we have a strong propensity to do things and go on our own way without acknowledging Him and His direction which is best suited for us.  He knows that we get enslaved by and submitted to the one whom we put first in our hearts.

Why did He tell us to SEEK HIM FIRST (Matthew 6:33)?  It’s because we always become like the One we seek, adore, and worship.  And one of His utmost desires is for us to become like Him.  After all, we have been created according to His image and likeness (Genesis 1:27).  He desires us to love like Him, talk like Him, walk like Him, look just like Him.  He longs for His goodness and glory to fill the earth but He won’t do it without us and we can never do it without Him.  He wants us to be carriers of His presence and diffuse who He truly is, THE HOPE OF GLORY, to the ends of the earth.  He wants to be known as the ONE TRUE GOD Who is GOOD, whose LOVE and MERCY endure forever.

Many a time He has been blamed for every bad thing that we see to such extent that calamities, wars and dysfunctions of this world are branded to be “acts of God”.  But then again, His mercy triumphs over judgment all because ALL His wrath has already been exhausted at the body of Jesus Christ at the cross and ALL that’s left of what He has for us is His love, mercy and grace.

His love is in relentless pursuit of us.  He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ, to make The Way for us to have intimacy with Him.  When Jesus died at the cross, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.  This powerful truth opened the throne of the King of kings and Lord of lords to be accessible for us to meet Him face to face and heart to heart.  No more blood of unblemished lambs are required every time a high priest comes into the holy of holies for the ONE-TIME PERFECT SACRIFICE, the Blood of the Lamb of God, was shed ONCE AND FOR ALL, that we may be able to live ONE in and with Him.

When we know how to put Him first and practically through personal experience what this means, then to pursue something or someone else is no longer a possibility.  When our hearts get locked-in into the beauty of Who Jesus is, we get enslaved into His loving presence and embrace that puts Him second to none.

He is not against us in adoration or pursuance of someone but He just wants a redefinition of WHO we are adoring, pursuing and worshiping.  He promised that when we seek Him first all other things will just be added to us.  When we have Him, we’ve got it all.  He knows that to know Him, His thoughts and His ways, will posture us to a glorious expected end.  It is He Who knows the end from the beginning, so why sweat for the things that are meant to be “sweatlessly” added when we put HIM FIRST?
